“We went for the summer restaurant week. You get a cold and a hot appetizer, assortment of sushi and a dessert. We opted for the soft shell crab and shabu shabu ramen, both were delicious and served hot out of the kitchen. Sushi is top quality and decadent of course. Hojicha pudding is uniquely toasty and silky.

Not all RW deals are worth going, but I’d recommend the selection at sushi taro for the quality and the value of the food.”

“Wow! Probably one of my new favorite spots in DC! Literally everything we tried was phenomenal - and I think these are the best fries I've had in DC! I got Madam VP Heritage, and my husband got the Mumbai Mariachi. Our kids got the Classique Grilled Cheese, which was delicious (I want to know what bread they used) and perfectly balanced with the ham and Swiss. We finished our meal with the alfajores, which I didn't get a photo of because we gobbled them up. But I was incredibly impressed with the food and service. Reasonably priced (especially for where it's located), bright and airy. It is a bit small, so it would be difficult to accommodate a large group, but there's plenty of seating, and there were several folks here reading and just hanging out on a Friday mid day. I can't recommend this spot enough - as a gastroadvocacy spot, it was already intriguing enough, and the diverse (and changing) menu is exceptionally executed! Excited to come back and try more things on the menu - with a side of fries!

Vegetarian options: There are very clearly labeled vegetarian and vegan options. It's not an extensive selection, but they are delicious!

Parking: It's definitely in a difficult area to find parking since it's in the heart of the city and close to many tourist attractions.

Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu, but it's reasonably kid friendly otherwise. Our kids really enjoyed the grilled cheese and fries and cookies. May not be suitable for children who are very picky.”

They surprised us with a beautifully handwritten anniversary card—a thoughtful and personal touch that set the tone for the evening. The food was an exquisite journey through modern Korean flavors. We started with the Half Chikin, perfectly crispy and tender, followed by Sogogi Mandu, which was bursting with flavor. The Seoul Fashioned cocktails were expertly crafted, providing the ideal balance of flavors to complement each dish. The Set of Three offered a delightful variety, while the Dolsot Bibim Bap was comforting and satisfying, bringing all the traditional flavors of Korea with a refined twist. The Ssam Board was a highlight, allowing us to create our own bites, each one as flavorful as the last. The Ori Jjajangmyeon and Jujube Sticky Toffee Pudding were both standouts, adding a unique and delicious twist to familiar Korean flavors.

Anju’s ambiance, attentive service, and culinary creativity made for a perfect evening. We can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience, especially for special occasions. Anju, thank you for making our anniversary unforgettable!”

Service was incredible, and the atmosphere was surprisingly casual. Some particularly strong mushroom options and one oyster on offer for those wanting it. Maybe bc it was winter, I found the menu very homey and hardy without an over reliance on showmanship or crazy techniques and processes - at least in comparison to a lot of modern fine dining.”
