“Great tapas / quite filling“

“We went to cook on a Sunday for brunch on a table of 5 with 3 kids. Our server was Johnny who not only had everything on point but did absolutely everything to make sure we felt welcome, the kids were entertained (with extra drawings and crayons requests) and all that while he was training another server.

The food was really good (so much so that we plan to come back soon), we had draft and cocktails and we just didn’t try dessert, but the ambiance was nice, wasn’t too full and is definitely a great location to come back to.“

“Second time here. It was better than the first time around! We enjoyed many dishes but the venison and the dessert pasta with their wine pairings were big standouts. The music playlist is to die for as well! A great, special evening on a restaurant that felt a whole step above from our previous time.“

“The food is generally good. The hostesses are always the worst. First thing you see when you walk in everytime is people on their phones, not acknowledging you, not saying hi. Everytime. The BLT is the worst BLT I’ve ever had. The beer selection is great, although often out of selections (even month long specials). The bathrooms are often overflowing with trash. I also don’t think anyone likes those iPad things they try to promote every time I go there. Been here dozens of times.“

“Definitely a great place with great food that'll be your family to. Great quality food that makes it one of the best places in the area. The Burgers were the best burgers we had. Period. Well done, juicy and flovorful. We had the chicken sandwich, fish tacos and deserts. ( Creme Brulee and Brownie ). All the food was phenomenal. Staff is also extremely friendly and the ambience very inviting.“

“We recently stayed in Newton for a mini vacation from Canada (visiting Boston). Every night of our stay we ate at this restaurant. I know, not overly adventurous but when the food is this good and the atmosphere is right, why bother looking? You won’t find better! We tried: - Pan seared chicken: AMAZING. - Fish and chips: when you live on the east coast it’s hard to get good fish and chips but these hit the mark! - Filet Mignon: Full of flavour and tender. - Steak Tips: Again, tender and full of flavour. - Risotto: Wonderfully strong mushroom flavour but yet offset with a field of flavours. - Scallops: Seared to perfection. - Short-rib Meatballs: Meat and cheese combo to die for. - Calamari: Another difficult one to get right and find fresh! This was one of my favourite with the dip and hot peppers. - Sirloin: Cooked to perfection, flavour was a hit and a good portion size, well worth the money. THE HOUSE SALAD: All I can say, EMAIL ME THE RECIPE FOR THE DRESSING!! This was the best item for me on the menu. Fresh, simple and full of flavour. I got it with every meal. So to recap: 10/10“

“We had a wonderful experience and have returned a few times. All of our dishes were tasty except for the ninebark salad. It was delicious although for the price they were extremely skimpy with the lettuce, and I finished my salad and watched everyone else enjoy their dishes. If you charge that price point for a salad I believe you should be generous with the foundation of the dish which is lettuce.“

“POE-LENTA RESTAURANT REVIEW:

Poe-lenta at the Time Out Market in 401 Park is a place that really impressed me. The portions were exactly right, filling without being overwhelming, and the flavors came together beautifully. Every bite felt balanced and carefully prepared, turning a simple dish into something memorable.

The service was outstanding. My food was ready within two minutes, which is incredibly fast, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive. They even took the time to show me photos of the different meals before I ordered, which made the whole process much easier and more enjoyable. That kind of personal touch made the visit feel special.

One thing to keep in mind is that they only accept card payments, no cash, but for me that was a small detail in an otherwise excellent experience.

Overall Poe-lenta is absolutely worth trying if you are visiting Time Out Market or spending time around Fenway. Between the perfectly portioned dishes, the rich flavors, and the welcoming staff, it is the kind of spot you want to return to again and again.“

“Went for a business event. Visiting Boston from Copenhagen, Denmark. Nice food, good beer, nice atmos. But when we left it was heavy rain. Our Uber app didn't work for some reason. Tried to get a taxi. No luck. Went back in, asked if they could order a taxi, but the taxis would only come if we paid over the phone. Wasn't to keen about that. The manager said, after trying to get a taxi, I'll book an Uber, and she paid for it. She didn't want any payment. I only had 10S in cash which probably could cover it, or most of it. However beside the point, the manager covered our Uber ride, and just asked us to do a good deed to someone else instead. Wow, that was impressive and not something I have ever tried anywhere. A very beautiful end to a nice evening at the Yardhouse. Thanks a million, much appreciated.“
