Cute environment service was decent food was absolutely disappointing, ordered buffalo Mac and cheese it was so watery and tasteless I decided not to complain or send it back. When we were ready to leave the older waitress asks me if I wanted a box. I declined politely and was then asked if I was full???? Ummm no and as I’m trying to be polite you’re gonna make me insult the cooking anyway. SMH so I did so when I was then asked if I just did not like it. I replied absolutely not a d got the nastiest look. Lmao just a brief word of advice… when someone’s plate is still FULL of their meal and it’s pushed to the side MAKE THE CONNECTION instead of all the questions and ridiculous comments and also keeps your eye rolls to yourself. “Choosing Independence Harbor was a decision that we will never regret. We had our wedding at the end of March 2025 and worked with both Sydney and Jocelyn. Communication with Sydney was constant and she was always available if we had a question. The price for the venue was also so affordable and staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and taken care of throughout the ceremony and reception. We would recommend this venue to anyone getting married and were so grateful to have had the pleasure of working with Sydney and Jocelyn.“

Just ate here last night (Friday 5/2)
Our server Paige was attentive despite having many tables. The drinks were delicious- tried my first Mint Julep! We were bold and went with the PB &J wings to try. They sounded so odd but also so delicious. They did not disappoint!

We couldn’t help but overhear behind us there was an issue with their order. After two visits from 2 different managers the people got up and left. We did ask Paige about it and she did explain the situation in a professional manner. When she felt she couldn’t resolve the issue, she got help from her managers. The people chose not to pay even though it was their mistake. And said they would give a bad review if they were forced to pay their bill. Kudos to Paige and the managers for handling the situation so well.

“I’ve been wanting to take my girlfriend to The River House for a while now, and with the weather finally cooperating, tonight was the night—and it did not disappoint. We grabbed a spot outside along the bar area overlooking the river, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect.

🍹 I kicked things off with a strong Stoli Troli, while she went all in on their Mai Tai—tropical, smooth, and just the right amount of kick.

🦪 For an appetizer, we shared their stuffed quahog, which was spot on with a little melted butter and a dash of Tabasco. Pure New England flavor.

🥩 For dinner, I went with the steak tips (tender + flavorful), paired with sweet potato fries and their broccoli Caesar—honestly, the broccoli stole the show.

🍗 She had the chicken teriyaki bowl, perfectly drizzled with pineapple crema—light, flavorful, and totally crave-worthy.

“We visited Barrett’s yesterday with a group of 30+ people! 12 8 year old kids who were playing their playoff hockey games down the street at the rink! The kids were off the walls, and loud! However, your waitresses handled it like champs, and were so nice! It’s clear they’re used to the craziness! The 3 girls that took care of us were amazing!“

“The food service needs to be there when you order comes out. 2 people did get there drinks right 1 get gingerbread other people get water when they get there food 1 people ask not want any grave on their meal and they did not check to see if all people have meal and I Know they will be problem when service person who has come over and ask us all the food order again my did not get my order and it came out 25 minutes late after reset of the party get there it was the way I ask for it to be cook.“

The food, the atmosphere, the staff and management all great though one waitress Donna goes above and beyond to everyone she comes in contact with and with a smile. All the help are good but Donna is above the rest, if you’ve had her for a waitress you will see for yourself. You have to try their Portuguese beans, huge portion enough for two, best in the area.. first was recommended by Donna been getting them since. You have to try this place once for yourself you will be glad you did

“I have always been an Applebee's person, so moving to this area and finding one close has been a treat. The food is good (I keep ordering), and the customer service is always pleasant. I have to say the strawberry mango smoothies are addictive. Wish I could say the same about the desserts, though. The Cinnamon Rolls were disappointing; the Apple Pie was more apple mush than an actual pie slice, and the blondie was not up to the Applebee's usual standard. Somebody please resurrect the desserts.
