“Great ambiance and service in this Michelin star restaurant with food to match. We got the tasting menu to try a bunch of dishes and overall thought the food was still similar to Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern food I’ve had before but with a unique twist on the vegetable dishes.My favorites were the cauliflower hash (reminded me a lot of Gujarati shaak that I ate growing up) and the halloumi + muhmmara dips. Unfortunately, I thought all the cocktails were very mid, so I wouldn’t recommend drinks there unless it’s something you already know.”

“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!”

“Possibly the best food I’ve ever had in the DMV meets incredible service. They didn’t have the dessert we wanted, so they comped us the one we chose instead. Also, as someone who is sensitive to gluten, dairy, corn, and peanuts, eating out is often extremely tricky and limited, but I was able to choose from maybe 70% of their menu, which is super impressive. Great spot if you have dietary restrictions and want a lot of options.Just a note, you definitely want a reservation. “Orders are placed via phone or you can order at the counter but the tip defaults to 22%. I’m a generous tipper but am annoyed at this, esp when our server didn’t return with sugar after being asked for it or to check up on us. Otherwise, it’s a very cozy place.”

“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.”

“We went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday after watching the Netflix show. We were seated promptly our server was pleasant but left us feeling disappointed in this experience. “We were bowled over by this place. We got there at 4.45pm as a walk in and were sat straight at the bar. Get there early if you want a seat! The food was absolutely outstanding, but Andrew the lovely bar waiter was the highlight of the night for us. He was so warm. informative and professional. Very much recommended.”

I had a blast selecting (at random, but nothing disappointed!) and my friend got the flight to help guide him, which he loved.Food was fine, acceptable, but for the cool environment I would have figured higher grade in the cuisine. Admittedly the snacks/small plates were far higher quality than the main dishes so maybe the intention was to drink and small plate.Service was good, they made sure we had what we needed but I would have loved a bit more enthusiasm for such an amazing collection.Overall great experience and would go again!”

“Buzzy place, quite busy for Sunday brunch. The cronut was fresh and delicious. The gravlax mezze plate was unusual which is why I ordered it. The food was good. But the music blasting spoiled the experience for me - and I was solo so wasn't trying to chat, which would have been impossible to hear anything!”

“St Vincent is consistently a slice of heaven here on earth and my favorite “good in the hood”. The service, ambiance, bites and vino are unmatched. And now that there is live music in the garden, it is in a league of its own. The pop up with the Eritrean chef a few weeks ago was a pleasant little twist and I look forward to more of these curated experiences. This is my go to happy place—-home away from home and I cannot recommend it enough!!! Great date place or just gathering spot with your friends.”

“We are obsessed with Revelers hour! It’s so cozy inside and the food is always delicious - the garlic knots are a must. Great alternative to tail up goat , more food for less price! Our waiter was great at selecting wines for our table. Also good for vegetarians too - plenty of options I could choose from! The tortelli and the ceaser are some of our favorites.Vegetarian options: Multiple pastas and appetizers for vegetarians!”

“The food was good, but definitely not worth $57 a person on a Thursday night….We ordered four dishes (fermented cabbage toast, arancini, thai fried chicken, and scallop crudo) and had a drink each. Portions were small, even the “entrees.” Will not go back anytime soon for dinner. Our waiter was very nice though.*Came back over a year later for dinner because of an InKind Coupon. The $50 off $50 made the meal more worth it. But still expensive for what youre getting.”

“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!”

“Overall - 8/10. The service was very friendly. At first but was slow to get our drinks, but once our order was in everything came fast. I love the small hole-in-a-wall feel. My son described the service as "uncomfortably nice" as an indication of how friendly everyone was. We ordered the Heavenly Pork and the Crab Basil fried rice. My rice was really good and had a generous portion of lump crabmeat. My son's Heavenly pork was really good according to him. He was just getting over a stomach issue so he couldn't order it spicy as he would like. The mild wasn't spicy at all. We also ordered Thai teas which I would say were the weakest part of the meal and they were still good. It's neck and neck with Kook Kai's Noodle House in Silver Spring.”

The Lamb Masala had incredible flavor and Mahee had a wonderful crust. We had a hard time deciding on the best dessert. The Cacao, Sheer Berenj, Sheer Yakh, and some pistachio cake were a perfect sweet finish.”

“I hadn’t been here in years since they changed ownership. Looking at some of the reviews I was leery. Boy am I glad that I didn’t listen. Went here for dinner last night and everything was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken, fried catfish, lambs, crab cakes and sides of Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collards, potato salad, and corn bread were all superb. It definitely tasted like eating at your grandmothers. The potato salad was just like my Gma’s; finely diced with celery, celery seed, and a slight tang of mustard accompanied by a slight sweetness. The collards are vegan hence no meat but were still delicious, tender, and flavorful. The drinks were delicious as well. The portion sizes were quite large with everyone having leftovers except for the lamb chops they were so delicious that my friend ate all of them. Matter of fact when she accidentally attempted to cut them with the wrong side of the knife it still went through. Couldn’t recommend more supporting this black owned business.”

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.”
