“Stopped in during a recent trip down to Portland and was blown away. When I walked in I was told about all of their goodies, allergen info, and extensive options by a woman who completely matched my energy and excitement :)
I left with way more goodies than I could eat in a week so I froze some. The bagels were out of this world!! As a former New Yorker, finding a gf bagel has been HARD until now. They froze really well and taste delicious. I got a variety of sweet treats and was not disappointed by any of them. We will be sure to stop in any time we're nearby or passing through.“

“I've been eating Standard Baking Co bread since I brought it back to NYC with me on Sunday (it's Wednesday now). I first had their bread at Fore Street Restaurant and just knew I had to stop by before leaving Portland. It was worth the wait. The pastries are incredible and the bread even better!“

Honestly what a gem, the empanadas are top tier! I was blown away by the Puerco but both the Pollo and Dulce were incredible! You can tell how fresh and ready to order all of the food is, and made with great ingredients. Highly recommend!“

“Popped in on a whim for happy hour and we were so glad we stumbled on this restaurant! I had a spicy marg and my husband had a charro negro, both were delicious and full strength! We had the perfect snacks to go with it - salsas and tostados and some fish tacos. The staff were warm and friendly. Would recommend!“

“Rarely do I leave a review, but this place is outstanding and definitely deserves the hype! So good we returned for a second time over the course of our long weekend stay. First of all, the vibes inside this cute little café are immaculate. All the staff were warm, inviting (both times we went) and very attentive to provide a great dining experience. But let’s get to the best part, which is truly the food (the Como se dice Bon Giorno sandwich to be specific). The English muffins are made in house, and you can tell the difference! They take their delicious baked staples and curate them for the holiday/season. Is it a little pricier? Sure but nothing unexpected for dining in the Portland area, and the quality most certainly justifies the price. I highly recommend and definitely plan to return on following trips, as this is our new staple for breakfast in the Portland area!“

“Went in today for the first time and food was amazing! Ordered a latte and the girl that took my order wasn’t the friendliest. I last minute decided I wanted a latte, and asked for it to be made with oatmilk she seemed annoyed and said it comes with oatmilk with an attitude. There is no info stating that the latte comes with oatmilk so not sure how I was supposed to know that. The guy who made my drink was extremely friendly and when my food order was ready the cooks were also super friendly! Great food and latte, will be back for sure!“

“Our family had an amazing time at Gather last Friday. Krista was great to work with and helped organize a reservation for our party of 19 people. She was very accommodating and quick to respond to any requests. The spot is beautiful and the food was delicious. I think our group tried almost everything on the menu and everyone was very impressed. The food, drinks and atmosphere were all perfect. I would highly recommend for a date night or a private event. You won't be disappointed.😊“

“It’s my dad’s and my go-to lunch spot, especially after Sunday morning church. Since he can’t hear from his left ear due to surgery, noisy places are hard for him to tolerate. El Rayo is perfect because it has a calm, comfortable atmosphere.“

“Vegan build your own pizza was awesome. The cheese was so well cooked, it even had the brown bubble spots! We ordered 2 pizzas for the table, 1 vegan & 1 full carnivore style, both outstanding! They have two locations so be careful which one you order from. I ordered on DoorDash pickup and it defaults to the one on Congress St.
If you select red chill peppers - they are going to douse your pizza in it. So beware and go easy. Our pizza was generously sprinkled with lots of chilli flakes and it kind of ruined it for us. Wish they’d just give you paprika on the side instead of overdoing it on the pizza. Other than that it’s just regular average pizza on a cozy night in. Enjoy!“

“Was in the area and stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was great, the hazelnut porter was great but my entree not so much. I ordered the mushroom sacchetti and the sauce was full of long strips of onion. They seemed very out of place like they didn't belong in the recipe. They weren't fully cooked, it was all you could smell and all you could taste. It totally overpowered the mushroom and sacchetti. I kind of wondered if the chef was new and accidentally added them. LOL“

“Great food at a great price. our monthly friends lunch met here again today. I love the Power Lunch. Your choice of individual pizza along with soup or a salad. I chose the Primo pizza and salad. Only $15 and it's a lot of food and it tastes really good. The salad came out first, and it was big. The pizza was next and very hot, fresh out of the oven. It was also quite good. I've been here before, and I'll be back again. My three friends all loved their food, especially the French Onion soup. Our server was attentive without being invasive. Tuesday lunch meant no crowd, but this place can accommodate a lot of people. Plenty of parking, handicap accessible, and well located near plenty of other businesses and places of interest.“
