“We enjoyed the omakase dinner at Akame restaurant. The restaurant is ultra small, just 6 seats during each seating so there plenty of opportunities to chat with chef and watch him create our dinner. I enjoyed creative combinations of flavors and textures. I loved all the fish offering, however my favorite turned out to be the four gras served on crispy rice crispies topped with yuzu jam and chocolate. Heavenly!
The restaurant is hidden away in an alley off Mass ave. We parked right in front of it, but did not see it, because the only sign is a black writing on the door which we could not see due to reflections. For reference, it is next to Fruitee Yogurt, which has bright signage.”

I decided on fried chicken and fried vegetable rice, which turned out to be an awesome choice. The rice came out first, and it was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crisp, just the way I like it, even though I didn't request it that way. The customer service was top-notch—very professional. I only interacted with one staff member, but the service was fast, and I didn't have to wait long for anything. I highly recommend you try their food. I'll definitely be coming back. Excellent service all around! I'm not a person who try different culture foods. The reviews sold me. The Service I received again was top notch 👌 👍”

“Last night was my second time at Post 1917 in Lexington. Outstanding meal top to bottom. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the mushroom and sweet corn sides were amazing and the tater tots (I'd rename them mashed potater tots) are ridiculous. The service was fantastic and the reception my wife and I got from Lori was as warm and welcoming as the first time I was there with a different group. We have great steak house choices in Massachusetts and this one is among the top. Well done to everyone there.”

“Had a blueberry scone, cranberry muffin, and grabbed a garlic cheddar bread loaf. The muffin was old and dry, the scone was pretty good, but the loaf was incredible. It went amazingly with eggs and grilled cheeses. It was calorically heavy and still might have been the fastest my health-conscious household has gone through a load of bread in ages. I'm excited to try their other artisan loafs and see if they can redeem the last muffin.”

“I wanted to share my recent experience at your establishment, as it has been weighing on my mind.

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, I visited between 7:50 and 8:00 a.m., hoping to enjoy a quick breakfast before work. I approached the counter and explained to the young lady that I had come in the day before, Monday, January 5, around the same time, and unfortunately, my bagel order was incorrect. I simply wanted to ensure that this time my order would be right.

I understand that people have busy days, and when she asked why I hadn’t called or returned the previous day, I explained that I was at work and unable to be on my phone unless it was an emergency. I could sense that my request caught her off guard, which perhaps affected her response.

I wasn’t seeking a refund or anything for free; I just wanted to make sure my order would be correct. A little kindness can go a long way, and I felt that my intention was met with contempt.
I truly believe we all have our moments, and it’s important to remember that everyone has their own struggles.

As someone who has been a loyal customer for four years, it was disheartening to feel a lack of understanding in that interaction, especially when all I wanted was to make sure my order was correct this time. I know it can be challenging in a busy environment, but all I hoped for was a simple acknowledgment maybe stating, “I’m sorry that happened,” and a commitment to get my order right this time.

I genuinely appreciate the hard work that goes into running a business like this, and I hope my feedback can help foster a more supportive atmosphere for both staff and customers. Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts.”

“I have been to over a 100 different dunks while traveling through New England. I come in here every Friday at 1:45 as a little treat to end the work week.The worker who makes the ice coffees here makes the best ice coffee I’ve had out of any of the dunks I’ve been to. I don’t know how to explain it it’s just always perfectly made every Friday. Bagels and donuts r normal dunks bagels and donuts. But if u like ice coffee this is the place to go.”
