“Today’s menu items are Beef Chow Mein, Honey Garlic Veal and Lemon Chicken. The sauce, noodles, veggies, and beef strips are the perfect combination. Add the crispy battered chicken covered in lemon sauce and honey garlic veal it completes a delicious supper. Not in the photos, deep fried wontons with the perfect amount of seasoning. Highly recommend!“

“Went here for dinner on a Sunday, we were the only ones there mainly because it was really cold out, they do take out and delivery orders within 3 km which is pretty good. The restaurant is small but the food was really good, the reviews didn’t lie at all. We ordered the crispy fried chicken, sizzling seafood plate, chicken egg foo yung, Cantonese fried rice, deep fried breaded shrimp and the chow mein. Both the crispy fried chicken and chow mein were just a little bit more on the saltier side but it was still really delicious ! Would come definitely come back again.“

“Where should I begin?! I have been sleeping on this place for too long. Moved to the area and this restaurant is like 4 minutes from home but this is my first time ordering from them, after watching all the TikTok videos. Server speaks English very well and actually listens and understands you, which makes the ordering process fast and efficient. She was also very nice when we came in and picked up. Total was 107.10 CAD, and look at the amount of food that we got. They told me I got a free chicken fried rice, but I did not know that they also gave two full container of white rice (one is missing from the picture), which turned out to be a lot of food lol 😂. Food quantity and quality is superb, tastes great and is way better than Southland's. I think this is my new go-to restaurant for Chinese food from now on. Thank you very much. If you have gone to Southland, you will be able to tell the differences in term of quantity and quality, and even the price 👍👍👍 this was only for the 2 of us but looks like it's gonna take us couple days to finish them all. Restaurant was very clean inside too.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic the food tasted, just like what I’ve had back in Hong Kong.

- Coconut Milk with Black Glutinous Rice Dessert was perfectly creamy and not overly sweet.
- Tofu and Roast Pork Belly with Rice had great texture and rich flavor
- Shanghai Stir-Fried Thick Noodles were savory and satisfying

“Incredibly delicious Northern Chinese food. The chili oil in the big bowl of hand pulled noodles is simply to die for. The cold dishes are equally as tasty. I recommend sitting near the kitchen to watch the hand pulled noodle magic happen :)“

“I liked their Cantonese fried rice. I’d buy 3 orders every week. Recently they raised the price and the container is now 2/3 full. The next time. They started to cut the pork so fine you can barely see it and absolutely not taste. Someone forgot to put in the salt. That’s two times in a row bad experience after buying from them for over 25 years. If they don’t return to right portions and tasty foods I’ll no longer buy from them.“

“It’s always good food going here at Huang Pu River. Just make sure to go n the off hours because they are always packed.

The aunties who serve are fast and efficient. You gotta psyche your self before going here too…it’s a no nonsense ordering….fast, loud and deal with some language barrier.

Our favourites are: Fried fish in ginger and soy sauce; Crispy Intestines in BBQ Sauce; Gailan with oyster sauce and garlic; Shrimp in Salted egg yolk; Pork belly stir fry with Jalapeño peppers.

I then called your restaurant, the fellow I spoke to was very kind and reassured me that they would correct the problem eventhough I was quite panicked. “We just had our child’s first birthday party here yesterday! Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Very nice to talk with. Only had a hiccup with the number of people per table as we thought most would be able to sit 10 person per table but we were able to sit everyone down. Nonetheless the food is super good, they cook their food here way tastier than their other branch. I would highly recommend this place but be mindful of the # of your visitors. I hope they would build a 2nd floor coz this place is really good. GREAT STAFF AND GREAT FOOD! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!“

“I recently discovered this hotpot place this year and I really enjoy the food. I love how you only pay for what you put in your bowl and they weigh it after. Their beef bone broth with mild spiciness is my fave. I wish they could add more variety of balls, meats, vegetables, and options for the sauce bar. Maybe they can add different broth flavour as well. Otherwise, it’s a solid hitpot place if you’re not into all you can eat hotpot and also looking for a cheap option.“
