“Nice place most times nice customers as in all places theirs the few undesirables but nice workers overall and convenient access to tables scrumptious crab rolls and burgers are handmade unlike other places from the freezer to the grill overall nice place”
“Ruth and Wimpy's in Hancock, Maine, is an absolute Downeast treasure. This charming eatery exudes a laid-back, authentic Maine vibe that's as inviting as your cousins' home. It's a place where you'll feel right at ease, and the hearty portions of delicious food only add to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. When you step inside Ruth and Wimpy's, you're not walking into a flashy restaurant; it's more like entering the cozy home of your long-lost relatives. The Downeast essence is palpable in every nook and cranny, from the decor to the friendly faces of the staff. The food at Ruth and Wimpy's is not only mouthwatering but served in generous portions. It's comfort food that warms the heart and fills the belly, just like a family gathering. The service is as friendly as a conversation with a close friend, and it's clear that they genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. The prices are incredibly reasonable, making it accessible to all. Yes, there might be a bit of a wait, but it's absolutely worth it. Ruth and Wimpy's is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that embodies the true spirit of Downeast Maine. If you're in the area, don't miss the chance to be welcomed with open arms and fantastic food at this hidden gem.”
“They are open all year & have great service and food! Crystal is so kind! The food, espresso & canned drink options are tasty - I especially liked the numerous options.Vegetarian options: Veggie sausage optionKid-friendliness: They have donuts and caffeine free drinks”
“The cheesecake was delicious! So many flavors but we settled on the apple crisp and it did not disappoint. Every trip to Arcadia will definitely include a pit stop here.”
“Delicious drinks and food. The crepes are to die for and the lobster roll is top 10 in Bar Harbor! Stinks that there’s no seating, but the grab and go location isn’t bad.”
“Thanks Mike and Andre (and the other unnamed employees) We were in Bar Harbor for 3 nights: we ate dinner here twice and one lunch. We tried the whole fried clams: fantastic! Lobster, fried haddock, lobster, lobster stew and local beers. Super value and super fresh. All the employees were smiling and helpful. I highly recommend this place!!!!”
“Sweet staff members and incredible food. Chips and salsa are always good but theirs are amazing. Get the chicken burrito and you will be so impressed by the flavors.”
“I'm not sure why this restaurant has gotten such average reviews. We went there for our anniversary dinner and the food was excellent. I had duck confit and it was amazing. We shared the whipped blueberry cheesecake and plan to go back again just for that. Highly recommend.”
“Great pub with a killer beer list. Had an awesome conversation with the owner who put on the Ohio State vs Michigan game for me. Come here if you want good beer.”
“WHAT AN AMAZING ROADSIDE ICE CREAM STAND! Top of the New England food list for me was something with blueberries and this knocked it out of the park. Ample serving for a reasonable price. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the weather while savoring one's treat. The ice cream was rich, not icy, and the blueberry flavor tasted very real versus manufactured. Service was friendly.”
“Fantastic breakfast and coffee spot. Loved everything we had there - so much that we went back multiple times while visiting. Staff was so friendly and helpful.Kid-friendliness: They were great with our large family and very kind!”
“We were vacationing from New Jersey.Maine is absolutely beautiful. Went to Geddy’s about 3 times and Brittany was our waitress. She was such a delight. We actually requested her every time we went for dinner there.”
“Had our first pie yesterday and am now having leftovers for breakfast . Holy Wow! Pie perfection ❤️Substantial and flaky crust. Ordered over the phone and so friendly and helpful . Apple salted caramel is divine . Can’t wait to try the savory hand pies !”
“Side Street Café is our favorite place to eat in Bar Harbor. This cafe has really great vibes and the service staff is always attentive and friendly. Their cocktails and mocktails are all superb and the "Born to Rum" cocktail is easily the best rum cocktail I've ever had. My wife and I really appreciate that Side Street Café offers a number of vegetarian and vegan options. These can be hard to come by at other restaurants in the area, but the veggie options here are to-die-for! We always get the Brussel sprouts starter. The maple bourbon glaze is the perfect balance of savory and sweet. We've had the hummus platter a few times and love it as a healthy starter before the meal. My recent go-to has been the Lean Machine veggie burger with a side of the house fries. The fries have a delicious salty seasoning and the burger features a delicious earthy flavor that balances well with the sweet spice of the mustard and the creaminess of the avocado. My wife loves the Emilia wrap. The hummus and basil pesto blend nicely with the fresh vegetables which also contribute to a very aesthetic, colorful meal. Whether you're sitting inside or out on the patio, the Side Street Café is the perfect way to celebrate a successful hike, bike ride, or cap off a day of shopping. If you haven't been to this Bar Harbor staple, you need to add it to your list.”
