Honestly what a gem, the empanadas are top tier! I was blown away by the Puerco but both the Pollo and Dulce were incredible! You can tell how fresh and ready to order all of the food is, and made with great ingredients. Highly recommend!“

The breads and pastries are consistently excellent, everything feels fresh, and there’s usually something new to tempt you at the counter. It can get busy, but the quality makes it worth it. “Rarely do I leave a review, but this place is outstanding and definitely deserves the hype! So good we returned for a second time over the course of our long weekend stay. First of all, the vibes inside this cute little café are immaculate. All the staff were warm, inviting (both times we went) and very attentive to provide a great dining experience. But let’s get to the best part, which is truly the food (the Como se dice Bon Giorno sandwich to be specific). The English muffins are made in house, and you can tell the difference! They take their delicious baked staples and curate them for the holiday/season. Is it a little pricier? Sure but nothing unexpected for dining in the Portland area, and the quality most certainly justifies the price. I highly recommend and definitely plan to return on following trips, as this is our new staple for breakfast in the Portland area!“

“I was visiting Portland this weekend and was told I had to try this pizza. It was outside the delivery time, so I used Grubhub to send to us lunch while waiting in line for the Djo concert at Thompson’s Point. Grubhub delivery never picked up my order, so the Portland Pie manager brought me my order in his personal car as a pure act of human kindness. The pizza and the spinach dip were amazing!!! We were so thankful for this generous act and delicious meal. Good food is nothing without true customer service and this place has BOTH! I will share this story with everyone and will always remember this event with warmth in my heart! Thank you Portland Pie!!!!“

“It’s my dad’s and my go-to lunch spot, especially after Sunday morning church. Since he can’t hear from his left ear due to surgery, noisy places are hard for him to tolerate. El Rayo is perfect because it has a calm, comfortable atmosphere.“

“We ate here for lunch on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is industrial but still enjoyable. The pizza was really good. We had a Team Remix and a few margherita slices (🍅🌿). We had a Tubular draft also. Service was efficient. Pizza came out in a timely manner. Would come again.“

They have two locations so be careful which one you order from. I ordered on DoorDash pickup and it defaults to the one on Congress St.
If you select red chill peppers - they are going to douse your pizza in it. So beware and go easy. Our pizza was generously sprinkled with lots of chilli flakes and it kind of ruined it for us. Wish they’d just give you paprika on the side instead of overdoing it on the pizza. Other than that it’s just regular average pizza on a cozy night in. Enjoy!“

“Great food at a great price. our monthly friends lunch met here again today. I love the Power Lunch. Your choice of individual pizza along with soup or a salad. I chose the Primo pizza and salad. Only $15 and it's a lot of food and it tastes really good. The salad came out first, and it was big. The pizza was next and very hot, fresh out of the oven. It was also quite good. I've been here before, and I'll be back again. My three friends all loved their food, especially the French Onion soup. Our server was attentive without being invasive. Tuesday lunch meant no crowd, but this place can accommodate a lot of people. Plenty of parking, handicap accessible, and well located near plenty of other businesses and places of interest.“
