“The server, Karen is friendly and helpful. The crab dip is amazing. I live in New Mexico and visit Maryland once or twice a year. The Tavern is a must visit numerous times on each visit. Every time I make sure the crab dip is part of my order.“

“Service is amazing! Food was great. I ordered the steak salad and it was delicious, although the steak required 20 chews to swallow. Despite that, it was tender and tasted good. Maybe just sinewy? I'm super picky. Overall a fantastic dining experience. Besides the creepy guy sneezing and snotting next to me at the bar. :). Their prime rib is $70 so I'm definitely trying that as a birthday treat in July.“

“Yesterday my family was celebrating the 19th anniversary of the adoption of our three sons who are now in their mid-to-late 20's. Viktorija was our server, and she was phenomenal. She was very attentive, lots of fun and engaging, and made our afternoon really enjoyable for all of us. One of the best servers we've had - anywhere. None of us live in the area - it was half way for each of us, coming from PA and/or VA, so sadly we won't get to visit Viktorija more often. But we wanted to recognize her because she should be applauded for her excellent service.“

“As a transplant from Texas, we have been searching and trying a lot of Mexican restaurants. This little restaurant tucked away in a shopping center was a pleasant surprise. Wife liked her margarita and beef enchiladas. I enjoyed my carne asada with yucca and plantains. It is probably one of the better Mexican (type) restaurants in Fredrick area if we do not consider Guapo’s and Ixtapalapa.“

“OH MY GOD, where do I begin?!! I have been to and worked at MANY restaurants throughout my life, and I have to say that this one is just about at the top of the list! First, the entire staff was friendly, hard working and on top of everything! Our server Maryann couldn't have been more sweet and attentive. You could tell that she genuinely loved what she does. Secondly, the food was AMAZING!!! Everything that we had was FANTASTIC! Several of us ordered the All You Can Eat. The oysters, clams, mussels and crab legs were so fresh, hot, plump and delicious!!!! The fried shrimp and hush puppies were hot, crispy and delicious!! The crab soup was EXCELLENT! The steak was cooked perfectly. The Chicken Chesapeake was INCREDIBLE and so big that we had to take home half of it. Even the drinks were great. I don't think I've ever been to a place that EVERYTHING was perfect! I was happy for 2 days afterwards just reliving how wonderful everything was. We own a limousine company and from one owner to the owners of this establishment, YOU HAVE MASTERED YOUR TRADE!! I can't wait to get back there again!!“

“Me n my nephew have been going to averys almost every weekend at least once n we order the all you can eat CRABS. We usually stay for 3 to 4 hours n eat dozens of crabs ..our experience has been outstanding .Katie our server is the best n the crabs are amazingly good n I'm from anne arundel n Calvert county ..I rate them 5 out of 5 stars across the board ..“

“The food is incredible. It is simple perfection. It’s not a place of luxury but that’s what makes it a great atmosphere. It's run by love from the sweetest family. All of the decor is plane related and shows lots of history, which makes so much sense because it’s right next to an airport. You see all different types of customers and that’s also really cool. The service is quick, you don’t have to look for your server when you need something because they are checking on you at appropriate times. We love this restaurant. The only bad thing I have to say about it is I wish it were closer to us.“

“Stopped in on our way through town. Greeted by Jessica who apologized for the delay and asked for our patience. She took our drink order and brought our drinks over a few minutes later. We were then greeted by Craig, who was very friendly and outgoing. Both he and Jessica took their time giving their menu recommendations on a very slammed Sunday evening. “Next time we're getting actual crabs but we came in to get lunch and the crab cake, shrimp player and fish player did not disappoint. They bread everything there and the crab cake had mostly crab versus filler. Would definitely go back again.“

“A BLT at a seafood restaurant? Yes please. The bacon was in abundance and crispy, the bread was toasted and buttered and layered with a decent amount of mayo, the tomato was fresh as well. The fries were crispy hot and seasoned. The coleslaw was dry though, it def could've used more sauce but it was fine as a side. I also got a side of potato salad but it was not it at all, sadly.“

The prices were reasonable, although some of the seafood items like crab cakes were more in line with what you'd expect from a substantially more upscale restaurant.The main dining room was at about half capacity at p.m. on a Saturday night. Despite this, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat for our party of three. Maybe they were understaffed? Our server was a bit of a space cadet, but friendly.All in all, a decent choice if you're in New Market.“

Best thing we ordered was the escargot, the garlic oil was perfect to dip the bread into. The place was a bit empty but we came to eat a little bit early. “We had never eaten crabs in Frederick before. Compared to several places we go to regularly in and around Baltimore and on the Eastern shore of Maryland, I did not think the crabs were seasoned as well. They were also a bit smaller than we thought they should be for the size we ordered. The food was otherwise very good, and our server was excellent. The tables were a little small for crab picking, but we managed, and the server helped keep them clear. If I lived in the Frederick area, I might make the occasional trip to Baltimore for crabs, but May's would do the trick for most crab-craving days.“

“Been getting Crab Meat for crabcakes since they opened. I always got the Old Bay crab classic mix. Recently they don't have it and have their own mix. It was very tasty but a little spicy. You really can taste the mustard which is the most important part for a crabcake. Crab Classic you can't taste the mustard.“

“Lovely spot. I'm visiting the area from NYC and needed a late dinner. They served me even though they were closing soon and didn't rush me. I ordered takeout, two California rolls. The sushi chef prepared them in front of me, quickly but with precision. They were delicious and one of the best California rolls I've had. Very lovely staff. The rolls were very full, not skimping on the good stuff. Soy sauce was a tad salty for me, Ginger tasted fresh. Definitely must visit. Thank you ❤️❤️“
