“Visiting from Texas and Colorado and Caribbean food was mandatory. We tried S&S based on pictures and reviews and it did not disappoint! We tried the lemon pepper wings, pasta, shrimp and grits, deviled eggs and oxtail sliders! Everything was amazing. We'll definitely back. Highly recommend!“

“This was my first time visiting the restaurant as I’m new to DC, just moved here from Atl this week. I had a taste for some Jamaican food and decided to try this Caribbean restaurant. The food was incredible and Marcus provided excellent service as well as the entire staff. First of all there are beautiful glass jar candles at each table( I sat at an high top), there are a few options for water, I choose sparkling (got to take the remaining sparkling water bottle home). Every one was kind and friendly which means a lot to me. I knew what I wanted to eat for my first time here, with one glance at the menu ordered the Red Snapper with Tamarind sauce and black rice, two Pineapple Chow adult beverages, and Rum Cake A La Mode (to go). Five stars for everything from the location(parked on the street), music, service, atmosphere, quality, and value. It gave me just the Caribbean vibe I longed for. I will be back for many more lunch/dinners.

“This place is amazing!!!! Not only because it is Black owned but also because it truly is amazing and tasty! It quickly became my go to lunch spot since I discovered it last month. The customer service is top notch and that matters to us customers. You can have a great establishment but when you have nasty employees, it keeps us away but this team truly understands world class service. I’ve always had great interactions with Kanye and Jimi since they’re the ones whose names I could remember at the moment?but I have not had a single negative interaction with anyone. “Celebrated a friends birthday there today. Service was excellent and management and the bartender all helped out to make for a great experience for my group. The guacamole was tasty as was the short rib hash. The vibes were awesome in there and even though my party got a hit loud the staff was extremely patient and willing to take care of all our needs. Drinks were flowing and the mimosas were great as well.“

“If you look in the urban dictionary for great “hole in the wall restaurant,” this is it! My wife and I just moved to the area and honestly have not found many restaurants that we would go back to. Family kebob our new go to for Indian.This is a small place with a few table and chairs and a small parking lot (free). The employees are extremely nice, talkative, and provided excellent service. The food was made to order and piping hot and fresh.My wife and I had: lamb kebob, lamb curry, and a side of their spinach. The spinach was amazing. I like that it is tasty but doesn’t have cream, which is typical. Very good.The lamb kebob is a huge serving and was the best dish there that we had. Followed by the lamb curry, which was also top-notch. I also liked their chickpea casserole. I would give the food a 10 out of 10.I would recommend maybe sprucing up the inside a little bit so that it would be more accommodating to people eating in, but this is definitely our go to moving forward and great for takeout.We paid about 47 bucks with a tip and had significantly leftovers. “The minute I realized I was in the area I made it top priority to get there and when I did that’s when Heaven opened up to me. Yes I was blessed with the words to say, “Oxtail’s please!” With a big smile and loving personality the woman taking my order walked me through the sides. I must say that it was very hard paying attention due to the great smells of other very delicious meals being prepared. The atmosphere is so peaceful and very helpful, as I became excited to taste the masterpiece that was being produced just for me. So as I was called up to collect my meal all I could think about was eating, and yes you guessed right I didnt make it back to work however I pulled over in the parking lot and devoured the delicious food.
