5 stars - Have loved Tako for years! I miss the grill but the food is consistently tasty and presented beautifully.
I don’t even live in Maryland anymore but I’ve been eating at Tako Grill across multiple incarnations and locations since I was young, and the quality of the food has never disappointed. I love that in the space they’re in now, I can get specialty treats and BYO (or to-go!) sake to go with my rolls. A real gem of Bethesda.
The food tastes really good. The quality of sushi is better than any other places you find in other areas. The place is very clean too. We ordered a few rolls, soba, and katsudonburi which we find very authentic and good. The vegetables they used in soba seem very fresh too. Recommend!
Tako Grill is a hidden gem offering a delightful dining experience with fantastic and fresh sushi. The miso soup is great, and the service is wonderful. Customers consistently enjoy the quality of the food, including the Tonkatsu Bento Box and chicken teriyaki don bowl. The owner and staff are incredibly gracious, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. The restaurant also features a section for Japanese groceries and goods, which is appreciated by many diners as an added perk. Guests can grab a nice prepared meal along with good seasonings for home. However, some customers have pointed out that certain menu items, like the Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, may not always provide the best value. Overall, Tako Grill remains a highly recommended spot for authentic Japanese cuisine and a family-friendly dining experience.
