“Was pleasantly surprised with our meal here. Carne asada had good flavor, and service was good even on a busy night. Some negatives were that the taquitos sinaloa were plain tasting, and the table salsa was watery/lacking flavor. Having lived in Montgomery County for 10 years, Uncle Julio's in Rio Gaithersburg has been my family's go-to for Tex Mex over the years. We've not liked the direction they've gone recently with their menu or pricing practices, so hopefully Villa Maya can remain a great alternative for the foreseeable future.“
“I ordered the 3 beef tacos (tacos de Birria) that came with a consommé. Amazing. Service was fast and friendly. They are doing some facade changes out front, landlord? “Great food! A little pricy... But there's a reason why it gets so busy. Not only do they have tamale de elote, but you can get it fried and it tastes amazing! Love the plantains. The grilled meats are flavorful. And the taco salad comes in a really yummy edible bowl ?“

“We love Guapo’s and come here often. Wait times are long but sometimes you get lucky. The drinks and food are delicious. However I had my first bad experience with a waiter this weekend. I paid the bill with my card and was going to leave a cash tip, the lady saw me select “no tip” and told me “tip is not included” …. I know how tipping works and it should never be excepted but appreciated. It left a sour taste. Especially given we always TIP well. Made me not want to leave anything at all. Very unprofessional!“
“This location has been here forever and is a neighborhood favorite! Very cozy place with inside and outside and a mix covered seating area outside. They have more seating at the lower level, but the ambiance isn't as nice. Paid parking at the public garage at the end of the street. My friends like to meet up here to celebrate birthdays especially and they'll bring out their big sombrero and sing to you. Service is excellent! Tex-mex food with large portions, I usually get fajitas and they come sizzling on a hot plate. The food is good, nothing special, but we usually come for the free chips and salsa! The tortilla chips are very thinly made and come out warm. Their tortillas are freshly warmed up on the machine upfront, not sure if they actually made them. Food is probably a 3.5, ambiance a 3, but service a 5!“
“I've been coming here for what 3? 5? 6 years now? I always get the same thing and it's always perfect. There's one thing can be said for amazing food, it's a completely different thing when talking about amazing consistency. I've never, ever had a steak quesadilla or sangria as amazing as they make them here. It's simple, steak, cheese, and tortilla. It's so simple, but the flavors and taste are simply unmatched. Perfection. Service is just AMAZING. I think the phrase comfort food gets thrown around quite a bit, but I make a point to come 2-4 times a month because as I described to my partner, the food just evokes emotion. Reassurance, acceptance, warmth, winning, and just contentment, when I get a steak quesadilla from Guapos on Wisconsin Ave, I just know whatever is going on in my life, it's going to be okay.The sangria is unmatched. I tried various sangrias around D.C. and this is definitely my number 1. Their Tres Leches cake is also a treat when I'm in the mood for dessert.“

“The first time I came here was to celebrate my birthday with a few co-worker girlfriends. The girls told them it was my birthday and they came out sang to me ,(I can't recall if this is where I got to wear a sombrero while they sang). We had a good time.... Since then I have visited a few more times as it is in walking distance for me. It's a great place if you want to sip on a margarita on the patio which has a sort of tiki bar vibe at night with the lights...or come watch a match while eating the tasty Mexican & El Salvadoran cuisines. I've tired and enjoyed the ceviche, fajitas, pupusas and margaritas several times. I did not care for the nachos but it was a to-go order and sometimes that can really make a difference when you get nachos. The staff has always been welcoming and friendly. I recommend stopping by!“

Still, no mistakes on what we ordered and everything came out quickly, hot, or cold as appropriate, and looked nice too.I haven't had enchiladas in years, and gave theirs a shot. Ordered the Cozumel Enchiladas and they were very good. Nicely caramelized cheese on the plate and the beans and rice were also very good. Excellent Mai Tai and a full pour on my beer.This place is large and has a sports bar vibe but the food a drinks are above average so don't worry about getting your money's worth here.10/10 would enchilada again“
“A nice surprise really. My appetizers were the civiche with fried calamari and a cheese pupusa. Both were delicious. The calamari dish had tilapia in it which was also great. For my drinks (which were the real stars) I had a blackberry vodka mule and a Cranberry orange margarita. Both were well made.“

“Place has a very chill environment. The cook is very sweet and polite. She made the food in prompt timing. She also served our food. My son and I went on a Thursday noon, it wasn't busy at all. Very quiet if you'd like to sit and eat in peace. Food was good, menu layout could improve perhaps add pictures to it to make it easier for people who aren't familiar with Latin food. A little more lighting and a little background music could be convenient too:)“
