“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

Parking ?️ you have the option of looking for meter parking or parking in the garage which is less than 1/2 block and is a reasonable price . The price of the food is good for the quality and portion size .

Parking: Paid parking less the 1/2 a block the price is reasonable. Or you can look for meter parking but it’s a bit difficult .“

“This Turkish restaurant serves absolutely delicious and authentic food! Every dish I tried was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully prepared. From the kebabs to the appetizers and desserts, everything tasted homemade and satisfying.

While the atmosphere and location aren’t the most appealing, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. If you’re looking for great Turkish cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit.“

“An amazing gem in Belmont. I can’t recall ever having a more tender chicken than I had here. The portions for the main dishes are enormous so they’re worth the price. The staff were kind and attentive. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes and I highly recommend Cafe Vanak!

Vegetarian options: The menu offers an impossible version of some dishes and there are grilled veggie options as well.

Parking: There’s a small lot behind the cafe, and street parking seems reasonable.“

“I ordered the dry fried noodles and the small plate chicken. The service was quick (took 10 minutes). The food was nice and I enjoyed the fried noodles more than the chicken plate. It would have been better if the chicken plate had boneless chicken pieces. Quantity was also good but I felt like the price is too high. Overall a decent place that I would probably come back to try the other things on the menu.“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. “We have never been and it was one of the best meals we have had! The chicken was so flavorful and wasn’t dry at all. The sandwiches were delicious and portion sizes are not for the faint of heart. We had leftovers for 2 meals! The staff was kind and patient with us as we had a few extra questions since we had never been before. There were lots of people enjoying their meals and it was very clear that this was a local favorite. We will definitely be back!“

“I love this place. The food is amazing, Kafta, hummus, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, bastirma, you name it, it’s good. They even have some kid/picky eater friendly items like chicken fingers that are great. They’re adding pizza to the menu, and I can’t wait to give it a try.“

“Zam Zam is probably the only place in greater Boston that has done Pakistani cuisine properly. The Biryani and Chicken Karahi is the best anywhere in this region. Haleem and Nihari are also very good. My only suggestion is, please add aloo to your biryani.“

“During my trip to Boston, I visited a Pakistani and Middle Eastern restaurant that instantly felt like home. The owner, who I believe was also running the place, was incredibly friendly and served us with genuine warmth and hospitality. We ordered classic Pakistani dishes, and the chef also Pakistani prepared them right in front of us, which made the experience even more special. The flavors were just like back home, and after five days of traveling, I finally got to enjoy a sip of proper desi-style chai and I absolutely loved it! This place is a gem for anyone craving authentic taste and heartfelt service.“

“On one of the first days at my company, a colleague took me to the old New York Deli on Temple Street and introduced me to Kadhim. I couldn't understand why he would take the time - it's not like this guy is going to remember me out of all of the people who come through there. My mistake - every time I would see him over the years, at whatever location, Kadhim would come from behind the counter and greet me by name like an old friend. Understand - he was told my name once, over 20 years ago. I don't even go out to lunch very often - sometimes it would be years between visits to one of the Falafel King locations. But every time I enter, it's a big smile and greeting and an expression of appreciation that cannot be faked...go check them out!“

“Pretty standard halal cart food, but it's chipotle-style, where you can choose your own ingredients. Interestingly, chickpeas is one of those options, which isn't normally seen with the halal cart food. They have all the standard options like chicken, lamb, combo, platters and wraps.“

This is more of a bare bones, no frills type of place. As mentioned, it could easily be popped out of a street-side shop in Mumbai and implanted in Boston .
