The only dish that seems to miss the mark is the Bindi Masala - the okra is really fibrous,;ended up not finishing the dish because it was way too stringy to chew; we've ordered it twice now and are reluctant to try a third time. Hopefully it was just a bad batch of the veg?”

“Cakes Plus provided a wonderful cake for my son's wedding several years ago, so my son recommended the bakery when I wanted to purchase a cake for my grandson's 30th birthday. I knew the words I wanted written on the cake, but didn't have a design in mind. Many, many thanks to Hannah for her patience and for helping me nail the perfect design!! Everyone loved the vanilla sheet cake. (See picture.) It was beautiful and delicious. Then, when I went to pickup the vanilla sheet cake, on a whim, I decided to also purchase a smaller, off the shelf, lemon cake with a balloon design. People who tried both cakes at the birthday events said both were amazing, but they loved the taste of the lemon cake more than the vanilla. I wish we weren't limited to rating this bakery 5 stars! Lol!!”

“This is a little cozy spot. Seems like there are local regulars here and it's family run. So I knew the food wouldn't disappoint and it sure didn't. The food here tastes very homemade and clean without compromising on taste.

Soft Chicken Tacos (8/10) - From the very first bite I knew it was fresh and everything tasted spot on. The rice and beans were decent too.

Chimichanga (9.5/10) - This was probably the best thing I've had here. It's perfectly delicious, wasn't overly greasy and heavy. It was perfect. This one might be the go to for most people.

Patron Platter (9/10) - This dish was also spot on, but the pork tamale 🫔 was just what it needed to be a complete dish. A great option if you're feeling a variety of food.

Tres Leches (8/10) - While this wasn't the best I've had, it by no means disappointed. The cake was good but more importantly it was sweetened perfectly. I've been to too many spots that over do it, so it was nice to find a spot that gets it right for a change. I recommend this one for dessert.”

Along with the side salad [lemony and slightly spicy], these side dishes were competing for my attention for the above reasons and being less greasy than most places. I suggested to the owner that the side vegetables should be made into a combo dish, to which they accommodated my request. Smart decor and amiable service. Their house-made saffron ice-cream is on my next visit list.”

“I have been lucky to be a patron of Emmerts many, many times over many years following their crabs from their West Laurel neighborhood to Rt 1 and now out to Rt 32; however I haven’t had a chance to go there recently. However, today we had an opportunity to have their crabs and it was a great reminder of why they are one of the greatest spots in our region to grab some heavy, fresh, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked crabs. Sometimes the simplest things to get right are actually the hardest things, and this business gets it right every single time year in and year out. “We stopped by SHAHS HALAL in Laurel and everything was amazing! We had the fish gyro and the falafel gyro with fries — all of it was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The owner was so kind and even gave me a portion of lamb with tzatziki sauce and cilantro, which was absolutely delicious! You can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. “Had a good experience at Peri Peri. I got the Peri Chicken Wrap. It was tasty. Some of the chicken was a little chewy but all in all it had good flavor and for the most part the chicken was tender. I got the mango and lime with the hot sauce. It was really tasty. I also got the Peri fries. They were really good as well. The white sauce they gave is really good with the fries. I am not sure if that sauce was intended to eat with the wraps or not. The wraps were messy but that is when food tastes the best. I will definitely be returning to try other items.

The service was also really good. The cashier took her time with us and was very patient as my family decided what they wanted to order. They also got a delivery during our visit and the manager/owner (guessing) offered him a free water/drink. I thought that was really nice.”

“This has been my go-to Chick-fil-A ever since I moved to the area about five years ago. Not only is it the closest location, but in my long life (and my way too many Chick-fil-A visits 😅), this one is hands down the best.

The food quality and preparation are always top-tier, but it is really the staff that sets this place apart. They are always smiling. Always kind. And yes, I know that is typical for Chick-fil-A, but something about this location just feels different. It is better. It feels more intentional. They know and recognize the community here which is something you don’t typically get in franchise spaces. It’s just truly special.

1. Bring back the garlic powder, the garlic shakers were one of the big reasons I went to Blaze Pizza in the past. Just recently they quit putting out the garlic powder which was a big mistake.
2. Lots of the other shakers are either missing (oregano is frequently not out) or nearly empty”

We have always liked their food, and our pulled chicken was very good and a generous amount. My side of Cole slaw was bland with a faint vinegary taste, though the hush puppies were very good and not over battered. My wife liked her sides of green beans and sweet potatoes. The rest of the group was pretty satisfied with their pulled pork and chili. Our waitress Gabrielle was outstanding, efficient, and always a smile on her face somehow, considering she was handling the entire restaurant. “Honestly I’ve been looking for a new spot to go to for tacos in Laurel bc my usual spots have been constantly leaving me dissatisfied in the food . BUT this truck did not disappoint AT ALL 🤤 The sauce you can tell is homemade, and out of 4 steak tacos, NONE had fat pieces . The meat was seasoned well too . I also ordered a beef hot dog for my daughter and she was satisfied to say the least . We will be coming back soon!!! I wish I had photos but it’s gone now 😅😂”
