“This has been our go to spot for over 10 years now in Hamden! Great for comfort, food or brunch and always a fun atmosphere. The service has gotten so much better over the years and everyone there is incredibly sweet and friendly. I love that they keep good staples on the menu, but are always trying to reinvent New dishes to complement the old standbys. And even though prices have raised at most other places, this place still remains incredibly affordable.“

“Cute little spot (little being the key word). Drinks were great, I got a cocktail and my friend got the cappuccino. The coffee was one of the best she has had and my cocktail was nice. The food was delicious, they specialize in biscuits and you definitely have to try them. The table next to us got the monkey bread and it looked to die for, will definitely be ordering that next time. Service was a little slow but I think that had to do with the layout of the space and how new the place is. They are still trying to figure out their groove.
Parking: You need to be able to parallel park to drive here.“

“Usually have to get here early to get your hands on a pastry so was delighted to pull it off. Coffee is Ceremony, so that was yummy. The pastries are always interesting combinations of flavors I would never normally think of so their menu is always fun to look over.
Had a s’mores cookie on the spot and a crepe brûlée tart for later. Both were delicious! Tried The crab sando too; I wish had a little more of the sandwich filling to balance the bread but was still tasty.“

After being greeted by a friendly hostess at the door, we were seated immediately, walking into a cute rustic ambience surrounded by quirky art! We were served within 15mins of ordering with our dishes served with beautiful plating and even more delicious food. Highly recommend the breakfast potatoes and the pancakes! “Everything is fantastic! From breakfast sandwiches (and plates) to lunch specials. The food tastes great, you are usually in and out very quickly, and they have fantastic memories and will greet you by name. I ended up with Covid, my last day of work was Nov 17th, and I did not come back until Jan 4th. They still remembered my order! "I" didn't even remember it!!! Always excellent. Highly recommend.“

“The food was great! The owner explained how he brought food recipes from Afghanistan. Two of us shared the Kabuli Gosht Palau with Kabul eggplant. We also had the pumpkin called Kabul Kaddo that comes with bread. The flavors and freshness of the food are what stand out to me. We also enjoyed the Shugufa (means flower bud in Arabic) tea. It’s a whole pot of tea with a flower in it. It had a subtle flavor and aromatic smell. We ended with an order of Baklava. Everything tastes like it’s from someone’s home and unlike anything I’ve had in a restaurant. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The restaurant, though, is small. Make a reservation so you are sure to be seated. The restaurant seems to do a lot of takeout. The business also displays beautiful rugs for sale that adds to the feel of Afghanistan. For me, the experience of eating the food and drinking the tea in this sweet place was calm and comforting.“

“This place is amazing. Their empanadas are absolutely the best in Maryland. Their Dominican steak bowl is AMAZING. The Korean bbq steak bowl… AMAZING!! My only complaint is their steak sub. While it was TOTALLY delicious, it was very small for $12. It was sooo good I wanted more.“

“Our Story
We are two young married entrepreneurs (Charles & Kristian Miller) striving to make ourselves unique by perfecting our craft and honing our talent while still willing to be taught. Myself having 7 years in of executive chef experience and running and operation of brick and motor with my spouse. I believe that we can benefit each other greatly when it comes to this due to the different intangibles that we both bring to the table in creating this partnership. We have what it takes, we are young , fresh, hot, and our brand speaks volumes. In addition to this our menu is unique, fun , and tasteful.
We have survived many tragedies in these past 9 years. Mentally, physically and emotionally. Together, we've experienced riots, snowmageddon, heatwaves, Covid-19’s health pandemic. On top of experiencing a devastating electrical fire that wiped out our entire business on 13,September 2021. We remain resistant. We remain a part of our community as one. we are part of what makes… Baltimore STRONG.

