“This was my second trip with Konoko, which was even better than my first! The food was delish, hope they have this in Heaven! The rum cheesecake was wonderful! The atmosphere was fantastic! My server, CRYSTAL, was truly phenomenal....ten star service!!!“
“Today was my 2nd time eating at this restaurant and they almost taste like how my grandma from Trinidad use to make it, definitely very close. The food is nice and hot!!! Chicken is tender and Roti is made just right. My favorite meal is the curry chicken bowl with rice, peas, and cabbage. This place is very underrated it needs to be just as popular as chipotle if you asked me. ❤️“
“Geneva and dee were PHENOMINAL very quick to assist and an awesome friendly atmosphere, ive known about judys for quite some time but never have been to ear, i was craving some good jerk chicken and they did not dissapoint! I will be back for “
“First timer! Easy reservation process. Wasn't crowded at all. The crab egg rolls were very good. As well as the wings. I didn't order any drinks. I did, however, order the gumbo. To me, it was too salty and not enough rice. The entrée was plentiful. I had enough to take home. Super friendly staff that served my table. Food came out extremely fast. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Parking can be sketchy but the restaurant was worth it. I'd go back to try another entrée and get some drinks.“
“First time & I’m hooked! The Jerk chicken & rice lunch special was amazing, great smoky flavor and plenty of zip - but not too spicy. And at a reasonable price. No offense to the green & yellow sub franchise, but I’m walking next door from now on!“
“It was my first time having Haitian food, came in early Saturday, was instantly greeted by staff, we had some questions about the different options on the menu and was provided great recommendations. During the wait time staff got a little busy. However staff still remained to acknowledge us and still provided great customer service. Now the food is absolutely amazing! Flavor, presentation, portion sizes huge! Definitely will be going back. Thank you!“
“Sensational. Idk bout the reviews but it's a mom pop and son biz, if you were running a restaurant and everyone's multitasking you'd want grace, so give them grace, bc if it was you you'd understand. The mom is the cook, cleaner and all Around great person, she don't say much, but I feel the love, and why yall need to talk to her anyway she working. Bc I saw a few reviews talking about her cut it out. The food is authentic, energy authentic, everything authentic. The portions are crazy for carry out and even larger for dine in. I LOVE IT. Welcome to the area. . My 3rd time and I haven't been disappointed. If you got an issue they are quick to remedy it. It's all made with love. So be gentle“
“This review is super late. I patronized on Saturday, 10-1-22. Hadn't been on this block in many years. Assuming that either the food was very good or I got there too late as a lot of menu items I inquired about weren't available. I was there a few mins before 4 pm.I ended up ordering sides of macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes. Made a stop before I got in, but my food was still hot from the good wrapping. Would definitely return to try other things. The food I ordered was filling and good.“
“Baby; I'll start off with the negative comment first, I waited maybe 5 mins too long but I understood why it took longer than expected once I received my food. I ordered the salmon which was cooked in a sauce. My sides were mash potatoes and vegetables. When I say delicious is an understatement, it is! The fish was cooked to perfection. The sauce was so good I nearly started to use my fingers to sop it up! The mash tasted as if it was prepared the same day. The vegetables on my dish were cooked perfectly. The food was not salty, it was just cooked with love and detail! I'll be back!Parking: Regular“
“I stopped in today after getting my haircut next door. I ordered the jerk chicken tacos and macaroni and cheese. The food was out of this world. The chicken had the perfect blend of spice with sweet sauce on the taco.I took my wife there after her hair appointment and she loved the food too, and she's not to big on spicy foods. I will absolutely go back.“
“My friends and I came in after the club let out, which was a plus because every other seafood spot was already closed. The atmosphere was great and the service was even better. The food tasted good but it wasn’t as hot as desired. All in all, the experience was nice. I’d go again.“
