“August 27, 2024 - We rarely “do country clubs”, but we enjoyed our time . . . when friends invited us for a good lunch !

Maryland National Golf Club is a public course , with a very nice tavern overlooking the 18 th hole . . . Can’t beat the Middletown valley scenery! ??????

Katlynn , our server, handed out lunch menus and shared the daily specials! No beer list, but she quickly rattled off beer choices . . . I tried the pineapple Hazy IPA ?! Wonderful summer ale!

My wife ordered Crab Imperial w/melted cheese over an English muffin. Our friends also ordered a Crab Imperial, plus fish & chips with homemade potato chips ! I tried Maryland Crab Soup, with Old Bay Spices a common spice in Maryland on all item’s featuring CRAB ?! Excellent soup, with a tomato based broth , and perfectly cooked crunchy vegetables! ( not cooked to mush) Then enjoyed a Chef Salad.

A nice lunch in a cool AC dining room with lots of windows overlooking the golf course on a sunny day ! ????????? A great lunch spot, to “ catch up” with our Maryland friends !

“Found this hidden gem while in the area for an autumn hike. I love checking out local businesses so I thought I'd give it a try. The ciders and libations here are for the adventurous tastebuds. From the agricultural lesson in describing their product to the scents and tastes of the ciders, it is a full sensory experience. Even one of the ciders I didn't care for evoked memories. My favorite was the Pairing. One sip and I melted into my chair in full relaxation. It was the kind of taste where I could curl up in a blanket in a dusty old library with a book and just sip for hours. As I said - full sensory experience. “We did the calf feeding this past Wednesday, and our host, Derek, made it a really memorable experience. And it wasn't just the cow onesie he happened to be wearing that day :) My husband was petting one calf, and it was falling asleep in his hand! Highly recommend this experience.“

“Kpot is a great place to visit! The food is delicious, especially the seafood menu. Cece was our waitress and was super kind and friendly, as well as the other staff. My daughter was ecstatic about coming here twice, since the first time she was confused about the differences between Thai hot pot and Korean American hot pot, but now she’s used to it and we know too! My family loves it here. There are also affordable prices. There’s many things was could say that’s great about here, so thank you KPOT!! We hope to come here even more!!“

“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

I’m a wine lover and grew up in a small city in South America where we learned the art of high altitude viniculture. Ed has wonderful products and I can say with confidence that Six Wicket Vineyards won’t disappoint you. I promise Ed I’ll visit his Vineyard very soon. 100% recommend it.“

The only thing I was a little confused is I left gratuity online, but I didn’t show on the bill so when I went there, I had to be sure that the gratuity was included. “Great first visit disappointing second visit.

I’ve attached photos of both the visit.

I came here and had lavender honey flavour. What a brilliant flavour! The server was a woman who was so patient and so sweet.

The second time was today and there was a young guy serving us. We got the same size, yet he put a significantly less serving for us (you can compare in the photos). He also looked in a hurry to finish our order.

The cone during the second time was also so so soft instead of crunchy.

My mum asked me to tell them and show the photo but with the server’s attitude I was honestly in no mood.

The server changed when we left. My cousin went here after 2 hours and they got the same quantity as we initially did. Hence proven that our server today messed up (overheard him telling a customer next to us that he’s super tired so maybe that’s why).

I highly recommend the lavender honey ice cream but I hope this review shows you what to expect.“

“This is a cozy, funky cafe with delicious food options for vegans and omnivores (perfect for my family, since I am a vegan and some of my family members prefer to eat at restaurants with meat options). I ordered the black bean wrap with a side salad (which was vegan without modifications). It was a colorful and creative combination of flavors and textures! It's refreshing to have a bean-based vegan option as opposed to tofu or meat alternatives. The waiter was also friendly and accommodating. After I complimented the artwork, he wrote down the names of the artists so I could check them out.
