I always thought New Deal in Revere set the bar on Italian subs but Anthonys takes the prize on this one. PS. I heard the eggplant parm sub is also the best you ever had! “This place is incredible. I was taking a long walk through Eastie and got hungry so I made my way over to Meridian. I walked in and asked about the Meridian Special sandwich, and the guy behind the counter was super nice and helpful and made the sandwich sound amazing so I had to order it. The sandwich was ready in a matter of minutes. This sandwich was the perfect size and full of flavor; sturdy crusty bread, perfectly cooked cutlets, nice saltiness on the prosciutto, fresh milky mozzarella, perfectly sweet roasted peppers and a nice little tang from the balsamic vinegar. I ate one half of the sandwich there and packed up the rest to finish at home, but I couldn't leave without making my way back up to the counter to let them know how delicious that sandwich was. Looks like I'm gonna have to make more treks into East Boston just to go to Meridian, as the Meridian Special is now easily in the top three of the best sandwiches I've ever had.“

“Catering. Chicken parm, eggplant parm & raviolis were excellent. Got chicken florentine too, ehhh. Expected it to come like the parm.(same price) chicken topped w spinach & cheese & sauce. But it was all chopped up & loaded with ziti. It was mostly a pasta dish. The biggest offense w it for me was that it had red peppers in it. Yuck. My fault I guess cuz I assumed it would be like I have had everywhere else. Everything else I ordered was delicious & eaten. Only thing I took home was a full tray of of the Florentine which will go bad cuz I don't like peppers. Prices are good too.“

“Great locally owned spot for breakfast. The food was fast and fresh! And a great value! I had the 3 cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes, they were skin-on reds! My young daughter (9) had the English muffin egg and bacon —she wholeheartedly agreed. Beats the socks off the chain places nearby with preprepped frozen foods being made by people who don’t care.“

“Fresh off an early flight in from Texas and we wanted to find a yummy deli. Yelp was spot on on this one. Easy parking. Great food. Loved the ladies helping us order. Recommend the Turkey club. I opted for a side salad instead of all the rest of the side options. Salad was loaded with sliced onions and carrots and a tasty Vinaigrette dressing. Quick in and out and a tummy pleaser.“

The staff was fantastic, as a chatty midwesterner I always want to talk, but the people of Boston do not. Once they found out I was from out of town they wanted to give me all the food advice, and were absolutely the sweetest. I had the Italian Grande, the Arancini, and a ricotta canoli. The sandwich was probably the best Italian sammie I've ever had, and I think my favorite meal in Boston overall. Just sad I didn't get to grab a sandwich on my way out of town.“

I'm a very picky person when it times to eating chicken I myself have not prepare, I'm also a plain Jane which means I like my chicken salad straight up with just chicken and mayo and salt and pepper. I don't know what Susan's deli does differrnt than I do but their sandwich is so incredibly good!!! si far I have not tried anything else because I'm actually addicted to the chicken salad sandwich.“

Very generous portions, packed with fresh crispy lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