“Excellent food! I’m real picky when it comes to Jamaican food so it means a lot when I say the food is delicious—well seasoned, good portion. In this picture, this is 1/2 my take out plate. I got the oxtail with rice n peas and ordered a side of plantain. Hubby got brown stew chicken and we ordered the ginger pineapple drink and sorrel. I was pleasantly surprised that the ginger pineapple drink is fresh. You can taste the real ginger and pineapple and you can taste the ginger and sorrel in the sorrel as well. Whenever we’re in the area, this is our spot.Vegetarian options: If you’re a vegetarian then the escovitch dish is a good option for you“
“First time ordering from here JIST 4-5 hours ago. I saw sooo many good reviews I had to try it. I ordered (delivery) their jerk chicken panini, and jerk chicken Rasta pasta. MAN… the pasta is sooo good!! The panini was also delicious, even though the panini pressed grilled bread had steamed inside its wrapper and lost its crispiness.. it was great. Wasn’t soggy just had lost its crunchiness where the grill marks are. I can’t wait to try their chicken pot pie and jerk chicken platter! I would’ve ordered those too.. but I don’t want to reheat anything and want to try it fresh. Will order those items next time! Thank you ❤️“
“"Food Sleeve in Essex delivers an authentic taste of Africa! With a wide variety of choices, their dishes truly capture the essence of African cuisine. Eating their food is like taking a culinary journey to Africa, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving the real deal."“
“I drove past this spot for over a year and kept telling myself to stop there. I’m glad I finally did!!! I want it every day now! I got the brown stew chicken with rice and peas. Couldn’t even take a picture to post it on here, I ate it so fast! Very good!!“
“This is one of my favorite places. I love everything about it: the location, the delicious food, the friendly service, and the atmosphere. I've had the roti, the jerk chicken, the curry chicken....delicious. Their juices are great - the lemonade, sorrel, and pineapple/ginger punch. Yes. I've also had the chocolate cake- so delicious and moist.Parking: There are a variety of options. There is a free parking lot, plus free and meter parking on the street.“
“My cousin was adamant about getting here because they operate on a 2 day schedule. She ordered us a few biscuit sandwiches. We ate in the car because we were on the move that day. It's a small setting, was clean inside, service was decent. The biscuits were delightful. Soft, buttery, crumbly, moist. Fresh to order. We had some steak, some bbq lamb and a sweet chicken type. I tried every single one and could not stop the expressive ooooohhhss and yummies from coming out my mouth between bites. The steak was savory and slightly overdone for me but very good with the egg and biscuit. Bbq Lamb was the most interesting pairing well in a breakfast sandwich. I would have never thought to put lamb in breakfast. The chicken was good with some type of sweet sauce on it that was good on the biscuit alone.“
“This has to be the best jerk I have had outside of Jamaica. I'm serious. It's that good. It's sweet, smokey, and spicy. Everything that jerk should be. Brother William didn't just put his foot in it, he put his whole leg in.“
“I dont know whats going on lately but their food use to be on point. I usually get the white meat jerk chicken but the last time I went the chicken was old and dry and hard and drowned in sauce to cover it up. I was so disappointed. I think the time of day you go matters.“
“So me and my friend wanted to try some Caribbean food and he told me about this place. The rice was really good, and the browns to chicken was really good. I didn't like the Jamaican version of collard greens. And if you grew up eating Stouffer's Mac and cheese then you know that that mac and cheese is Stouffer's. But I love Stouffer's ?. But also if I'm ordering from a Jamaican restaurant I don't want freezer macaroni and cheese. Other than that the food was great. Amazing Coco bread ?“
“I've been in Maryland for five years and I have to say that I was in love with Judy's Island Grill. Right there off of Crain highway in Glen Burnie. When I moved to Baltimore I started experiencing things more. Going to the market trying new things. Lexington Market has a variety of different kinds of food from different cultures. I always try different foods and it's a hit or miss with them, but they mainly have good food. Pam's Caribbean Kitchen just opened up this March and let me tell you, they are the best Caribbean food I have tasted! I mean they knocked Judy's off the board. The only thing that they're missing is macaroni and cheese. If she gets that she will be rolling.“
