“Hands down my favorite breakfast place near by. Everyone that works here is lovely and kind even when I bring my tornado toddler in and the food is incredible! Dying to try their dinner menu!”
“I highly recommend Rise Pizza and Pub! Every time I have been here since they opened the food has been absolutely amazing. I crave their pizza and wings. My favorites are the house-brined chicken wings, the grilled Caesar, and the pepperoni melanzana pizza. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.”
“Phenomenal food, excellent customer service. Consistently one of the best places around. You will be hard pressed to find anyone making better food in this area. A little on the pricy side, but WELL worth eating here.”
“Cute! The tiniest little establishment I ever did see!We were caffeine deprived & bordering on cranky, so imagine how siked we were when we searched on Yelp for COFFEE, PLEASE! & found this lil shack, right off i95. We giggled when we saw it. Truly the silliest coffee shop I've ever seen. "Shack" is the appropriate word. The employee at the drive-thru window was friendly & helpful. The whole interaction, from rolling up to rolling away with our goodies, took about 7 minutes. They had gluten-free bagel options which was a wonderful surprise, but they also were out of quite a few things - many types of bagels (both gluten-free & regular) & flavors of cream cheese. My bagel was about as good as any gluten-free bagel can get. I took a big whiff of my BFF's regular asiago bagel & it smelled fantastic. The iced lattes were a big hit & got us through the next 4+ hours of sitting in holiday weekend traffic. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again & I recommend this spot for anyone who is passing by on a road trip or becoming increasingly cranky without caffeine.”
“Not a huge burger King fan. This place was off the interstate during our travels. The staff was really friendly. The place was OK and connected to gas station. Just based on workers I would stop here again. It's usual burger King food so you know what it tastes like. It was hot and I didn't get sick from it or wrong order. So that's a huge plus. They did have claw machines if you stop with kids.”
“Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and delicious food the potion doesn’t reflect the premium, however. If food portion was 30% more, it would be 5-star.The lobster toast is a must have but 3 small bites is $17 or $22 with governments tax , restaurant appreciation tax and tip”
“Creative and modern. Small dishes so you can try lots of dishes. And you’ll want to. Every dish finished before delivery by chef. Every plate was awesome. Wish the crust for bread under tuna was thinner. Tough.”
“No frills and some of the best oysters I've ever had. Snow Island was a perfect balance of briny and sweet. Clam chowder is solid it's a little bit more like a bisque but they cooked the potatoes perfectly for a soup.”
“The food looks delicious and that’s why we came here. However, when we arrived around 1:05 pm, the lady at the entrance was very rudy and told us we couldn’t dine in without being in the waiting list. It’s not what she said, it’s the way she said it.-Restaurant reached out to me in the nicest way and apologized for the situation about the host. I will be giving them a try soon as the food looks fantastic. Looking forward to it.”
“We had our lunch with two dozens of oysters, lobster rolls, and chowder. One of the best oysters we ever had. The red onion ice, horseradish ice, and lemon pepper ice are smart idea and brought oyster’s flavor to another level!”
“Where do I start?? I completely enjoyed my experience at Scales from start to finish. They came recommended by two completely different people (a resident and someone who frequents the area) so after the second time hearing the name, it was settled. I had to try it. We had a short wait in the lounge area for the dining room to open and had a drink. The Lavender Haze with the pea flower infused gin was fantastic; Woke my taste buds right up! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and graciously answered all of my 784 questions to help us settle on what to order (everything sounded so amazing, I couldn’t decide). We settled on the grilled octopus for the appetizer and while in Maine, I HAD to get lobster. I have no regrets!! Everything we tried was phenomenal. After seeing other tables order the scallops, I would’ve loved to try them too but had absolutely no room left. I can say this was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. When in Portland, Maine EAT AT SCALES!!”
“I tried many ice cream shops in this town but the best scoop goes to this shop with Maine blueberry cobbler. The other flavors I tried were not as good as this single flavor so if you go, just get the cobbler, it's delicious. Across the street there is another fabulous place which has real Italian gelato which actually have decided is higher quality since all of their flavors are superb, but this blueberry cobbler one took my heart as the top contender flavor in Portland.”
“Of all the bakeries and coffee shops my husband and I tried on our trip to Portland, Tamdem was our favorite! The Americano was delicious and the salted coconut maple scone was one of the best I've ever had with the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside. I also tried the blood orange scone, which tasted a bit pithy to me. There was a line at 11:00 on a Saturday, but it moved quickly and there was plenty of seating outside.”
