“Really delicious and awesome vibe! This is a creative Asian place where I would say noodles are their forte. The area is really small and cozy, with great decor. They only seat about 20 people at a time in their space, so I would reserve or come early. We came as they opened and were seated as a party of 5.For food, LOVE the brontosaurus! The broth is excellent and rich but too too rich, nicely smoked ribs, excellent selection of side veggies and the noodles had a great texture. The noodles in the mazemans were the same noodles as the brontosaurus, but the mazeman has no broth and so I prefer the brontosaurus. The ribs in the brontosaurus could’ve been more tender but I still loved it overall! Pork buns were good as well. Beautiful presentation and great taste on all! And nice edgy underground atmosphere/decor and reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen“

“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.“

“My first Ramen experience was a tasty one! The team at Jinya delivered all the deliciousness in my custom Ramen bowl, and outstanding service from Ashley and Chris. Everything was fresh and I could eat those noodles and broth all day.. rainy day, cold day, warm day, it wouldn’t matter because it’s just that yummy! If you like Pho, you’ll love Ramen from Jinya, it gives you that internal hug that everyone deserves.“

“The spot is very cozy and small . The place was really busy for a Sunday afternoon. I came here with with a friend based on his previous experience and we were not disappointed. We had a bit of a wait when we first entered the restaurant because of how popular and small the restaurant is it is. Be prepared to wait also ,it is a bit cramped and there isn't ample space between tables. I ordered the Sakuramen Ramen with Chicken Spice Level 4 . The amount of noodles given was sufficient, and the broth was really hot and flavorful. Will be back to try more of the menu when in Adams Morgan“

“A ramen shop that serves some hearty meals in a fun-looking interior with colorful lights and designs. The staff are attentive, and the food is brought out quickly. I would recommend their Black Miso Cheese Ramen, which had a good broth, especially compared to the Tokyo Ramen. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles, as they were a little on the tough side. We also tried the Tako Corn Dogs, which were on the doughier side and would not recommend.“

“I also wanted to select ambiance. But weirdly it won't unless I type it I'm so happy I selected to come here out of all the options around me. I ordered the Chaplin A.S.S. and it was phenomenal. The people working there were amazing. I highly recommend prioritizing this place.“

“Bantam King is my go-to spot for a great meal when in downtown DC. I lived right by here for 2 years, and every time I went to Bantam King, I had a fantastic meal.I've eaten a ton of fried chicken in my life all over the US, and a decent amount across DC. I can absolutely say that their fried chicken platter is some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I've also had the chicken ramen. Both my wife, who is a huge ramen lover, and I think it's fantastic.I also enjoy the mint sweet tea, and the desserts are really good as well. The atmosphere is super fun as well, great for any small group or couples. You probably won't be able to get in with a massive group (it's a small space)...but that's not what this place is really for.I've eaten here on my birthday the past 2 years, and I see that continuing in the future.“

“I come here quite often when I am in the area to grab take out or get a delivery. Everyone working there is very nice and helpful and the food is fantastic as well. The fatty tuna is delicious and reminded me of the ones that I got in Tokyo and at Tsukiji market. This is my go-to place for sushi ? So if you are looking for a quality meal, this is your place!“

“Good prices, good food, and wonderful service! We went here since it was conveniently right next door to a concert at the 9:30 club. But it is definitely one of my favorite places in the DC area now!Prices were extremely reasonable for the DC area, it ended up being ~$25 per person with a happy hour drink AND a desert per person with the ramen. Everything was amazing, the drinks were excellent, if a little dangerous. The ramen was, of course, amazing, 100% get the spice/veg bomb, one is enough for ~2 people and it adds a perfectly spicy touch. The deserts were also perfect, their new fried dessert bao was super unique and I'd go back for that on its own.The service was super nice and knowledgeable and really added to the whole meal (Thank you Eden).“

