“YUM - AAAYY - ZING!!
Words are insufficient to describe my excitement for Mario’s!!!
I’ll start with THIN CRUST - Classic Neapolitan pizza, ITALIAN style. Then FRESH FRESH FRESH ingredients make all the difference. I look forward to it, whenever I can make it, usually for lunch on Friday, the only week day they’re open at 12:00 noon. Awesome vibe that’s 100% local local local. Small place, mostly take out, but you can seat 3-4 people at the window counter, which I love. Old school marble counter, with comfy padded bar stools. You have to know it’s here as the location is a tad off the beaten path of prime visibility. Which ‘proves’ one of my philosophies ‘ great location, often mehh food, not so great location - the food must be amazing. So many amazing points …. One of which is the ACTUAL MARIO! Punctuating the super local CHEF OWNED cafe. He’s here all the time, super nice guy, a joy to chat with … and he truly loves making incredible pizza!!“

“Dirty Water Dough Company delivers the kind of Boston food experience that feels both local and unforgettable, blending bold flavors, a laid‑back vibe, and a clear pride in craft. It’s the kind of spot where you walk in expecting a good slice and walk out talking about how surprisingly great everything was.
🍕 Atmosphere and first impression
The moment you step inside, the energy feels warm and unpretentious—exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizza spot. The space has that classic Boston edge: casual, lively, and full of people who clearly know they’ve found a gem. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in with friends, the environment feels welcoming without trying too hard.
🔥 Food that stands out
Dirty Water Dough is all about flavor, and it shows in every bite. Their dough has a signature chew and crispness that sets it apart—light enough to enjoy slice after slice, but sturdy enough to hold generous toppings. A few standout qualities make the food memorable:
- Creative specialty pizzas that balance bold ingredients without overwhelming the palate.
- Fresh, high‑quality toppings that taste thoughtfully chosen rather than thrown together.
- Perfectly baked crusts with that ideal mix of char, crunch, and softness.
- Generous portions that feel worth every penny.
Even the simpler pies—like a classic cheese or pepperoni—hit harder than expected because the base ingredients are just that good. And if you venture into their more adventurous combinations, you’ll find flavors that feel inventive without being gimmicky.
🍺 Drinks and extras
Pairing a slice with a cold drink is easy here. The beverage selection complements the food well, and the sides—like wings, salads, or garlic knots—round out the meal without overshadowing the star of the show. Everything feels consistent, fresh, and made with care.
⭐ Overall experience
Dirty Water Dough Company is one of those Boston spots that earns its reputation through quality and personality. It’s casual enough for a quick lunch, flavorful enough for a night out, and reliable enough to become a go‑to favorite. The combination of great dough, creative toppings, and a comfortable vibe makes it a standout in a city full of pizza options.
If you’re looking for a place that captures Boston’s food spirit—unpretentious, bold, and delicious—Dirty Water Dough Company delivers every time.“

“Stopped in on a Thursday night with the family, no reservations, and waited about 35 minutes for a table. Totally worth it.
We ordered two pizzas, the burrata salad, and a charcuterie board, and everything hit the mark. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, great crust and flavor, the burrata was fresh and creamy, and the charcuterie board was exactly what you’d hope for—quality meats and cheeses done right.
Food came out quick, service was friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe was casual but lively.
Bottom line: food was mad good, everyone left happy, and I’d absolutely come back.“

“Our waitress was very good and didn't need to write anything down yet still got everything correct for a party of 10. That alone was impressive.
I'm not a fan of their pizza but their bbq meat is absolutely worth it. I forgot how good it is.
The lamb and sausage were both great and the portions were better than expected.
It's simple and rustic but it hits the spot.“

“This has been a staple on Dudley St for some time with fantastic dinner plates, generous portions, & doesn’t give bland like other places I’ve been to. They have a variety of options to choose from and you sure won’t be disappointed. My favorite are the calzones. They even at one point sold pastelitos or as many know Spanish beef/chicken patties. Very tasty. My family will never go elsewhere.“

The veggie Pizza had very fresh veggies with a good amount of fresh arugula scattered on top. Roasted garlic too! A sausage and mushroom pizza was also very good and filling. Wish there were some type of Dixie plates to put our individual slices“

