“While Cronins can be characterized as a "dive bar", it is a great place to grab some very good food for a very reasonable price! This last visit we had an order of chicken wings and stuffed clams for appetizers and then shared a bar pizza. All were very well done. In the past we have had the steak tips, shepherds pie as well as other specials.“

Malachy's Saloon Irish Pub • $
51 Granite St, Quincy

“Used to go there a lot. The owner would cash my paychecks for me and the bartenders would buy me a beer or two every other visit. They loved having repeat customers and fun. So many people to talk to once you spent some time. Later on some odd late night bar tenders had attitude but the owner always took it to heart when I'd tell him about less than polite customer service.“

Prompt and courteous service from the young man acting as host to the bartender and the server.Burger was perfectly medium rare with crisp and tasty bacon. Salad was fantastic and fresh. Brussels sprouts were perfect. Reasonable but elevated prices but fairly reasonable at $40 including generous tip. We will be back.“

“There ! I've said it. Hope you're happy, Peter O'Malley. I've resisted yelping the Plough for years because I like being able to get a seat there for a pint or two or maybe more. It's so comfortable as it is - because it is just a pub. But wait, think a one lane bowling alley with tables down the side facing the bar with someone in overalls playing something 'grovin' at the end while you chill. The there's the Cuban you can't get enough of to go with the black and tan. Add the locals, more music, Mary, the brews, weird specials and it doesn't get better. Get over the bathroom, it looks like that because it is that. Yeah, sure I'll have another.“

“First time visiting Boston, this place was recommended. I've visited a lot of Irish pubs but this one stands out as not trying to out shamrock everyone. It's old school and it's cool with the men in white shirts and ties, hardwood bars, dim lighting and great seating layout. We both had fish and chips and I had a cup of chowder. Food was excellent. My wife said it's the only fish and chips she's ever had that was better than mine. Service was good considering they were covered up busy. As a rule we don't eat twice at a location while on vacation but this one is tempting to return to. Prices were very reasonable for a larger city. I honestly expected to pay double what we did. Highly recommended if you're looking for what an Irish pub is supposed to actually function like.“

Service was friendly and fast. Food is good, well cooked, and very reasonably priced. We were there on a Wednesday for Open Mic Night and very much enjoyed the music. “The Cottage Bar is hands down the best meal I have ever gotten in New England! The Irish breakfast is spot on, the dinners are, absolutely breathtaking! the food is hot, each layer is as hot as the one before. I am amazed every time how the entire meal stays hot! The atmosphere is welcoming and kind. I always go with my husband and my toddler, they have never treated us differently. I honestly can’t wait till next visit. “A bar as comfortable as a well worn pair of shoes. A chill vibe and excellent food!Oysters were plump and fresh, their Asian prep is great: yuzu soy, ginger and wasabi. Very tasty! Their house cocktail sauce is good too.The Smoked Seafood.Chowder was a surprising standout! Chock full of smoked fish and in a "not too rich" cream base, this isn't an overly thickened chowder and one of the best chowder I've had.Lobster Roll is very good and well priced. Not too overly dressed and LOTS of minced lobster, topped off with a strip of bacon. Seems to be a P-Town thing, bacon on a Lobstah Roll. I'm not mad at it at all! Good sweet potato fries, the harissa sauce can use more harissa. The CURRY FRIES are legit!Good beer and whisky selection.“

This was the best I've had in the U.S. The fries were delicious and the cheese curds were perfect. We also tried the short rib hash which was also delicious. I had a bloody Mary and it was awesome. We'll definitely be returning. Brittany, the bartender, was friendly, funny, and provided great service!“

“**Eugene O'Neill's: A Hidden Gem by Forest Hills MBTA**Across the street from the Forest Hills MBTA bus station, Eugene O'Neill's exudes charm and warmth from the moment you step in. My recent lunch experience there was nothing short of delightful. From the get-go, the service at Eugene O'Neill's was exceptional. Attentive and friendly staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant meal ahead. My friend and I opted for classics: a BLT with avocado and a Reuben, both served with steak fries. The sandwiches were a revelation. The BLT, adorned with avocado, offered a refreshing twist on a beloved classic. Meanwhile, the Reuben boasted the perfect balance of flavors and textures, leaving us craving more with every bite. Accompanied by golden, crispy steak fries, each component of our meal was executed flawlessly. What truly stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the ambiance. Eugene O'Neill's possesses an inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening with friends. The cozy interior and welcoming vibe added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.Overall, Eugene O'Neill's surpassed expectations in every aspect. From the impeccable service to the mouthwatering fare, it's evident why this establishment is a local favorite.