“First time visiting & it was good. Dining in with beer & sake:Takoyaki: exceptional, definitely order them if visiting.Shrimp Shumai: good.Gyoza: tried steamed and probably be better to order fried.Rolls: Philadelphia & Salmon with Avocado - both good.Suggestions: Takoyaki & Shumai, any rolls. Could skip Gyoza.General information: this place is pretty busy, so you may want to make a reservation for a party. Seating consists of dining room & outside patio. Place itself across from Whole Foods. Parking garage is 5 minutes walk.Pricewise: about $85 with 3 appetizers to share, 2 rolls, sake & beer.“

“Absolutely some of the best ramen I ever had. Every element was flavorful. I also enjoyed the pork bun and the cold sesame noodles (the pickled ginger was such a nice touch!). This was my first time eating from her, but it definitely won’t be my last!“

“No frills. Just amazing ramen, chanpon, tan men, and tsukemen. After many a bowl here my favorites are the hot & sour ramen (a must) and the garlic men. I'll give the curry ramen a shout out as well but the hot & sour ramen rents space inside my head for free.“
“Just had this for the first time. Got the red ramen. Easily one of my favorites in DC. Don’t let people who rate 1 star because their kitchen isn’t a “normal” restaurant deter you, people have gotten creative with their businesses to make them most sustainable since the pandemic. The food is fantastic.“

“I got the curry ramen and it was absolutely delicious! My friend got the tom yum ramen with shrimp and said it was also fantastic. We also had the plum wine, which was lovely. The service was fast, though I'm personally not a fan of mobile ordering (the cell data there was not good) they made ordering not too much of a hassle. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute with all the eclectic decor. I would come back!“

“Diverted here for my birthday lunch as I was planning on going nearby but once I saw Rakuya, I NEEDED IT! I'm so glad we did, the food was delicious and the servers were attentive but not overly so. It was a busy Friday lunch so it was PACKED. The vibe feels authentic (we lived on Okinawa for 3 years) but the tables were SO CLOSE TOGETHER that I felt like I was trying to scooch by down an airplane aisle which also meant that it was so easy to hear the neighbors' conversations.“

“The Tory, fatty, tuna was very tasty. It’s kind of like the wagyu of tuna. It’s a fatty version that’s very rich and flavorful. I had a couple pieces of that as a starter. It was a goodI also had the Tokyo Ramen. It was very rich and tasty. It tasted fairly fresh. I would definitely say if you are in this area it is a great spot to get a good bowl of Ramen. I’ve kind of been ruined since I tasted really good Ramen in Tokyo last year. I’ve yet to find anything that quite matches that. But, this is a really good and tasty bowl of Ramen.“

“Thought this place was great. I had a Sapporo, and they must turn them over pretty quickly because it was fresh, not skunky. Got the soup dumplings--great flavor, piping hot, not too liquidy. Smoky noodles--chewy black mushrooms, baby bok choy, kimchee, a little spicy but not too hot. Service was fast and friendly. Liked it and would go back to try more.“

“This location just recently changed hands, and the new food is great. My friend and I just got back from Japan and needed to scratch the itch for more sushi. We visited here for lunch, and I was delighted to find that the sushi here was just as good as the sort we were dining on in Tokyo. Sadly, the prices are more normal-for-sushi-in-the-USA, but not at all unreasonable for the generous portions. (A couple plates of rolls and a side dish was plenty for us.) I strongly recommend the fire cracker rolls and the miso soup.“

“Yummy food with a great atmosphere! I had the Salman Gohan, which is a bowl with rice with salmon, corn, and other great flavors on top. The ratio was good to mix everything together, with a bit of rice left over at the end. It tasted very good, but it cost $18. The portion was sufficient for a meal, but I would have liked a bit more salmon for the price. The quality is good, but for $18 I prolly would have preferred all you can eat dinner at the dining hall. The service was really good and any questions I asked were promptly and politely answered. I got my food 5 minutes after the time I was told by the automated text message, and this wasn’t good because the person I was with had to catch their bus. The atmosphere is great, with a wood and plant theme. The kitchen is visible and connect to a tabletop with barstools. There is a cool large mural on one wall. I will definitely be back here to try some ramen and onigiri, but for now I give Onikama Ramen Bar 4 stars!“
