“I'm from the south and I couldn't find good BBQ. I've been passing this place from FT Dix to my home in Frederick for a year. OK you got me, and I wish I could get that whole Chicken not a 1/2. You have my vote #1 get CHUBBYS. Also the new hostess is awesome give her a raise April 12 2024“

“awesome food. my favorite sandwich is the Tuna melt on sour dough bread. you can't go wrong. it is hard to resist all the baked good on the counter at checkout. and the broasyed chicken is fabulous, even the breast Is juicy. if you get the chicken get the homemade ranch dressing to dip it in.“
“I have been there twice for lunch & for dinner on holidays. Both times I was a guest so I'm not sure if the cost. The atmosphere is high-end rustic... antique with modern fixtures. Make sure to look up and see the train running around the track. The servers are mostly young ladies and there busy the whole time... very friendly, and they remember most requests for refills on food and drinks. The food is holiday typical; turkey ham stuffing mashed potatoes carrots green beans etc. It is served family style; brought out in bowls, they're passed around the table, and ask for refills. They also have hot spices cider while your waiting to be seated. And the meals are served in shifts meaning they fill the restaurant, serve everyone the same food, the clear the restaurant and reset for the next meal... you will need a reservation. I recommend trying it.“

“Had an absolutely amazing dinner here today, I got the special, grilled chicken with peppers and onions over rice and I was beyond satisfied. After a disappointing attempt at dinner in downtown Gettysburg, we went here and were so thrilled. This will replace the aforementioned restaurant as a regular place to “

“Great little hole in the wall restaurant! If you blink passing through town, you will miss it. I have never been able to eat breakfast for such a reasonable price anywhere! The owners really care about the food as well as all the regular customers! If you're ever passing through fairfield, it's definitely worth stopping at for breakfast or lunch! You won't regret it!Vegetarian options: Some options“

“My first job in the restaurant industry before I went to culinary school and became a Chef was in a family restaurant in Carroll County (Bullocks) . Walking in to Mountain gate reminds me a lot of that down home, southern , country feel . Healthy options on the salad bar , a great selection of sweets ( and sugar free) on the dessert bar , and lots of mom and pops meats and potatoes in between !Vegetarian options: Salad bar is fresh and clean !Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, dairy free, nut free , sugar free options!Wheelchair accessibility: Bring your grandma and grandpa , brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews! They can do wheelies in their wheelchairs and motorized scooters!“

“We came here for breakfast and it was fantastic! We ate at the bar, with the "regulars" and they made us feel right at home. We had the crab cake benedict, the breakfast pizza and the ham and egg sandwich. The portions were large and everything was really tasty. The menu and décor screams diner, but the food is way better than that. It is a family business- food cooked by the two matriarchs of the family. I would highly recommend this place.“