“Cafe Amaro is a true North End gem. While the space is small, it only adds to the quaint, cozy charm of the restaurant. The food was terrific—thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine that paired perfectly with our meal and made the experience feel special. Our server was excellent and very attentive without being intrusive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Best of all, my 20- and 22-year-old children absolutely loved it, which says a lot. A wonderful spot that captures the intimate, authentic feel of the North End—I would happily return.“

“My wife and I popped into Ducali's before a weeknight Celts game for just a bite to eat, but we found much more. There was excitement and positivity as we walked through the door, escaping the cold evening winds from Boston Harbor.
After we grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar, a simple paper menu appeared, letting us know we're at a no frills spot that puts their money into their product. The open prep station & ovens provided a great view of both the chefs and the materials they used.
A house salad and a pizza for one was plenty for us to split before a cold walk to The Garden. The salad was light, tangy and maybe a touch too sweet, while the pizza was fresh and perfect. Just what we hoped for at the moment.
The crowd in the room was fun and lively, engaging discussions taking place usu over large pans of elevated pizzas. Good communal conversations and politeness as the tables were close requiring further cooperation.
Both of us thought this little shop was punching above it's weight in order to make.it at this location. GREAT job!!“

“First timer based on strong recommendations, and it did not disappoint! As a loyal Sorellina and Mooo patron over the years, I expected near perfection, and the roman style margherita pizza was on par with my expectations. Delivery snafu using third-party commercial service off the website, but they surely made up for it. Chase was a rock star!“

“I used to order linguine with red sauce every single day. And an appetizer like cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. I loved the side salad and the garlic bread. Sometimes I used to order that in the morning after staying up all night. I moved away many years ago. Still thinking about this place.“

“Went to Pat’s last week for the 1st time and the hospitality was off of the charts! The owner Pat took a few minutes out of his time to come and talk with me and have great conversation. I ordered a large cheese pizza which was awesome! Huge slices! The fresh ingredients and the fresh crust were fantastic. I reviewed the pizza and it was an 8.4 which is a high score! Will definitely be back! -Arnold 🔥🍕🎉“

“Great quality, reasonable prices. I love popping in here after work for an empanada and a slice of cheese, for $4.50!!! They regularly have a pork shoulder roasted (pernil). Slice of cheese is thick and made with quality cheese and dough, unlike all the other cheap places that do ultra thin crust.“

“Stopped by Overtime Pizza outside TD Garden after the Celtics game and it absolutely hit the spot. Perfect post-game slice — hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. “My family’s favorite pizza! The people there are also always friendly and helpful. My 17 year old said the chicken bacon ranch pizza is the best they have ever had. I love the cheese so much - I know I should also branch out but it really is so good. Also, the salad and their ranch dressing is so good, fresh, and I loved that it had lots of carrot and cucumber slices, and green pepper. Yum!“

“Been trying as many pizza spots as I can in JP before I move. Stopped in for a quick lunch special.
I got the 2 slice and a can special while my wife got a slice as well. It came out to about $13 which is a bit expensive compared to other pizza spots around the area.
However, when the slices were served it made more sense. They were in fact, large slices. The crust was thin, struggling to handle the amount of cheese on the slices, but I was ready to tackle that challenge.
In the end it was good, not top tier in JP, but the size of the slices and the amount of space there is inside the restaurant in case you want to sit and enjoy whatever meal you order made me enjoy the experience more.“

“New website is very limited on how you can now get the items on what you want to order. I can no longer add shrimp to a chicken Alfredo pasta or add tuna to a salad. I used to order a lot from them and unfortunately this is making me order once in a blue moon.“

“It matches the hype. The Sicilian Pizza is…perfect. There’s not enough superlatives to do it justice and if there were, even then it wouldn’t reach hyperbole. Craziest thing of it all is the pricing. Four slices, arancini, and a drink for $16.00? How? In today’s economy how are they keeping the price this low? Also amazing. Just go. Don’t think about it, don’t pass go, don’t collect $200…go get your dang perfect slice.“
