“Why was this the BEST coffee I've ever had?! It seemed like a typical unsuspecting coffee shop, but it was clean, organized, had a lot of seating, cute merch, and a lot of food and drink options. After ordering, they hand you a laminated card from a deck and that's instead of an order number that they'll call out. Love it. The coffee though, was so good! Smooth, creamy, and not bitter at all - perfectly balanced. I wish it were closer to me because I'd go here all the time. I recommend the toasted marshmallow latte with oatmilk and the caramel frappe with oatmilk 🙌🙏“

Everyone I’ve interacted with has been lovely, but special mention to Eric, Daniel, and Grant, whose hospitality has been inviting and impeccable every time. “I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Looks like a bookstore from the outside, but guess what?! Well. It kind of is a bookstore. Because it’s IN a bookstore. But that’s part of its charm. The coffee is great, obviously. And they have tea. Just don’t you dare ask for chamomile. Or if you’re feeling playful, you can always get some hot choccy. They’re always playing great music too. A fantastic atmosphere. I go in every single day with my laptop to do some work and I swear, I accomplish more in one hour than a college kid on Adderall cramming at 4am for an 8am final. The real absolute rockstar of the show, though, is Madison. I think she might actually be superhuman. Once I ordered something and she told me no, I don’t want that, and then made me something else. And you know what? She was absolutely right. It’s like she was able to take her hand and reach it into the deep, dark recesses of my soul and somehow know more about me and what I want than I’ve ever known about myself my whole life. I will never question her on anything again. If you’re in Annapolis for even just one day, this place is a must stop. Just don’t come when I’m there, I’m trying to get some work done.“

“This place is INCREDIBLE! All the bakery items are delicious! It’s always consistent! It should be studied how delicious the pastries are!!! They have the best almond croissants in Annapolis!! The atmosphere is like Nana’s kitchen. It’s intimate and welcoming!“

“During a quick stay in Annapolis, we asked our hotel for a recommendation on where to get a good coffee, and they suggested Rise Up. They were right. The coffee was excellent, my wife enjoyed the muffin, and I had the double egg sandwich—simple but really good. The front dock seating is a nice spot to relax, making it a great place for a casual breakfast. We'd happily come back.“

“I can’t say enough about John, the manager. I have seen many great managers and you can tell John is striving and desperate to be identified as just that. Though he has a long way to go, I think he will achieve this goal. Only a few things to work on. Making a drink order as requested and opening the store on time are a couple small ones that stand out to me. I enjoy stopping by to see his slow but gradual progress.“
