“My wife and I went to the Carriage House Inn to celebrate her birthday yesterday. It was our first time there. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar. The bartender Mike was wonderful! We even met one of the owners. Our dinner was delicious, the scallops and filet were perfect. I had the Emitsburg it was a great choice. Dessert was cream brulee. Best we have had in years. Cat our waitress was lovely, attentive and explained exactly what the Emitsburg was since I had never had it before. We left full from our dinner out and full of joy since we have a new place to eat out special or just to drop in for a burger. Btw they even sang Happy Birthday to my wife.“

After checking out the options nearby, we chose Rube’s—and what a pleasant surprise it was! We ordered crab cakes, fried haddock, jumbo fried shrimp, a bacon cheeseburger, French fries, onion rings, mashed potatoes with gravy, crab soup, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. Everything was absolutely outstanding in flavor! The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even better. If we’re ever back in the area, we’ll definitely be returning to Rube’s!“

“My husband and I always dine at Dobbin House while visiting Gettysburg, which is conveniently close to outside of Harrisburg. The food, atmosphere, and service have always been excellent. We've been coming here at least biannually since before we got married. We typically order steak and crab cakes. The entrees come with delicious homemade warm bread, side salads, and baked potatoes. However, I would NOT recommend this restaurant for families with young children. Our 9 y/o was so excited for a "fancy dinner" and got dressed up. And our 1.5 y/o was very well-behaved in her high-chair. She was occupied with books, toys, coloring, etc. But a few other patrons were visibly and audibly judgmental of us having kids there. They were also rude to our server, who was lovely. We heard them scolding her about how long it took for their wine to arrive (which wasn't long). I worked in the service industry for years so I took notice of this. I'm still recommending it, because it's not the establishment's fault, but wanted to warn other parents that this isn't a child-friendly place, and the patrons can be very uppity. I know it's considered "fine dining," but our children are well-behaved and respectful, and we still deserved a nice night out. We spent around $160 and left feeling like we weren't welcome at all on our first experience of family vacation. It was such a disappointment because we have always loved going here. It was very off-putting. I could understand if our toddler was being loud, but we know how to handle her in public, and honestly the guys who looked like they just ended a round of golf were louder than she was! I forgot to take photos because I was so annoyed by the loud remarks about us having the audacity to bring our little ones there. They still get 5 stars because every other experience we've had there as a couple has been wonderful! Just wanted to give parents notice.“

“My wife and I went on our first date since we started our relationship 6 years ago my sister recommended this place and when we got there we were welcomed politely the waiter was amazing and friendly the two burgers of the day is what my wife and I received. We got a amaretto sour and honestly this is one of the best overall experiences I have ever had the food the people everything was amazing and this really did make my day so thank you very much for the hospitality and amazing burgers“

“A great little place to get out of the heat and have a great bite to eat. It’s so hot out today and the cold Club Sandwich was perfect! Sierra our server was prompt and kept checking back on the 3 of us, our granddaughter said her sandwich was delicious and my husband had the cheesesteak and pasta salad. The restaurant is really clean and sporty with baseball memories. Absolutely recommend it!“

“The food was probably the worst I've ever seen at a buffet. my wife is currently sick in the bathroom, im probably not far behind her. Only a few items were edible and now we are regretting them as well. Staff was average, building is beautiful. Do not eat the food. There is also a water warning from the DEP. Do not drink, freeze, boil or let water stand. the food is sitting over steam trays. They only post the warning sign in the bathroom. Wonder why. good luck eating there.“

“–50 The bar is very nostalgic. I ate in the restaurant section and it has a throwback vibe to it. The service was good and so was the food. My only complaint is the red skinned mashed potatoes seemed to be microwaved. I got the mushroom chicken with a cream sauce and it was excellent. Definitely a cool stop to grab a pint and a bite to eat.“

“What a great place! We were passing through and decided to swing in here. The parking lot was packed when we arrived & for good reason. The people were friendly and the food was delicious. Uncle Dirty even made sure to point out our Penn State shirts and gifted us a bottle of barbecue sauce! Would highly recommend!“

“We were visiting Gettysburg and decided to check out Mason Dixon for brunch on Sunday. Our crew had the most amazing breakfast. We had beignets and then eggs Benedict with pulled pork. It was nothing short of fantastic!! Emily was a fantastic waitress and took amazing care of us. Meeting with the owner was an extra touch with great customer service. He was taking time to greet almost every group that came in to eat. Highly recommend coming to enjoy all that they have to offer with great food, drinks and beautiful atmosphere. “My family came here on a whim when craving pizza yesterday and man it was such a great experience. Quant and clean, with a traditional vibe. The venue speaks for itself but my wife Raven and I really want to give thanks to Brian, Loree and the rest of the team at Springfield Manor. From the communications before the wedding to the wedding day itself they were fantastic.

Brian and the team were always responsive to our questions.
We also noticed how Brian treats his team members cuz it extended to how his team treated us and our guests .

I had the Thai salmon over veggies (spicy) with rice — perfectly cooked, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The girl that had sat us came back and said the manager was to busy doing inventory but she told her the reason we wanted to see her. “My golf group (15 men) was at Carroll Valley Ski Liberty 9/14-9/26. On Sunday & Sunday we all ate dinner at Eagle and the Owl restaurant. I had Salmon entree on Sunday and Steak the next night. Both meals were very good and all the group members voiced similar views.
