Yunnan Kitchen offers a variety of flavorful dishes with unique textures and generous portions. Standout dishes include the grilled lemongrass tilapia and brisket tomato stew, as well as the tofu and peppers dish. The "potato salad" is particularly flavorful but can be very spicy. The restaurant's cocktails are hit or miss, while the service is informal and sometimes slow. The decor is cozy and intimate, featuring stained glass lamps and Chinese-style carvings. However, the booth/bench seats could use updating. The Yunnan Style Rice Cake and Sweet and Sour Fish Filet were less successful, with the rice cake becoming hard and the fish filet's batter being too thick. Overall, the experience is pleasant, but the food is mediocre in some instances.
