“I love this bar, and have gone there for 30 years. Its a great place to go for a beverage, good conversation, or to exercise your skills on the felts with all the pool tables. The only critique I could think of is that they could honestly use some regular bar snacks or bites of any sort available to patrons all the time, but they do occasionally make food on holidays and special occasions to share. That and the aesthetic could use some modern making over. Plenty of parking. Plenty of elbow room. Small neighborhood bar vibes. Never any drama.“

The bar itself is nothing but a hole in the wall place they have no drafts but can make a nice Rita the food is pizza, wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks the basics and they have pool, darts, keno and all the other distractions you'd expect but if you're looking for a place with all the bells and whistles keep going but if you're in the mood for a cold drink in a dark dank place this is it. 😜😁“

“The is a true local gem. The bar is decorated in a 1970’s theme. They offer old timey beers like Stroh’s and Schaefer as well as inventive cocktails. The menu consists of unique pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Their wings are tender, tasty and delicious. The bar has a pub like quality and the clientele is friendly and welcoming. “Marta manages to be both lively and cozy simultaneously in a rowhouse that previously housed Salt (one of my all time favorite upscale restaurants) We went for a friend's birthday, and all 3 courses were delicious, beautifully presented, inventive, and not the same old menu that you find everywhere. Very sweet wait staff was super attentive, educated about the food and wine and made great suggestions. Our original wait staff had an emergency and had to leave in the middle of service, but seamlessly another wait person stepped in to covered us. Kudos to the front of house team for handling with such skill and ease. But the food was definitely the star of the show. For me, the standout was the tuna cannoli. I'm not even sure I can do justice to this deliciousness with a crunchy outer "cannoli" shell with a slight hint of sweet surrounding a creamy center of tuna crudi with little dots of avocado cream. And all was covered with a pistachio "dust." The spicy meatballs were delectable nestled in a cloud of creamy spicy ricotta. And the Duck and Foie Gras Panzotti (little triangle ravioli) was creamy, delicious and the perfect combination of delicate tastes. And the Tiramisu Affogato ended the dinner on a delicious note! At first it feels crowded because you're seated so close to other folks, but very quickly it feels like you're in your own cocoon. Highly recommend.“

“This is my favorite place to go in Baltimore. Aside from my house. I don't know what to point out as the deciding factor, but it just feels comfortable to me. The food is good, not great — I absolutely love the French Dip Cheesesteak. The wait staff and bartenders are always beyond friendly. We've done trivia nights and game days and quiet nights. My wife absolutely loves the dirty martini. Her favorite in the city. And it's a short walk from my home. I hope it's here for another 100 years.“

“I heard the stories about this place and it had been closed for a couple of years as the hotel it's in underwent renovation and ownership changes but it's back open and I couldn't be happier.

Steve the bartender is currently a one man show and we were there on the weekend it reopened and he was so happy to be back in his happy place. The man is a cocktail maven who loves his craft and what he does and his customers as well.

There is currently no menu here you ask for what you want or can tell Steve what you are in the mood for and he will make something amazing!

I got a smoked old fashioned that he smokes with his own blend of wood and spices and it was easily in the Top 5 of best old fashioneds I've ever had.

“We were a little surprised to start the evening by ringing a doorbell to get in, but the warm welcome that followed put us at ease right away. The atmosphere is fantastically unique, quirky, and full of character. The bartenders were genuinely friendly and the service was quick.

We ordered the Mac ’n’ Cheese with Jerk Chicken, Yuca Bites, Chorizo con Arroz y Gandules and the Cinnamon Mini Donuts. Everything was perfectly seasoned (especially great if you enjoy a bit of heat like we do). The only downside was that the portions felt a bit on the smaller side.

It also looks like they host a lot of interesting events like book readings, sip-and-paints, comedy shows and more. We didn’t get a chance to attend one this time, but it definitely added to the charm and made us want to come back.“

The burger was great with some really tasty onions on top and a nice balance of the teriyaki on the burger. The churro was also delicious with a nice soft bitter chocolate flavor to the dipping sauce that balanced well with the sweetness of the churro. I love the idea of being able to do arts and crafts while enjoying a drink and some food with friends after work. “We decided to check this out during the Olympics so that we could watch the events but also get some slightly fancy dining on a Saturday. The interior is cozy but well decorated and has plenty of seats for a smaller bar. We didn’t explore the upstairs but there is a staircase in the center. They also had plenty of outdoor seats. We decided to focus on the specials and tried the grilled octopus dish which was fantastic, it came with some nicely grilled veggies and a delicious spread of hummus which all came together for a very balanced and flavorful bite. As a side we opted for the couscous instead of fries or rice. The couscous was nicely seasoned and came with veggies as well. All in all it was a delicious, balanced and healthy meal that was excellently prepared!“
