“This restaurant gets major points for being accommodating to different dietary needs. I loved the variety of options on the menu, and everything I ordered was seriously delicious. The Mac and cheese was creamy, the corn bread was sweet and crumbly, and the banana pudding was a fantastic surprise. The only things that didn't quite hit the mark were the shiitake burnt end, which was a bit too chewy for my taste, and the Brussels sprouts, which were a tad soggy from being take-out. Still, I'm super impressed with this place and and I would definitely order again.“

“I tried Code 1 BBQ today after seeing it on Facebook for months. The food is nothing short of FANTASTIC!! The brisket was juicy and had great bark, the pork belly was crispy and very flavorful, and the chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. My favorite part though - the beef tallow fries were incredible. If you like BBQ and haven’t tried Code 1 I’d highly recommend stopping in. The food is great and the owners are so friendly. We had a great chat while i waited for food and their story is amazing. Well done Code 1!!“

“We stopped in just before 5pm on a Saturday and thankfully we did because the place got busy quickly. There was plenty of staff working to handle the night. One of us ordered a 2 meat tray with brisket & pork belly. The chosen sides were basement potato salad and Mac & cheese. The other ordered a pulled pork tray. Sides were coleslaw and Mac & cheese. Both had sweet tea and shared a bucket of biscuits w honey butter. The best part was the pulled pork. It was wicked moist and flavorful. I feel the brisket was a bit dry, but there are 3 sauces on the side. We loved the biscuits with honey butter and the Mac & cheese was good. Our meal came to about $77, before tip. The staff are mostly efficient but our waiter could have been better. He didn't ask what we wanted to drink when he greeted us, he wasn't very personable in comparison to another waiter who gave very detailed descriptions of the specials when speaking to a table next to us. We asked for a sweet tea refill and didn't get it. Seemed sporadic, but not new. We'd go back though to try it again.“

“Decided to go out for dinner with a few friends and it was delicious. I liked the citrus dressing on the avocado salad. The filet mignon was tender and flavorful. For dessert, green tea ice cream is a must!“

“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“Friendship BBQ in Allston is a vibrant, essential spot for anyone craving authentic Chinese skewers and their legendary Cumin Grilled Fish. The atmosphere is loud, bustling, and full of energy, perfectly matching the bold, spice-forward food. The star is the whole fish, perfectly grilled and buried under a mountain of fragrant cumin and chilies—a truly unforgettable dish. The various skewers, especially the cumin lamb, are expertly charred and delivered sizzling to your table.“

“Oh my god, this place is so good. It totally hit the mark when I was craving Korean BBQ. For $40 per person, you can eat as much Korean BBQ as you want. Not only pork, but chicken and beef too, and all the side dishes are excellent. I couldn’t believe how good the kimchi stew and egg soufflé were.
I am pretty sure the place is run by Chinese owners, so you cannot really expect ssamjang, but for this price point it is about as good as an all you can eat Korean BBQ place can get. Even though it is AYCE, the food quality is still very solid and I honestly do not know how they make a profit with how generous the portions are.
Loved it and I am honestly considering signing up for the membership. Will definitely come back again. But beware there will be a long line. We waited about 40 minutes starting around 8 p.m. on a Friday.“

“Alone for thanksgiving,I got myself a meal for myself and my dog. BEST turkey dinner! My only criticism is the portion, he only gave me enough turkey for a few fork fulls.“
