“First time here. I had the Birria Dilla (pictures) which was excellent. It's large, very cheesy, generous meat portions and excellent flavour profile. Not for someone trying to avoid oily food 😆. My husband had the steak and shrimp burrito and enjoyed it and our toddler really enjoyed the crispy chicken quesadilla (without sauce). Fair prices. Made fresh. There was no line when we went. We look forward to coming again!“

I’ve had great service thus far. People really like the yams, Mac and cheese, pork chop, collard greens, cabbage, watermelon, potato salad, and wings.“

“Ordered here for the first time a few days ago and this is one of the very very few places around here that doesn't use the same cheap tasting sickly sweet sauce without paying a fortune for pizza. If you prefer your pizza with a tangy sauce, this is the place!
Personally I think the pizza could have used a little bit more sauce, but I'll just ask for extra next time I order. Crust is pretty good, chewy how I like it. Cheese is decent too. Yeah there's better stuff out there, but I'm balling on a budget.

“We are a local business and we ordered 25 pizzas for a holiday party. Best prices around and the pizza was delicious. Called the day of to confirm 6 pm delivery. 6pm the driver walked in the door. He was incredible nice and helped set up the pizzas. We are a few miles away and it was rush hour. The pizzas were so hot that we had to wait a few for them to cook down. One of the best pizza places that I have purchased from and will definitely order from them again.“

“Like most "hole-in-the-wall" places, the food here is awesome. They serve breakfast and lunch only, which means they open and close early. If you order your food correctly. You won't be disappointed at all!

They have a small parking lot (maybe 10-12 cars could fit), but people can drive, let alone park. The great thing is there's no dining in, so you're usually in and out. I would recommend calling ahead of time so you don't have to wait too long.

If you're looking for vegan/ vegetarian options, this is probably not it. I believe everything is cooked on the same grill. The only possible vegan item are the grits, which are amazing, but that's only if they don't use butter during the cooking process. You can get egg and chèese, veggie omelet, fries, and possibly another item or two, but understand the incredible possibility of cross-contamination for your vegan/vegetarian desires.

Otherwise, for those who enjoy good food, this is definitely a spot to visit if you're in the area and looking for great breakfast/lunch on the go!

“Bertha's Soul Food Bar & Grill hit my aunts South Carolina Soul and my South Bronx Soul at the same time as we traveled through Baltimore for a business meeting. Auntie saw the collard greens and they was cut wide and her Bronx side eye made her look suspicious. Her taste test brought out her smile. And the bust down went down. Her side of crispy fried chicken complemented her plate of Turkey Wings, collard greens, sweet potatoes and yellow rice. As I am doing this review 2 weeks later I am feeling like jumping on the 95 South on the 3.5 hour drive to get our same dishes. I had 2 pieces of Fried Catfish, mac & cheese, broccoli.
I didn't leave anything on my plates and it was the perfect meal that filled me for the drive back to NYC. Our entire meal was seasoned just right we requested to speak to the chef and seasoner to give our praise.
Bertha's Soul Food restaurant accommodated us and so we certainly did.

Within 6 minutes of receiving my order I notice the fries were not crispy to me but limp, (Not the fries with the crab dip on them) I'm talking about the fries that didn't have dip on them were limp. I asked for crispy fries. I asked for them to be made over and serve the dip separately in a box possibly. I was told by Corey Hawkins that he could not make them over or offer a refund unless the store personnel made a mistake, also no refund is not stated on the receipt nor is it posted in the store. He stated he is not allowed to do anything basically to satisfy the customer, no other manager was there for me to speak to. This to me is not fair to the customer because I was totally unsatisfied and wanted a remake (separately) or a refund. This is very upsetting that the customers are treated this way, his hands was tied and im left unhappy with $20 fries. This was like a 10 minute ordeal because I was trying to get my money back and had i known that you dont give refunds I would have never placed an order there at all, this needs to be made known to the consumer. This situation puts the manager and the customer in a very awkward position and something needs to be done for customers that are unhappy with their orders, or you will loose alot of customers once they go through something like this and especially because its not posted that you don't give refunds.