“Stopped there by chance leaving Acadia and looking for coffee and a snack. Had an amazing Curried chickpea smash with cucumber salad and arugula on rye. It was delicious, they have meat as well. I also had a dill potato salad which I enjoyed very much and a latte from Creative Coffee which is s right with them also yummy. We have noted it all to stop there in our next trip to Maine. Worth checking them out. Just a roadside stop with picnic tables outside (very nice ften the best places) and you must wear a mask to order at window.”
“The food and drinks were great! I had the verde taco which was one of the best tacos I've ever had, and a decaf Choco-latte. I would have loved to get a little more food for the price, but the taste made it worthwhile. The place was fairly crowded but it was still possible to choose a table. The staff were friendly and fast. The ambiance is great and felt comfortable for us - lots of light, kind of cool but unpretentious, just a really nice vibe.”
“Best pizza I've had in years. Chris was awesome. Super friendly and fast service to go with a great meal. My kids got the gluten-free pizza and loved it. It looked as good as the regular crust.”
“As a new traveler, this place never made me feel so welcomed to Bar Harbor and Maine. Excellent drinks and service, unmatched hospitality and love. If you are new to Bar Harbor, this should be your first stop.”
“Really nice fresh ingredients used to create delicious Food. Rich complex flavors and very satisfying on a winter's day. Fair pricing for the complexity of the dishes. We will definitely be back.”
“Hello there! We discovered your brand at the Maine Culinary Festival in Augusta last month and we LOVE your coffee! We were very loyal customers of another local coffee brand in our area for years, but after trying your products we switched to Coffee Hound coffee. Thank you for making such a delicious product right here in Maine! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, Leah &Todd M. Phillips, Maine”
“You're going here for cocktails. Do they serve beer? Yes... But that's like ordering grilled cheese at a seafood place (nothing wrong with the beer selection though). Understand this, the place is busier than it looks and making great cocktails is an art. This isn't a beer slinging joint where a order is compete in 60 seconds. Be patient. You're likely on vacation anyway. If you want to see a professional mixologist/bartender/artist, go to the Cottage Street Pub. See Cassidy (dark hair, teal highlights). Enjoy her professionalism and appropriate amount of sass. Cassidy mixed up FANTASTIC cocktails for us Monday through Thursday (July 17-20,-2023) (yeah, you read that correctly, we went four nights in a row). Not only did she mix the cocktails, but she mixed up great tunes the entire time as well. Read all that again, don't waste your time on beer here, get the cocktails. Learn the bartender's name, it helps to grab their attention when they are herding 100 cats. Hope you get Cassidy as your professional bartender! I'm sure the others are great, too.”
“Amazing place, staff is great especially Max (the bartender) he is very knowledgeable about the large whiskey selection and extremely nice. Bonus that this is closest irish pub to ireland in the United States. If you’re in emergency services they collect patches for the bar back from your department. Great food and plenty on tap to choose from. Mixed drinks are crafted with style.”
“It was a beautiful day and we had our dog so we asked for an outside table. The view overlooking the harbor was nice but it was the food that was outstanding. We had fish tacos, a reuben sandwich, and the best roasted brussel sprouts ever. 10/10”
“This place has the best pizza I've ever had. And at $2 a slice for the pepperoni, it's one of the cheapest slices in Ellsworth. Their whoopie pies are also phenomenal, and those are also only $2!! Meanwhile the whoopie pies in the area are disgusting and usually $5+. Amazing store, staff are nice and fast, food is delicious. I have yet to try their other food but plan on updating my review once I have.”
“Ummm yes please- the most delicious brownies, blondies, and this delicious fresh fruit amazingness!!!! Thank you, Karen for sharing your talent with your fortunate customers!!!!”
“Amazing place. Kitchen is open until 11pm which is a blessing! The staff is super chill and the food is amazing! The pulled pork sandwich is fire and so is the burger. Definitely check it out when you’re in town!”
“I was traveling through the area and stumbled upon this bakery. I wanted a blueberry pie made with the famous Maine blueberries. This was absolute delicious and done very well. My family in Pennsylvania loved it and thank you! If you haven’t eaten a slice maybe it’s time to start!”
“Don’t overlook as a special outting that’s also kid approved! My son was in awe of the setup, thoroughly enjoyed the provided games, and LOVED being outdoors and exploring. Tabitha is amazing!”
“We stayed here in our RV as part of thousand trails. The park was clean and the staff friendly. On-site laundry was convenient. Most of the sites are in total sun. Since was 4th July weekend they had some activities good for the whole family like bingo. Very convenient location to Acadia and Bar Harbor.”
“The food was fabulous. The oysters were the best I have ever had. The waitress was so friendly. She even shared her knowledge of the oysters with us. Would definitely go back, worth every penny.”
