Flying Ace Farm Brewery •
40950 Flying Ace Ln, Lovettsville

“My wife and I visited Flying Ace Farm during a day trip to western Virginia. We both love a good bbq and were excited to check this place out after seeing all the positive reviews. The hype is warranted. We picked the brisket and ribs as our entrees, and mac & cheese and mushrooms for our sides. The brisket and ribs were incredibly tender and juicy. The bbq sauce on the ribs was delicious and the perfect amount to properly compliment the meat. Mac and cheese was solid and so were the mushrooms. Since they make their own bourbon and rum, I got an old fashioned which was a bit on the strong side but very tasty, and my wife got a pineapple mojito that was excellent. We didn't have enough time to do their tastings. But having tried their old fashioned, we decided to snatch up a bottle of their blended bourbon. The premises are your typical, beautiful Virginia farmland. The folks servicing the place were very kind and knowledgeable about their products. Great experience all around!“

Creek's Edge Winery Wineries • $$
41255 Annas Ln, Lovettsville

“Such a beautiful winery. Came here with two friends, we got the brunch board - a bountiful medley of meats, cheeses, speards and breakfast items, like mini pancakes waffles, sausage egg and cheese bagel and blueberry scones. Well worth it for the price. We all got a tasting fight and shared a bottle and spent about $55 each. Lovely Sunday afternoon ☺️“

8 Chains North Winery Wineries •
38593 Daymont Ln, Waterford - 6.63 miles

“Went in during the week and had a wonderful experience. We did a tasting and enjoyed all 4 wines very much. Each was unique and described perfectly. Since it was a week day we were allowed to bring in food, although the food they have to offer on the weekends looks great! They have a nice display of chocolates from Conche in Leesburg. There is plenty of space inside and out but we chose the seats by the indoor fireplace and it was perfect!“

Harvest Gap Brewery Brewery • $$
15485 Purcellville Rd, Hillsboro - 6.64 miles

“I don’t make a habit of reviewing breweries because people experience them differently, but felt compelled with this one. Harvest Gap Brewery has consistently good beer on tap - recommend Heavy D for the sour lovers and the toasted lager for the stout lovers (not an IPA drinker, so can’t provide a recommendation there). Also, don’t be fooled by the seemingly small gathering space when you first walk through the front door - there is a large beer hall just past the bar & bathrooms, with an additional overflow gathering space just past that. The outdoor space is expansive, offering fire pits, picnic tables, and plenty of running around space for kids. Lastly, the mountain views, especially in the early evening, are gorgeous! Highly recommend this great LC brewery!“

868 Estate Vineyards Wineries •
14001 Harpers Ferry Rd, Purcellville - 6.2 miles

“I loved this vineyard. The service was amazing. The manager was so sweet. The ambiance is cute. I also actually really enjoyed the wine flights. At first glance I thought the truffle flight was expensive for a small box of chocolate BUT I really enjoyed the chocolate and the wine so I would recommend. I also tried the sweet flight which was equally as good for a great price.“

Williams Gap Vineyard Wineries • $$

“Perfect Gem in Round Hill. A great addition to our Wine Cluster here and the wine is very good. The owners are building tasting rooms and the building where they are hosting the opening of this vineyard/winery will become the event venue building. Done with style and charm. Update10/2023 … decks were added, so no new tasting room. Perfect local spot in Western Loudoun County“

Sunset Hills Vineyard Wineries • $$
38295 Fremont Overlook Ln, Purcellville - 6.82 miles

“We visited Sunset Hills somewhat by accident on Thursday 4 April. We were finishng up at a nearby vineyard and checked the Plugshare app to see if any nearby vieyards had EV charging stations. Up pops Sunset Hills eight miles away. We didn't realize until arriving that this vineyard had won a number of gold medals in the 2024 VA Governor's cup.We started off with a taste of the award winning 2020 Reserve Cabernet Franc which could only be described as hard nosed like a young Saint-Estèphe Bordeaux. Our server looked a little panicked and said "you obviously know more about this that I do, let me get my colleague." For the initial round I opted for the Meritage which was considerable softer than the Aabernet Franc. It too was a little young, but opened up nicely after a few minutes.By the time the first round was finished the weather had turned particularly bad. The car was charging and we had nowhere to be for several hours, so why not revist that gold cup winning Cabernet Franc? It turns out that the wine was highly approachable after breathing for a few minutes. In retrospect I wish I had purchased some to take home.“
