“After being unable to give a phone order for takeout at a snooty vegan place nearby that, snootily, doesn’t accept them, we were welcomed at Billy’s, even though they were surely busy when we called.When we arrived, we asked if they might have a bathroom we could use even though there was absolutely no apparent public restroom. Thing is, my friend is mostly blind and likes to drink coffee, meaning I always need to look for a place for her to go. Several employees went out of their way to accommodate us in their very tiny prep and kitchen spaces as we moved through to use their private restroom in the back. ?It was so very kind and thoughtful and if I could give them 10 stars I would! ?Simple consideration, like answering the phone to take an order and letting someone use the restroom even if it inconveniences their operations for a moment, demonstrates LOVE is still alive in the world and it can be found at Billys! OMG, and then there was the food!!! The omelettes were amazing, the home fries were delicious and when we wished we had gotten ketchup with our takeout, there it was in the bag, along with the extra napkins for my friend. “Excellent all around. The salad was a bit more ordinary, but the kale salad was really nice with a mix of flavors and hearty greens. The jerk chicken was moist and tender, and nicely seasoned. The chipotle chicken might even be better! Small flavorful tender bits all around. The mac and cheese was a bit lacking - with there was more cheese flavor to go around. The beans and rice was delicious. The nicest might have been the plantains; they were really not too sugary, but had a nice sheen on the outside and cooked beautifully. So good!“

I was craving a smoothie and decided to finally give it a try.I was intrigued by some of the odd smoothie options, and I was most intrigued by the Blueberry Muffin one, so I decided to order this one. It actually sort of tasted like a blueberry muffin in a smoothie form. It's definitely more on the grainy side with the almond butter, oats, pea protein, and cinnamon, but it is actually well-balanced with the flavors of the banana, blueberry, and orange. I probably won't get this again because I don't typically go for grainy smoothies, but I'm excited to try the other smoothies!I initially just came in for a smoothie, but I was so intrigued by the taco bowl with vegan queso, that I had to order that, too. The walnut taco meat was definitely a standout. I've never had plant-based meat made out of walnuts, but the texture and seasoning on it made it so delicious.
