“The hubby wanted to take me to lunch for my upcoming birthday..for our age and for our wallet we always go to lunch vs dinner...we are now already home with the pups in our jammies..so great...now as a self proclaimed foodie, I have wanted to try the food at Alma Nove at the Hingham Shipyard for many years...I am also a huge Wahlbergers show fan...adored their mom Alma on the show and her pal Phyllis...the show is so much fun..binge it if you haven't seen it..anyway...the weather today didn't look too spectacular for a waterfront restaurant but the blue skies showed themselves as we were eating inside...such a terrific location..the shipyard has been revitalized in the last 15 years or so...lots of shopping and dining destinations including the original Wahlbergers Burger Joint...I love this stuff...Dave is like ok whatever...but our experience was lovely..I will say however that my husband and I don't quite fit in the Hingham vibe...and it has a vibe..no shade but it kind of carries an air about it...the people I mean...lol...but we ignored all that and for sure enjoyed lunch..even Dave said how delicious it all was...our server...nice..we typically enjoy banter with our servers...he wasn't about that...all business and he gave us excellent service..but I do have the sense that more than likely the staff has high hopes of gaining maybe a walk on role on Blood Bloods with Donnie or maybe a handshake from Marky Mark when he comes through from time to time...hope for them it happens..fingers crossed...😉..about the food...great bread..seemed homemade but simple..fresh..served with butter that had black specks on it..turns out it was a black salt..interesting..a few drafts for Dave from Mayflower Brewery in nearby Plymouth and I had a lovely Pinot Noir...bottled water on the table..big fan of that..I ordered the Pan Seared Shrimp and Scallops served over a sweet potato risotto , topped with haricot verts(fancy greenbeans), toasted marcona almonds and truffle honey and my date had the Butternut squash Tortellacci with pan seared chicken topped with sage brown butter sauce, pecorino romano, apple cider gastrique and fried sage and chives..wow..we are styling here in the Shipyard...every bite was spot on and a perfect serving for lunch..we enjoyed all of it..dessert..well.of course..they have an in house pastry chef so that's a given for me..chose the Banana Bourbon Bread Pudding..when he returned he also brought a small chocolate dessert..like cake in a jar with whipped cream and a candle...he said they heard someone was celebrating a bday...we never said it so all I can figure is I posted that we were there for my bday and had tagged the restaurant...great social media connection if that was the case...we shared them and they were fabulous...took some photos around the place..ran into folks the hubby knew from Hull..absolutely highly recommend Alma Nove..those that aren't familiar with the background. ..The famous Wahlberg Brothers Donnie and Mark have a brother Paul who is the chef and owner of Alma Nove..named for their precious mom Alma and Nove in Italian means nine..there were 9 Walhberg kids..5 stars from me for Alma Nove.. Open daily for lunch and dinner. .I believe they have live music on Sundays and in the nice weather their outside patio overlooks Hingham Bay...a must try❤️ Mark has famously said their brother Paul is the most talented in the family...I believe that is spot on...“

“we had a wonderful experience all around on a busy Sunday. The manager, Russ, greeted us with a warm smile, setting the tone for a great evening. we sat outside and Jorge F, took great care of us. He was prompt but we never felt rushed. the food was excellent, the Lobster cones are a great new item. we also had the classic mussels. The grilled salmon was delicious. “I've come here a number of times and I've always had a good experience. This Tatte location is nice and bright with indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors there are a few booths, some tables, and high top/bar seating.

The employees are helpful and quick! The food is good, I particularly like the turkey avocado sandwich and the cherry and cheese danish.“

“As a tourist staying at a nearby hotel on my first visit to Boston, I had some early laundry chores to take care of. With about 40 mins to spare, I asked the laundry shop owner for a coffee suggestion, and he recommended I try Tatte Bakery & Café.

I left at 6:55 a.m. and arrived right as the doors opened at 7:00. The timing couldn’t have been better — the café was filled with the comforting aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the cakes were beautifully displayed, making the whole space feel inviting.

I ordered a regular latte + staff‑recommended Tatte House Latte (honey‑halva).
The classic latte was smooth and familiar, while the specialty drink offered a special flavor (suppose to be sesame but I felt spices instead) but is balanced.
What made the visit even more memorable was the cashier’s bright smile, which added a cheerful touch and lifted my morning mood.

Inside, the shop itself is fairly small, with limited seating. However, there are more seats outside, and the atmosphere there feels cozy and relaxed, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy a quiet morning.

For a first‑time visitor to Boston, I think Tatte is worth trying. It’s a café that many people introduce and recommend, and I can see why — the atmosphere is warm, the pastries look delightful, and the drinks are satisfying. Overall, I’d rate the experience 4.2 out of 5.“

“A huge thank you to the High St Tatte Team! In Nov-2024 on a work trip to Boston, I discovered (and fell in love with) their Gingerbread Tile cookies 🎄🎅. I returned this year and although it is early in the season, I placed an order and was determined to take as many Gingerbread Tiles as I could back home! “I uprooted from the South Coast area 5 years ago & landed in the Abington area. There are many lovely places around the area to eat but I can say no one place has ever prompted me to write a review till now. My fiance & I ate here less than a month ago & were back this week as we kick off 2026. We eat out about twice a week & this is by Far our favorite spot! After our 2nd visit, we left & couldn't stop raving to each other. We are so impressed with the food, staff, prices, drinks & I'd like to say staff, again, lol! We haven't yet had an opportunity to look into the entertainment but Ben's is on our list! HIGHLY recommend!!“

“Tatte bakery is a great place to get light breakfast brunch and lunch. as a first timer to anyone, I would recommend the turkey blat… only because you cannot add to anything that’s the owner has on the menu. You can but there’s limitations and it’s based on what the owner wanted as additions. To me it’s a interesting restaurant because if it fuse it, it’s culture. Or should I say that the owner wants you to enjoy what she thinks goes together. I don’t know. I just liked some of the stuff for what it is. I love their cheesecake too.“

“This Tatte location has genuinely become one of my favorite spots in Boston, and I want to take a moment to share why.

First of all, the space itself is wonderful. Unlike some of the smaller, more cramped Tatte branches, this one is generously spread out — there's room to breathe, and finding a table is almost never a struggle. The interior ambiance is beautiful: I especially love the floor tiles, the natural light, and how warm the whole place feels. Around sunset, the light hits this place in the most gorgeous way — it almost feels cinematic. Highly recommend coming by in the late afternoon if you can.

But what really sets this branch apart is the staff. The people working here are genuinely warm, welcoming, and kind. They don't just take your order — they ask how your day is going, they smile, they engage. It's the kind of small human interaction that's becoming rare these days, and it honestly makes me feel good every time I walk in. I leave in a better mood than I arrived, and that says a lot.

The branch is also impeccably clean, and the attention to detail is obvious. Whether it's the management or the team culture here, something is being done right.

I usually go for a coffee and an almond croissant — which I absolutely adore. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but the pastries here genuinely taste fresher and better to me than at other locations. The products are probably the same chain-wide, but there's something about this branch that elevates the whole experience.

It's a little bit of a walk from my place, but I happily make the trip every time because it's worth it.