“The food I had was great. I've only tasted the curry chicken three times. You have to pay extra for plantains, which are okay as far a plantains go (I only had them one time). And their food is so affordable that the $1 extra isn't a big deal. I spent 10 and some change on a large curry. I don't care for the people who just hang out there and invade my personal space.Parking: I've gone there twice, and didn't have any issues with street parking.“
“Service was so fast and food was great! I had the curry chicken with Mac and cheese instead of the cabbage first, then went back to try the jerk chicken. Liked the curry chicken more, the jerk chicken I had was a little bit dry but the flavor was good! Would absolutely come here again.“
“First time eating there and I was greatly impressed and will be returning. I usually go to St Marys for my Jamaican fill but Hummingbird has taken their place for 2 reasons: Taste and Price. I had Currried Goat with Rice and Cabbage/Veggies. The only thing I hate is the location because its alot going on as far as car and people traffic which is the only reason for the 4 stars otherwise it'd be 5. The rent gotta be cheap and with the economy I understand the need to make it work where your at until better comes along or whatever the case may be with the locale situation. Many blessings to all and again the food was truly delicious, thank you for the service and I will be returning regularly. Oh forgot to mention the portions were also satisfying so that would be a 3rd reason. ?Update years later: I still go here and it's still is the best most flavorful jaimaican food to me. I have gone to other places and they are bad but they just aren't the same as at Hummingbird. I really do enjoy their flavorful and well-seasoned food.“
“I love me some good food!!! This is by far the best jerk chicken I had in the US. Omg the jerk chicken is really GOOD. And the rice and peas is delicious too 10/10. I’ve had only the jerk chicken so far and I’m really impressed. This is my second time ordering and even though it’s a 35 mins drive from Towson, I’ll definitely go back on a regular. The price and serving is right too.“
“Went there twice. Both times it was nice and clean. The lady who served me was polite and responsive to my request. I particularly didn't like the type of rice used to cook the rice and peas. It was cooked and Shelly. Just Not sure if was paraboil or what. Just would have preferred another rice (jasmine/basmati/ or a short grain rice) that would have provide more flavor. ?“
“I went there and ordered the jerk pork with rice and peas with steam cabbage on the side, food was one of the best I have since I've been in the states ain't gonna lie❤️❤️❤️ not to mention the interaction with the cashier I didn't get her name but she gave the best service I had “
“I had the Jerk Pork lunch special. Lunch special was 8.48 with tax. The lunch special came with rice and steamed vegetables mostly cabbage and a can soda. Came in a round container packed tight with an ample amount of pork. The pork was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. This is now my go to for Jamaican period!!“
“Original trini food . Bought roti and doubles, flavors of home. This is going to be my favorite restaurant.Vegetarian options: You can create your own vegan meal from a dish by adding or subtract what you like or don't. They are flexible.Parking: Parking next to side door or front door.Kid-friendliness: Very family oriented atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Park on side of building. To gain access to side door. Best option.“
“Cousinnnn! Auntie has made dinner, come join! I mean wow. This brings back the nostalgia of eating my favorite meal- fufu and light soup with goat with family at the table. I have been looking for an authentic Ghanaian restaurant in Baltimore for years and have finally found it. The service is amazing, the owners son is always accommodating and friendly when he answers the phone and always pleasantly greets me when I walk in. Although I'd love to be able to eat here, I'd probably need a wheel barrow to leave so account for this being a to go experience with you favorite pillow and blanket nearby for the nap you'll need. I've been here several times before writing this review because it really felt like I was going to pick up food from aunties house and forgot, WHOOPS. I always get the same thing but my husband has ventured to the Caribbean menu and has gotten oxtails the size of his palm, twice- going above and beyond is clearly they're M O. The goat is always so perfectly cooked, flavorful and more than enough to last the whole meal. They really add a new meaning to Baltimore eating for me and I'm so grateful! I always recommend calling to place your order to ensure it's available because stuff sells out due to its amazingness!“
