“We love prigels so much. We go every week! Not only are the staff SO friendly but it’s family owed business and you definitely feel that love. We had a dog that was crossing the rainbow bridge so I went there to pick up some ice cream as a treat. The girl working saw me sobbing, asked and then paid for the ice cream out of her own pocket. Literally. Pulled her wallet out and paid for it. Just a small prime example as to why they’re the best!”

“My first visit here and I was absolutely blown away by every aspect .... the service, attention and graciousness of the staff is well beyond 5 stars. Juanita recommended so many things to help make my experience so enjoyable. The food was outstanding! She recommended the buffet so that I could try several things I was interested in. Others on the staff showed me some presentations for the way some items are traditionally served. What a wonderful dining experience in Bel Air! Highly recommend this restaurant!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“Truly a gem of a place. My wife and I dont get out too often as we have a new little one to care for so finding time and a place for date night is essential for us.

From start to finish everything was excellent, we went with the curated menu and let the chef take us on a ride and we weren't disappointed.”

“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!”

“First time and the atmosphere was great, little small for volume of patrons. The Hostess, "Crystal" went above and beyond and truly brings the vibe, knows her role, her ability to engage customers, her energy.. The food was and the presentation of the Flight Sampler was cool little birds.. We had Coco Bread(Better than Texas Roadhouse) , Salmond with Rice n peas and coconut cream sauce AND Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta. Topped off Crystal made me a personalized Mother's Day dessert of warm pound cake with vanilla ice cream and drizzle on top.. She definitely "Loves what she does" It ALL made for a great experience.”

“I dined there for the first time tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and perfectly decorated. The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. It’s a busy restaurant for obvious reasons, but the staff made the experience a great one. The owner Carlos was super nice and stopped by to say hello to us as we have a mutual friend. “I've been coming to Golden West for two decades but this morning was the first time I came with my kids (4 years and 20 months). They had high chairs, coloring pages, and our server put our kids' order in first so they could have their pancakes quickly. No one made a big deal out of us wandering around a bit with our 20 month old. And the food was delicious! Chef's kiss to the Christmas style breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo and the peaches and creme macha latte! So often with little kids it feels like you have to choose between kid-friendly and really good food. Thanks so much Golden West for doing both!”

“Always an amazing meal at Mission! We enjoy it every time, and the only thing that would make it more enjoyable, would be some handcrafted Mission BBQ PICKLES. That would be a huge addition to the menu, be it dill or some other style. Just enough of a vinegar crunchy bite to perfect an already perfect meal!”

“I think I died and went to heaven lol. I was at a neighborhood outdoor festival and ordered from their food truck there. I expected it to be half the amount of food I received and delightfully surprised at the amount of food I got for $11! I can see why they have 100% positive ratings. Quality and quantity at the same time is rare! I ate the tofu nuggets with the peanut sauce and my pallet hasn’t experienced that type of satisfaction in decades lol! 🤩😋 Delicious!!!”

“We come to eat at the Rosedale location maybe once a month. Even on long waits when we are extra hungry, we always request Draven because he is a rockstar! Our drinks are never empty and requests such as extra napkins, gloves, bibs etc are always met expeditiously. We never have to wait long for food and it is always fresh and hot. Our family are creatures of habit and we typically get the same thing every time. Let’s start with the clam chowder. A generous bowl with a heaping portion of clam. We especially enjoy the crackers on the side for our picky toddler to nibble on. For dinner I always get the Cajun boil with the hook n reel blend *spicy* with sausage and hard boiled eggs as an add on. I like to get a 20 oz. draft ipa. It pairs very well with the spiciness of the boil. Our toddler usually ends up with tenders and sweet potato waffle fries. Recently she has started to eat broccoli (hallelujah!) so we get that on the side as well. For a family of 3, we spend around $130. If you request Draven, please expect to be amazed by the service and expect to tip at LEAST 20% for impeccable service. For those bad at math, 20% of $130 is $26, which I like to bump up to $30. Sorry this was so long! If you got this far, enjoy your dinner at Hook n Reel in Rosedale. We always do!”