“This is a really nice place with really great food, and the staff is so welcoming it just creates an astonishingly enjoyable atmosphere. Would give ten stars per category if I could. Drove up all the way from Texas just for lobster and this place did not dissappoint! Definitely worth the visit.”
“We sat at the chef's bar to watch the kitchen action and opted to pick out 4 vegetarian options from the menu. The portions were generous for 2 people. If you are a big eater and like to take home leftovers, you can choose the Chef's tasting menu, because it is difficult to choose from all the menu options. Each dish was so tasty, with layers of robust flavor & texture. The food is very rich and while we couldn't eat like this every day, we thoroughly enjoyed every option we chose. Simple but creative dishes. We also savored an absolutely decadent chocolate dessert, craft beer & an alcohol free cocktail. The music was a great addition to the overall vibe, and the restaurant set up is unique and bar-style downstairs. I'm glad we close to sit on the ground floor and watch the action. There is also an option to sit at a table upstairs in the mezzanine. We plan to return to try other menu options. A unique dining experience. Very nice, attentive staff.”
“This place is an absolute must go to restaurant in Portland. The atmosphere is very cozy, at least in the space and the lighting, but super hip. They play lots of dancey, fun music, which wasn’t deafening or obnoxious but just added to the great vibe. They have lots of great options, all smaller plates which makes it so much fun to share with whoever you’re with. We got the garlic edamame, bacon mochi, the cabbage pancake (I forget the official name, forgive me), and the udon. Every bite was perfect, and the service was awesome. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super attentive despite being busy. The cocktail menu is also fantastic! Definitely worth trying at *least* one.”
“We had a wonderful dinner at Isa Bistro. The food was simply delicious & reasonably priced. Portions were good. Nice selection of Wines, Cocktails and beer. The ambiance is cozy yet refined. Excellent customer service!! This will be one of our new go to restaurants.”
“The food at Hunt and Alpine is always amazing and the cocktails are consistently the best I have had. Nothing on the drink menu jumping out at you? Tell them what you like and they will surprise you. We go there multiple times per trip and never get tired of it.”
“One word : Amazing Beautiful warm vibe Excellent food Excellent staff Free parking out back : ) Cannot say enough about how you have to experience Fore Street ( if you can score a Rez)”
“Really super delicious! My husband is from the middle east and this meal was homey and amazing to celebrate his birthday. We are definitely hard critics when it comes to middle eastern food and this exceeded our expectations. Perfect balance of flavors not too overpowering spices but not bland by any means. Probably our new favorite spot for pita pockets and will definitely be back often. Also a great price point and a good amount of food. Cant say enough good things! Happy to have found them on instagram to give a try. Thank you for helping me give my man a great birthday lunch! ?”
“Definitely should have looked at the menu before entering. However, felt obligated to stay once we realized how many employees were standing and staring at us as soon as we walked in. No shortage of attention. The bartender was friendly and attentive, but no cocktails struck our fancy. Other than chartreuse.Oysters and cod cheek were tasty.Atmosphere wasn’t as expected for a tavern, but I could see this being an amazing stop.”
“This is a great up and coming restaurant in Portland. They have a few minor details to work on, but overall a very good experience. The wait staff is clearly working on Michelin style service techniques including uniform plate setting at tables, napkin etiquette, and plate presentation. Our waiter was overall good, but a bit cold and stand-offish. The menu has some great local ingredients, but it seems like they are trying too hard to get the buzz words in the menu. For example I enjoyed the Cauliflower Gratin and the menu description included local uni and lobster. The flavors of the cauliflower and the sauce were strong and really overwhelmed the delicate flavor of local uni to the point that the uni just took a back seat. The dry aged duck was wonderful and the aging process truly brought a unique texture and moistness to the duck. I also sampled the Atlantic cod dish which had a delicious broth, but was served with charred union which just did not match the delicate flavors of the broth. Overall a very good experience and worth a visit. I expect they will only get better with time.”
“You go here for the fries, you get the fries, you enjoy the fries. It is a worthwhile trip to Portland after visiting Duckfat, which despite its small interior, provides a soothing (and flavorful) relief after travel. The service is exemplary, as each employee is truly friendly (and can provide their opinions on the sauces to dip your fries in).”
