“A true diamond in the rough. This truly small business is easily passed by in a shopping center that time seems to have forgotten. Yet inside this nondescript little building with an aging sign are the best donuts you will ever taste. Come early though, because their homemade supply is gone by late morning. They won’t ever be stale, because they are gone before they are hours old. You won’t find a “bad” choice, but the potato, sour cream, and marshmallow are must tries. The owners serve them all up every day except Monday, and bring cash because that’s all they take. Oh, and be patient with them…yes they were just closed for a few months when they only expected a week to remodel, but that’s what happens when small business owners also suddenly become caregivers to aging parents. Family comes first, and the folks at Carlson’s are family to the Severn community and donut lovers alike!“

“I am a born and raised life-long Laurelite and had never had the opportunity to go to Little Tavern until they just reopened (my mom would never let us go). I made it there around 8am on a Saturday am and I was already late to the game in terms of donughts—I was insanely disappointed because I was going solely to get a sampler of donughts, but with a fresh newborn, sleep mattered and I was too tired to think about ordering sandwiches with the fast paced crowd in there.With the selection of donughts I did get, I was NOT disappointed! Hands down, the best I have ever had in my life and that’s including your Fractured Prune and Sandy Pony down at the beach. While they have the fancy frills, Laurel Tavern is purist. They’re light, fluffy, and melt with each bite. It was fantastic. I do not like jelly filled and their jelly was excellent. The Boston crème pie was lovely. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar which was outstanding. Classic glaze is a must in whatever selection you get.Staff was super nice!!! I will need to return during the week to try other flavors and my husband is dying for the sliders since it’s been a while from his last fix. I will be back during the week to try again and update the review then. We will be back for sure!

Parking: There’s a small lot behind, but people are coming and going so quick it’s not too bad. Can pull in easily from route one or the alley.“

“There are good donuts and there are good donuts. These are good donuts, they are a step up from something like a grocery store kind. I would say better than another chain donut store you see almost everywhere. Still looking for that good donut tho.“

“Every morning I go to pick up my coffee and my sandwich at this place because they serve me well, the coffee is excellent and the guys and girls who work there are very professional, especially the lady who serves me every morning at the window, I think She is Mexican and is very kind. I recommend it.“
