“I live outside of Boston now. I've been going there since I was a kid(19) now I'm 45; if I'm able to get there, I'm going to EDP. The pizza is incredible. I can't find anything to Providence that can do what EDP can do for pizza. What ever you order get extra cheese if you want that slice feel.“

P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

“Have been here a few times for lunch and I see why it is a staple in South Boston.

I'm a sucker for chicken cutlets so my two experiences and now go-tos for sandwiches were the Mamma Mia and Chicken Americano. The bread was so soft and fresh. Same goes for the chicken cutlets. Additionally they were thin, but hearty, crispy, yet juicy. Not only was the sandwich delicious, but was it filling. I am not a small guy and I had to wrap the second half of the sandwich up for later. This doubles the value as each sandwich is about $12, making it $6/meal if you split it in half, which will be a necessity if you add some chips and a beverage.

One small negative is their pizza. Being me, I have try a cheese slice wherever I see one available. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either, however, it's clear to me that you don't come to J Pace's for pizza.

If you're visiting Boston or live in and around Southie you got to stop by for a sandwich or maybe two. I'll be back soon and often!“

“Stopped in today, this was my second time shopping. Got 10lbs fresh kielbasa and lots of other goodies. Very helpful and pleasant staff. “I tried this place yesterday for the first time and I am so impressed! So far I’ve had the tabbouleh, the Israeli salad, baked fish with veggies, challah and chocolate babka and they were all so, go good! I still have frozen soups and a mushroom pot pie to try and can’t wait to eat my way through them this week for lunch. The fish was so good I can hardly believe it was frozen. My daughter kept asking for bites so I will be sure to buy multiple next time. I’ve been meaning to try this place and wish I’d gotten here sooner. They are gluten and dairy free and mostly meat free as well. A lot of their ingredients are organic and they use quality oil. They were telling me while I was there that they grind some of their flours in house. You can taste the quality! It’s so nice to have a safe, healthy and DELICIOUS option for take out!
