“To me I don't have such an advanced palate as to be a coffee snob. For me what makes the coffee great is The smiling faces of the people who serve it to me. This aroma Joe's has such a friendly staff I just feel good coming here.”

“Went out for the 1st time this year, and had an amazing time. They have added a lot to the space since the last time we went, and it looks great. They had trivia, and the host Matt was engaging and fun, great questions too. The cider is my favorite for a reason, and never disappoints. The staff was so nice and welcoming. One of the owners, Ned, took time to walk around and talk to every group, you can tell the company and product is close to his heart. They also added a kitchen, and we ordered literally half the menu. Zacks enthusiasm for his menu, and his larger vision for the space is infectious. The food was perfect, highly recommend one of the smash burgers. Will definitely be returning! 10 stars”

“Excellent service, excellent food, etc. I've been here since I was a kid!
I love this place. The only issue is, prices have definitely gone up over the last few years.
(At least I'm pretty sure, because their food isnt cheap at all.)
It's still worth going to eat there, but I try to make my visits a little bit more infrequent given the price.”

“Best Reuben I think I’ve ever had, the salads are amazing too! You’re getting gourmet level ceaser salad and the chef salad is full of really good fresh veggies including red peppers and high quality butter lettuce. I’m very impressed with the new chef!!!!”
“Limited info to review office staff but recently had a technician clean our furnace. Colby was excellent, my husband gives him a 10/10 on knowledge, customer service and professionalism. Thank you Colby!”

“atmosphere is low only because it's a takeout only and not a sit in, not their fault, otherwise amazing place amazing food. Wish it was a sit in as I used to come eat in with my mother when I was younger, was amazing.”

“I will admit that I have had some of the bad experiences listed here in the past. Lately though, they have been 2 especially great employees in Olivia and a friendly young man working with her this morn 1/21/19. The coffee has been hot and the right strength and Olivia always gives me a perfect egg, bacon and cheese on a croissant. A perfectly toasted and not limp croissant!!! I have always thought the problem at the place was in the training. Some needed more training in putting out consistently good product and didn't get it. Anyway, I saw the young man working on Christmas. I sure hope the owners appreciate these two employees and compensate them fairly. When either or both are working, the whole feel of the place has changed!”

“The Lost Kitchen delivers an immersive Maine experience worthy of a special trip! I came in from Pennsylvania just for this restaurant and it was worth every moment of travel.
I came to know about The Lost Kitchen after stumbling upon Erin French being a special guest on one of Ina Garten’s shows. I fell in love with her personal story and dreamt of the day I could go to Maine and try her food. Understanding the unlikelihood of having my postcard selected in the lottery system I was shocked when I randomly visited the website to see the restaurant was offering a Sips and Nibbles service (lunch) that didn’t require reservations. Needless to say, I made a special trip in from Pennsylvania and the experience didn’t disappoint. In fact, I’d do it all over again.
The menu is approachable and fun offering fried chicken with a slaw side, a ham and cheese sandwich, and cornbread with an herbed butter and a fall squash soup. The food was done to perfection and tells a story about Maine through subtle touches of elegance. A small stroke of genius to elevate a ham and cheese sandwich by using a buttery, flakey scone enriched with local honey as the bread. Sweet, salty, smokey, and rich. Fried chicken was crunchy, melt in your mouth, and well needed reminder that simple doesn’t always mean boring. This chicken was a star and a perfect menu item for a beautiful Fall day dining alfresco. The cornbread, for me, was the biggest surprise. I’m used to a dry and gritty version, but this was moist with a beautiful crumb and makes me wonder what I’ve been served my whole life up to this moment. The soup was fresh and well spiced - a perfect pairing with the cornbread. I would gladly down a shot glass of that soup any day!
The restaurant, outdoor space for lounging and dining, and setting is something magical feeling. You feel like you’re at someone’s home and the staff make you feel so welcomed it’s crazy. What I’ve come to know during my trip is a very Maine experience.
There’s also a cute store attached to the restaurant and bottle shop. There’s so many amazing local products in the store. Everything feels curated to give you a feeling of what Maine is about and I found lots of goodies to take back home with me. I particularly love the local coffee that is roasted just for The Lost Kitchen.
What can I say? The Lost Kitchen has a magical quality to it. It’s worth a special trip to Freedom, Maine, and I hope everyone can leave feeling as good as this place made me feel. And what can be better than that?”
