“Glazed Bytes Coffee is selling itself short by being tucked inside a tiny, painfully forgettable mall in Brookline. The coffee itself? Not forgettable at all.

We ordered two Cloud Foam Lattes (I think that was the name), and that foam was ridiculous in the best way possible. It sits somewhere between an absurdly fluffy marshmallow and canned whipped cream, except smoother, creamier, and somehow lighter at the same time. I genuinely have no idea how they made foam feel “luxurious”, but there we are.

The coffee underneath actually held its own too. Strong flavour, unique profile, not just another Instagram café trying to survive off aesthetics and oat milk. Properly good coffee.

Honestly, the mall needs them more than they need the mall. Places like this drive foot traffic way harder than another random clothing shop nobody remembers walking into. More food spots. More cafés. More reasons for people to actually stay there.

“Great coffee, and their seasonal drinks are always creative and delicious. I've been going here for years, it's one of the best around.

This location was excellent under its 2023 era management. Service has slipped since then, with less care from the baristas taking orders and making drinks, but it's still a great cafe overall.

Bonus points: No upcharge for non-dairy milk.
No penalty for being lactose intolerant or plant-based, which is how it should be everywhere.“

“There is a reason there is a line at this place. Their lattes / matcha are wonderful. Strawberry Matcha with real strawberries. Quality ingredients, made to perfect proportions for a great beverages. Will update when I try their baked goods.“

They have a large selection of fresh bagels that you can customize however you like, whether you want a simple spread or a full sandwich. They also have muffins, cookies, chips, bottled drinks, and a great selection of hot or iced coffee with different flavors.

I ordered an onion bagel with lox cream cheese, and it was absolutely delicious and so fresh! The bagel had the perfect crunch on the outside while still being soft and chewy on the inside, and there was just the right amount of cream cheese.

“I've been going to Ovenbird for over a year now. The staff are always kind and the food and drinks are always delicious! I would especially recommend the strawberry rhubarb hand pies. Also, if you're visiting the Acton Farmers' Market, be sure to check if Ovenbird is there that day.“

“Really fast service. I ordered a peach cream matcha and it was really good. A lot of variety in drinks, a lot more than Gongcha's, and I personally prefer these flavors as well. The boba itself was really good, consistently sweet and chewy. Goncha and Kung Fu Tea are similarly priced, so it's up to you on which flavor or boba floats your boat, however I would choose Kung Fu Tea over Gongcha any day.“

“Cute coffee shop on the outskirts of Boston. I enjoy their EG Tea latte and their mocha. I also recently bought loose leaf tea here and I consider myself a tea snob. Their tea ‘leaves’ are long and full versus blended down which speaks to the high quality and unique and aromatic flavours of their tea. I will definitely be a repeat customer.“

“This place has all the advantages of the Caffe Nero that it used to be without any of the disadvantages. In other word's it's spacious, has a variety of furniture and seating options (equally good spot for solo laptop work, relaxed book time, group meeting), lots of outlets, nice big windows, a great menu with reasonable price point. Compared to before the business turned over the coffee is better (IMO) and cheaper and the place no longer feels depressing in that way that carbon copy coffee franchises do. The people who work here are so nice and there is always a place to sit! In fact it's too easy to find a spot—please visit Cafe Lava and Bento and support this business so that we can keep them around.“

“One can’t tell a book by its cover. The place could use a facelift as it’s an old dinner, but the new owners are lovely and always smiling. The coffee roll is like eating a sweet cloud, it’s so light and wonderful. The donuts are so fresh and the blackberry filled are amazing. I could eat one everyday with a Vietnamese Coffee…but I won’t!

I also had the veggie pan fried buns and they came out so fresh and flavorful. Definitely a favorite on the menu. The only thing is you may have to wait quite a bit for your item. Definitely do not come here for a quick grab and go trip. Try ordering ahead. Good food quality takes time.“

Cacao has a warm atmosphere with soft music and incredible photography lining the walls. The owner is Dominican and has taken many of these beautiful photos themselves. The nice girl working named Sophia told me this fun fact as I waited for sweet Nathalie to whip up my iced latte. Soft, natural lighting. Cacao is a gem!“