“From the second we walked in the door we felt like old friends of this cool spot. The music was kickin' it old school, the drinks and food were stellar, and Andrew and Grayson made us feel special! Try one of EVERYTHING and you still won't find anything you don't like. My husband wanted lobster AND a haddock sandwich...what did Grayson do? Made it happen and thus the "claw fish sandwich" was born! I had the Jr surf and turf burger. My only regret is that I got the Jr portion and not the regular size. Get the fries with anything! They are perfectly seasoned and fried. This was our first time here BUT it won't be our last. Can't wait to try some new things on the menu. What's really a sweet deal about this spot is that they have a Jr. size of some of the options! When you want it ALL, but can't eat it ALL, you can still try it ALL! Psst. They have a GREAT homemade Bloody Mary Mix too.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant and restrooms are compliant and I recommend a visit to the cleanest public bathroom you'll ever see!”
“Quick update: I highly recommend Miyake as a place to stop in for lunch, too! It's a quieter vibe than dinner, so perfect for grabbing a seat at the sushi bar. There are bento box lunch specials and chef's choice sushi and sashimi, or you can order rolls from the lunch menu; I had a wonderful red snapper ceviche roll and of course, their wonderful miso soup!”
“My Fiance and I came here for my birthday dinner and we were very impressed. We started off with the Meatballs and the Sourdough bread didnt lack in flavor and got us more excited for our entrees. Our server Rich was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We ordered the gnocchi and bolognese both were amazing the flavor combinations meshed and had our taste buds bouncing. We ordered the panna cotta, tiramisu, and another dessert with waffle cones and espresso and all 3 were spectacular!”
“This coffee shop was great! I had a coconut cream pie latte, which was delicious!I also had a bacon, egg, and liptao breakfast sandwich. The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the whole thing was tasty!Next time I'm in Portland, I will definitely be back!”
“Phenomenal!!! A must visit. Cocktails and food far exceeded expectations. Atmosphere amazing and service staff in speak easy portion outstanding. Will be back next time we are in Portland.Parking: Parked in garage near back entrance, very convenient. 7$ per hour.”
“I really enjoyed my visit to Maine Beer Co. I will definitely come back next time I'm in this part of the country. The beers were excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. While I did not have pizza while I was there, that have a good menu as well. The patio is dog friendly.”
“If you’re thinking about it… just make a reservation and go — you won’t regret it.Wander at LongWoods is a magical place that embodies the spirit of Maine. We visited during the winter and had the most wonderful dining experience, so much so that we are already planning our next visit for the summer. I can’t wait to sit outside and enjoy everything this place has to offer.Located inside LongWoods preserve, with miles of trails and even a farm, Wander is all about sustainability, local ingredients, and an authentic farm-to-table experience. From the moment we drove into the preserve, the beautiful exterior of the restaurant took us aback. You can tell that much thought and energy went into this project. It was love at first sight as soon as we walked inside for dinner. The dimly lit ambiance, the decor, the vintage photos hung around, the bar… it was all perfect! It was barn meets fine dining without it being too pretentious.Sharing plates is the way to go at Wander! We started with the Tagliatelle (lamb, fennel, leek, parmesan), and I am still thinking about it. It was the perfect pasta, one of the best I’ve ever had. We tried their wood-fired pizzas as well — which was risky because my partner doesn’t even like thin-style pizza too much — but he loved theirs. We had the Terrace (red base, organic tomatoes, mozzarella, sweet Italian sausage, hot cherry peppers, shallots) and the Grandma (white base, mozzarella, parmesan, pecorino, San Marzano tomatoes, basil, parsley) and both were incredible. The grandma was herby, with lots of parsley and a lemony taste, while the terrace was spicy, so avoid it if you don’t like it hot!We accompanied our dinner with a bottle of Bordeaux, which was just delicious. It was the perfect pairing for our pasta and pizza. My one constructive suggestion for Wander is to expand their wine list in terms of prices! The cheapest bottle on the menu was around $45-50. That felt a bit odd, given that the pizza and the rest of the menu are priced reasonably.Moving onto desserts… I think this was the highlight of the night. The banana bread pudding was to die for! I’ve never tried such good banana bread pudding. The vanilla cheesecake was also quite yummy. It was hard to pick a favorite, but I’ll have to go with the banana bread. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest!Wander: thank you for a fantastic dinner experience.”
