As another example, I was shocked to see a review giving them only 3 stars commenting she got sick (even though she said she loved the food there). I was wondering if she did not cook her food well in the hot pot, or she couldn't handle the spices.“

“We have a big party in Choyhona on Saturday, March 9th. The tables were set beautifully, salads and kebabs were tasty (most recommend Kutabi with meat). Everything was served in time. Waiters were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.“

“I dropped in during Happy Hour by chance for a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Happy Hour Specials applied to table dining at full sized portions. It was great opportunity to try a pizza and a queso appetizer affordably.

They both were very tasty. The portion size of the queso was smaller than expected but so rich and flavorful that it was satisfying and good to share.

The atmosphere was family friendly despite many people meeting for drinks. My 11yo and I were comfortable and enjoyed our early dinner. I’ll return to try other menu items.“

Now the food… absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was bursting with rich, layered flavor. The chicken tikka was the highlight- tender, rich, and perfectly coated in a creamy, spiced sauce that was out of this world. You could taste the depth of the spices without anything being overpowering. It was bold, balanced, and completely satisfying.

We also loved that dine-in came with real plates and silverware- it felt more like a relaxed restaurant than a casual counter spot. Portions were generous, prices were totally fair, and everything tasted homemade and fresh.

“I would give it five stars if I could!! There are sooo many vegan options, just about as many as the non vegan options. The vegan menu is separate and clearly labeled. Staff/owners are so friendly, too. Prices are reasonable. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and plenty of parking on site. Definitely recommend this place- it's my favorite place to get vegan food in Gaithersburg.“

“We celebrated Diwali here this evening and they were extremely accommodating as we had 28 people. They treated us like family and the food was excellent. They had a Diwali special Masala coke that everyone enjoyed so much. Special thanks to Dinisha who was an excellent host and took care of everything, so thankful for her. “Consistently the best food in Rio! Service is always good, and the food is excellent! The pickings for good food in Rio have become slim over the years with constant restaurant closings but Guapos has survived for a reason.
The queso is to die for, my favorite in the area for dine in Queso Blanco. Also every wait staff I've had tend to my tables has been attentive and kind.
There will probably be a wait for a table but it's worth it if you're in Rio already for a movie or something, as there's really no better place to eat in Rio.“

All the food was great except I wasn't a fan of the rice.. didn't taste like normal Mexican restaurant rice.. it tasted like the Knorr Spanish rice, which if you've ever had that before, it tastes very plain. The food was hot and ready and the girl who helped was friendly. I was searching all Mexican restaurants in the area and this one had the best prices as well.“