“A huge thank you to the folks at One World Cafe for coming to the Hopkins football tailgate crepe tent rescue. We discovered post game when it was time to start cooking for the team that we left our cooler of eggs and milk on the 7th floor of the Marriott parking garage. We had all the toppings but no crepe ingredients! Remembering all the great breakfasts I have had at One World (as a regular customer we have always received stellar service and food) I dashed across the street to see if they could spare some eggs and milk. Everyone was so friendly and kind and happy to help and saved the day with 8 eggs and a gallon of milk! Thank you so very much. Your kindness was much appreciated and helped our team celebrate our win! 5 stars for quality service and kindness and generosity as a bonus!“

“Amazing bagel sandwich with crisp bacon and a perfectly cooked egg with a jammy yolk. Iced coffee was fine but unmemorable. S’mores cookie is a 10/10. One star knocked off because it’s very a cramped space and layout, but understood given the building.“

“When we lived in Maryland I bought all of our coffee from High Grounds. I have now moved to Georgia and wouldn't consider changing my coffee source. The main reason that one would go to a coffee roaster for the 2nd, 3rd or 99th time would be for the quality of the coffee, and any one who would rate High Grounds less than 5 star“

“The brunch menu prepared by Chef Mario was unique and adventurous, but not out of touch for casual diners. The pastries were phenomenal we chose the Kouign-Amann which were flawless and so delicious as well as the Cheddar, Jalapeño and chive scones. Both were served with butter and jam. She had the Chicken and waffles that came with a harissa-kohlrabi slaw and ginger-lime maple syrup. Spicy, sweet and complex on the palate. I had the Chesapeake Benny, poached eggs, maryland crab on top of a breaded fried green tomato with tarragon hollandaise, grilled asparagus and home fries! Every bite was intensely pleasing. Each dish was plated beautifully and each component worked so well together. We got more pastries to go home with. Our server, Andrea was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food she was serving and its presentation. She was kind enough to gift us her favorite scone flavor on the house! I can honestly say it was the best meal (not just brunch) I've had all year. Thanks! Matt and Jodi“

“5/5 food,
4/5 for service and ambiance/atmosphere
Price: $$
Food: I ordered the fried chicken, biscuit & gravy omelet, and thought it tasted amazing. The gravy added a rich, savory taste to the omelet. Very delicious meal and I recommend.
Service: The service was very slow this day, which is why I’m giving it 4/5. We were told a 10 minute wait but instead got seated 20 minutes later. Even ordering food and waiting for our food took awhile. We hoped for better and quicker service overall.
Atmosphere: The ambiance/atmosphere was pleasant, but very packed. The tables were so close to each other, it’s impossible to not bump into other people and tables when getting out.
Overall, based on the food I recommend.“

“1:39 4 ..ll 5G§ 83 < Reviews Koba Café First coffee shop of 2023! Koba is a cozy shop on the corner. The young lady at the counter was friendly. She was familiar with the two customers in front of me. It definitely had a neighborhood friendly vibe. The shop was busy. Most of the tables on the first floor were taken up when I was there. Be sure to take a stroll up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was an adorable little spot for two people to sit and chat. The second floor has a great little area to sit and ready or study. The top floor was full of light. I ordered my usual cortado. It was a solid drink. The cortado wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything spectacular to write home about.“
“This made our Baltimore trip! We would come back just to go to this restaurant! We ended up sitting at the bar,(something I normally don’t like to do) and it was a fortunate happenstance. We ended up sitting with some regular customers and had a blast, everyone was so friendly and it was like being among family. Nino the owner brought our meals out and they were superb! From the appetizers to desert everything was impeccable! The bartender Boulot was SO fun and attentive (we never had an empty glass). The cannoli (hand made by Nino’s mom) was Terrific. When we get back to Baltimore this will be one of the first places we stop.“

“I happened upon Kora Lee’s tent at the flower festival in Baltimore today…what a lucky find! I had a shrimp salad wrap that was delicious and chock full of lovely, nice sized, shrimp! So often baby shrimp are used and used sparingly… This wrap was a real treat for the taste buds! The dessert outdid the shrimp wrap! I feel like real love must go into everything made here… that’s the only way to coax the flavors to meld so beautifully! I will definitely be trying the restaurant!Amy“

“Oh my, oh my! This right here is like heaven in your mouth. “The name is very literal, it is a cafeteria inside a big business / corporate building. However, it is very tidy and clean, friendly and accommodating. We came here after looking up breakfast places on Google Maps, and it was extremely affordable and delicious. A little limited on the menu, but I think that is to be expected from a cafeteria restaurant.Come with cash, otherwise expect surcharges and minimum purchases.
Parking: The parking lot is outside a corporate building without any signs saying the cafe exists inside the big building“

“What a fantastic little place, and I’d never have found it if local family hadn’t suggested having lunch here. The pit turkey sandwich was so delicious, you’ll be hard put to find better than this.
