“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!“

“On July 25th I ordered 1 doz. Large Steamed Crabs ($95) from Madonna Seafood. Madonna "used" to be the best place for crabs. They were always consistently seasoned well....that was not the case yesterday. This dozen was completely dried out...they were either VERY overcooked or my guess is they were re-cooked. Definitely not worth $95....please retrain your steaming team or you will lose business. i will be going elsewhere.“

“Sushi tastes fresh with each flavor and texture distinct. The shrimp tempura was crisp, vegetables and shrimp were well cooked to perfection. The green tea had just a slight flavor of sesame oil(if is suppose to be that way.
Japanese music played on speakers, Japanese themed cooking show on TV added to the atmosphere. Little touches to the decor added to the ambiance. Kabuki mask on the wall, vintage pillow in the booths, traditional soy sauce pots.
Prices are reasonable.

“Our food was excellent and service was outstanding. Dawn was our waitress, It has been a long time since we had a waitress that earned her tip. Dawn took our order, served our order, check on us several times while dining, and finally gave us our check. Most waitress now take your order and give you your check and want a 20% tip.“

“We allowed our young daughter choose where she wanted to eat for her birthday, and she chose Hot Pot. I asked if they had any desserts in the back so I could place her candles and sing to her. To our surprise, they brought out a special slice of cake decorated with a Teddy Graham, Skittles, M&Ms, whipped cream, chocolate, and a candle. They also presented her with a beautiful bracelet, snapped a photo, presented a lit up a signboard, and played a sweet birthday song over the speaker. They truly went above and beyond to make our little birthday girl feel special. Throughout the meal, the staff continuously refilled the food area with fresh meats and vegetables, kept our pots full of broth, and promptly cleared dirty dishes and trays. This style of dining requires a lot of work, and they handled it exceptionally well - always pleasant, attentive, and happy to answer our questions with a smile. I highly recommend this restaurant. They also have larger tables that easily accommodate bigger parties. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful evening and for helping us in making memories celebrating our daughter on her birthday .“

“Food has always been delicious. Our server Tiffany was wonderful. The grilled chicken with cheese LT and fries was very reasonable and tasty at $15. Unfortunately our app of Mozzarella Kabobs was quite small. Two skewers with 8 quarter size pieces for $12 was very over priced. Suggestion either increase the quantity of the app or please lower the price. Definitely will not order that again.“
