“My family and I have been a big fan of the Mama Lucia franchise for more than three decades, and we’ve always considered it our go-to place for authentic NY style pizza. In recent years, I’ve been getting my pies from their Olney restaurant, where I met Javier, who is their pizzaiolo (pizza chef). Not too long ago, Javier started offering a square pan pizza called Grandma’s Special. It is a carefully crafted pie with moz cheese, simple crushed tomato sauce, and basil, which makes for a very traditional and authentic pizza. While it takes more time to make (~45min), the wait is certainly worth it: what you get is a thin, airy, crispy crust, simple and balanced ingredients, and the taste is phenomenal! It reminds me of the street pizza in Italy, and the pizza my pop used to make for our family when I was a kid. Javier takes much pride in his craft, and by adding this pizza to the menu, the has raised the Mama Lucia bar even higher. Next time you visit their Olney restaurant, ask Javier and give it a try; you will not be disappointed.“

“I consider Jackie and the crew at Hook & Reel Wheaton to be friends of mine. I work close by and pop in at the bar often. The Happy Hour, which starts at 1PM (yes, you read that correctly) has insanely low prices, and the "pour" on both glasses of wine and cocktails are unmatched. Great ambience, clean as a whistle, a ton of regulars at the bar and a Touchtunes jukebox on the wall to bring your own soundtrack with you. What's not to LOVE about this place? 🍷🍹🥂🍻🦀“

Not only the party and the staff, but the cuisine! ❤️ The appetizers (some of the freshest, delecate, perfectly prepared calamari), desserts (all amazing), main dishes (I had the salmon...yum!), but that salad dressing!!! It is the most delicious, freshest of flavors! Many of us purchased a bottle to bring home (I live in another state) and enjoy it immensely. i wished I lived nearby. They were knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our group. “We ate at this location twice recently. And both times we had William as a waiter. He was amazing both times. So friendly so helpful really made the dining experience something to remember. Will be back many times and will request William as our waiter. He’s just a wonderful person and a very professional waiter. The manager who I wish I could remember his name was also very helpful. “I placed a big order for Thanksgiving 🦃 and got around 50 wings 🍗 and fries 🍟. The wings came in 5 different flavors, and we were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality! With such a large order, we expected the wings to be soggy, but they were actually super crunchy and packed with flavor 😋👏.

The only downside was that the order came with just one container of ranch dipping sauce 😕, but the staff was really attentive, which made up for it 👍. The food was fantastic, and I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re craving amazing bone-in wings! 🔥🍴“
