“The hubby wanted to take me to lunch for my upcoming birthday..for our age and for our wallet we always go to lunch vs dinner...we are now already home with the pups in our jammies..so great...now as a self proclaimed foodie, I have wanted to try the food at Alma Nove at the Hingham Shipyard for many years...I am also a huge Wahlbergers show fan...adored their mom Alma on the show and her pal Phyllis...the show is so much fun..binge it if you haven't seen it..anyway...the weather today didn't look too spectacular for a waterfront restaurant but the blue skies showed themselves as we were eating inside...such a terrific location..the shipyard has been revitalized in the last 15 years or so...lots of shopping and dining destinations including the original Wahlbergers Burger Joint...I love this stuff...Dave is like ok whatever...but our experience was lovely..I will say however that my husband and I don't quite fit in the Hingham vibe...and it has a vibe..no shade but it kind of carries an air about it...the people I mean...lol...but we ignored all that and for sure enjoyed lunch..even Dave said how delicious it all was...our server...nice..we typically enjoy banter with our servers...he wasn't about that...all business and he gave us excellent service..but I do have the sense that more than likely the staff has high hopes of gaining maybe a walk on role on Blood Bloods with Donnie or maybe a handshake from Marky Mark when he comes through from time to time...hope for them it happens..fingers crossed...😉..about the food...great bread..seemed homemade but simple..fresh..served with butter that had black specks on it..turns out it was a black salt..interesting..a few drafts for Dave from Mayflower Brewery in nearby Plymouth and I had a lovely Pinot Noir...bottled water on the table..big fan of that..I ordered the Pan Seared Shrimp and Scallops served over a sweet potato risotto , topped with haricot verts(fancy greenbeans), toasted marcona almonds and truffle honey and my date had the Butternut squash Tortellacci with pan seared chicken topped with sage brown butter sauce, pecorino romano, apple cider gastrique and fried sage and chives..wow..we are styling here in the Shipyard...every bite was spot on and a perfect serving for lunch..we enjoyed all of it..dessert..well.of course..they have an in house pastry chef so that's a given for me..chose the Banana Bourbon Bread Pudding..when he returned he also brought a small chocolate dessert..like cake in a jar with whipped cream and a candle...he said they heard someone was celebrating a bday...we never said it so all I can figure is I posted that we were there for my bday and had tagged the restaurant...great social media connection if that was the case...we shared them and they were fabulous...took some photos around the place..ran into folks the hubby knew from Hull..absolutely highly recommend Alma Nove..those that aren't familiar with the background. ..The famous Wahlberg Brothers Donnie and Mark have a brother Paul who is the chef and owner of Alma Nove..named for their precious mom Alma and Nove in Italian means nine..there were 9 Walhberg kids..5 stars from me for Alma Nove.. Open daily for lunch and dinner. .I believe they have live music on Sundays and in the nice weather their outside patio overlooks Hingham Bay...a must try❤️ Mark has famously said their brother Paul is the most talented in the family...I believe that is spot on...”

“Delicious menu items.. the pear salad is delicious and a fabulous starter to share. I had the swordfish over the lobster succotash and it was fantastic.. the succotash alone would be a delight! Highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back. We ended with the flourless chocolate cake and it was perfect”

“My family dined here today on Easter Sunday and everything was top notch! Service was excellent and the food was delicious! Made our Easter a breeze and we were so thankful that they were open and took reservations! Our daughter loved that the Easter bunny came by to our table as well! So much fun! We will be back!”

“We visited for the first time last night and I think it’s our new favorite! My kids LOVED the food-especially my 2yr old, he got the kids fish and chips! I got the half roasted chicken-oh Emmy goodness it was so good! Dessert was great too-baked apple pie! Yum! Staff was kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!”

“My wife and I visited Square Cafe in Hingham last night and we had an awesome dinner! I can't say enough good things about this place. Probably one of THE BEST meals I've had in a long time when dining out. The food...all of it....our appetizers, entrees and dessert was outstanding! Our waiter Jamis was the best! If you haven't tried Square Cafe, do yourself a favor and give it a try. We will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“We decided to take the ferry over to Hingham and have lunch. The Beth was a nice surprise! We started with blueberry lemonade and a peach bourbon drink. We chose the burrata caprese for the appetizer and shared a slow roasted turkey BLT. It was all delicious! Our waitress, Kasey, was awesome. We didn’t feel rushed, we were able to enjoy the view of the harbor from inside. We would go back, great place for casual dining.”

“For a tiny little spot on Hingham Harbor, this place packs a big punch! You'd be hard pressed to find a better cup of coffee on the South Shore! The coffee & food they serve, the coffee and equipment they sell, it's all Top Shelf. Even the story behind the company is worth the time, while you're sipping your first cup.”

“I recently discovered Brewed Awakenings, and I am hooked! I visited the Cranston location. The staff was so friendly. The cafe was spotless, and Paul, the manager, is so warm, welcoming, has a stellar personality, and completely makes my morning. It's been tricky trying to find a solid cup of iced coffee that has all of the bells and whistles. I shared with Paul my favorite flavors, and he immediately whipped up the perfect cold concoction. It was my first time trying coldfoam! It is by far the best iced coffee I have ever had. Pictured is brewed Smores iced coffee with Oreo cold foam, crushed oreo cookies, and a smidgen of chocolate syrup. 10/10 recommend. I'm already looking forward to my morning cup.”

“So I don’t really go to Starbucks because it’s confusing, coffee has to really taste good for me to like it, and I don’t know just not my cup of a tea but I work as an in home care. And they want to go to Starbucks so we did now we have this company card so that you’re not Spending all your money when you take people out for their activities (we have a limit) well the company card wasn’t working and I needed the pin i actually for the first time Didn’t bring my cards just my license so I’m feeling terrible. I don’t know if the girl behind the counter knew I was stressed. I’m working 28 hours straight my coworker was driving me up a wall and I couldn’t take it anymore and she was so kind and it was exactly what I needed. There’s decent people out there! And I just wanna thank Marie for making my stressful day a little less stressful”

“Great coffee stop. There's a bunch of coffee flavors to try and they take care to make it how you like it. Service was pleasant and quick. The iced coffees we got were all really good. It was a little weird walking into what looked like an old 7-11 but they're actually located in the back and have a blatantly obvious/pink counter. Prices were reasonable (on par with Dunkin and other coffee places in the area)

“Many nights I have come into my favorite restaurant just a few minutes before they open, and I love to watch as the fabulous cook chops and prepares that night's supply of vegetables. They look so fresh, as though just picked from a garden. But everything is fresh and perfectly seasoned--never over-seasoned or salty--at Muang Thai. The chicken is crisp and still moist inside (sweet & sour chicken), the beef is tender (spiced beef cold salad). The noodles and even the rice is great all by itself. I love the peanut sauce for dipping (chicken satay), the fresh ginger sauce for dipping 'shu mai' (ground shrimp and I don't know what other magic ingredients go into something as special....) There are curries and basil and seafood dishes I've yet to try, but it all looks and smells delightful coming out of the kitchen. The people who work there are in the family or they act like family--even to the guests like me. Everyone is just happy you came in, and that's the best service there is. (and as if this weren't enough--deliciously fresh AND healthy food at fair prices with great service, open on Mondays.... and now they deliver too. Unbelievable. I love this place.”

“Cute location. Very busy. Definitely call ahead as it may be 30-50 minutes depending on the night. Pizza is super thin with generous portions and decent prices. I prefer a true NY style pizza, but this was tasty and I’m looking forward to trying other things.”
