“This was our second time at OLAR. The service and food is unmatched. Yesterday, Ellie did something a server has never done before. She asked me what drink I was interested in, I explained I want to try all of them but I cannot have Vitamin K due to a blood disorder and autoimmune disease. She asked me some questions about what I can or cannot have and what I liked. Then she said, “ I’m going to make a drink just for you!” She was making my drink and half way through she double checked if I can have egg whites, honey or agave. My heart burst because she really cared! A few minutes later she brought my wife and I our drinks. It was a gorgeous pink drink garnished with pretty flower petals. I think that’s what they were, I ate ‘em as I sipped this cocktail perfection that was safe for me to drink. I had two of these magical pink cocktails. Then as we were closing out our bill Ellie gave me the recipe on a server ticket. “The No K” was written at the top. “When you come back show the bar tender this and we will make it for you!” Y’all, that’s love! And as for the food…it tastes like love… no regrets.“

“This place is amazing. I really liked the atmosphere of a speak easy bar. Long secret staircase up to a top level ritzy dim lit room with greenery and chandeliers everywhere. The drinks were fancy and delicious and the happy hour appetizers were unbelievably delicious and came out super quick! I liked them so much I ended up getting a full meal too! Definitely want to bring my friends back here!Update: bar menu changed and both the temporary madness (dirty gin martini) and the beautiful one (coconut tropical nutty) were undrinkable. So disgusting. Honestly and I don’t like to waste alcohol and consider myself not picky at all. Horrible and embarrassed I took my friends here. The espresso martini was Okay.“

Wet City Brewery • $$
223 W Chase St, Baltimore

“Stopped by Wet City to watch the Raven's game. I'm not normally a football-watching kinda person and if I am going somewhere to watch, I prefer to stay away from the madness of Fed Hill or Canton, so Wet City felt like a nice alternative. It was packed! The inside is pretty cool with lots of fun artwork and colorful lights. They only have two small TVs which made catching a view of the game a bit difficult. Literally every seat at the bar and in the dining room was taken. Despite this, service was quick and friendly. I got the prickly pear slushie margarita which was pretty yummy. I also ordered a glass of their sparkling red wine which turned out to be canned. If I had known it was canned, I definitely wouldn't have ordered it. It turned out to be just OK. Sadly, they don't have any ciders here and only one seltzer option which makes the gluten free choices pretty limited. I did try a sip of the seltzer but it was oddly hoppy tasting and not to my liking. On this day, Big Softy was doing a pop up in the kitchen so the only food being served was that menu. His food is amazing and the pizza looked so good. However, I really wish I could've ordered wings or something that didn't contain gluten, so if you're going on the day of a pop up, just know their regular food menu won't be available. All in all, it was a fun visit (even though the Ravens lost) and I'd go back again soon!“
