“A good friend of mine let me know that McGath's was going to start serving bar pizza. I decided to stop by and grab a bar pie for take out. I sat at the bar and ordered my pie to do and a Stella on Draft for the wait. Service was great and the Bar Pie was cooked to order and boxed up and delivered bar side. Cash Only place but an ATM on site if needed. As for the take out bar pie perfect crust sauce and cheese ratio was on point.“

You can waltz in and grab a seat at the bar and enjoy yourself a pint of Guinness and enjoy some friendly conversation. After a day spent touristing, this was exactly the place I was looking for to unwind and actually relax. Made me think of all the pubs I frequented when I was a younger man hanging out with his buddies.“

“I've gone to Cook twice and both times have been impressed with the quality of food and service we received. Depending on the night, I would definitely recommend a reservation. The last time I went, I ordered Pita bread starter, Steak Tips, Bog drink (can't remember the exact name), and Peach Sangria. The drinks were both good. Cant complain. The starter was good - warm pita served with muhamara and cheese. Great start to the dinner. The main dish arrived, and it was decently portioned. The steak tips were cooked perfectly, the potato croquette side was solid, and I could take or leave the broccoli. Overall, very satisfied. I am sure we will be back.“

Oh pickle plate is a must - classic sweet to the unexpected root veg and snow pea mix. Great beers new and old. The bartender Mike brings it. He's cool and chill and makes the best subtle recommendations. Great fun to talk with. Great music, great vibe. Already planing a trip back for the reuben. Simple menu done right.“

“Whenever we are in the mood for more American style fare, we think why go anywhere other than The Abbey because the food is always reliably delicious. Take a grilled chicken sandwich: omnipresent on local menus, yet only The Abbey makes this a moist and delicious generous meal every time. “My wife and I were in Boston for 3 days this weekend , and we found this place on our second stop. As soon as we walked in there, we felt the amazing atmosphere of all the people around. We also met some amazing people who we invited to sit with us because the place was a 100% full. They happen to be from Australia, even though the guy was originally from Boston. We had an amazing dinner and appetizers on the first night there. And then the next day we came back for lunch and had an amazing bartender named Ro. And if that wasn't enough, we came back Sunday morning for breakfast. as far as I can see, this is the only place to go if you are in downtown Boston, hands down. We also loved the live music. “Distraction is a great local spot for roslindale residents. The staff is friendly and beers are unique. It's just one of those places where you don't have to go far for a good beer and enjoy local community people. I would call it more than just a local brewery but a community hang out area, from live music, mahjong groups and others just chilling and watching a game. They also have games, non alcoholic beers and cocktails. Again, staff is friendly and goes beyond to be kind to everyone. I obviously love it here.“

“I love going to this place, and we always enjoy the food, service, except today I request a glass of water with lemon, and the waitress brought me a plastic cup with water and lemon, sorry I don'tdrink water in a plastic cup, so nicely I ask her to change it to a glass , and she was polite, no problem, but next to us was sitting two elderly couple that since we walk in they were very upset because we sit in the next table, and as I was asking the young lady for a regular glass ,this older lady was talking trush about me, and the fellow who was sitting next to me though that because we are Spanish,we couldn't speak English, he respond the lady that Ibwas trush, I respect people, we are educated, and I didn't said what they deserve to be told ,because my parents educated me, I was raised here in Massachusetts, and probably have more manners than this old cauple, they show their true color, racist, think they own every space in the earth, shame on them, if they are so afraid of Spanish people they should not go out of their shell, I been living in Massachusetts for 55 yrs. I don't need to feel uncomfortable in any public place because of few pigeons that cannot leave at home their racism, they are ridiculous, we are in 2023 United State is not only for morons like them, the restaurant is nice, and service is great, probably this young girl is new, don't know what happen, she was nice , but like always there are people that shoyld mind there own business.

“If I could give 10 stars for customer service, I would! Matt and Kevin (Bakes) are fantastic bartenders. Bakes, especially, was professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. He knew the customers by name and they knew him. This superior service made overpriced hotel food worth it, lol. Also, the cobb salad with salmon was divine!“

“We visited on a Sunday night. The bar area was moderately busy but our poor server had a large section with six or seven tables and not much help and the bartenders were slow getting drinks out. It seemed like it was. Maybe just a staffing issue. Our server was professional and kind. Made good recommendations. Just had too many people to wait on at any given time. The food and drinks were great.“

The sushi was okay.
I don't recommend the una don (eel bowl) at all, worst ive had. The salmon roe on the Salmon Oyako Don tasted bad, the marinade was off.“
