“My partner and I are in the process of moving to the area and were excited to see a little hole-in-the-wall diner right down the street from us, and it didn’t disappoint! I certainly wouldn’t go here looking for a fancy gourmet omelet or avocado toast, but if you want a good, simple, CHEAP breakfast this is clearly the place to go. For a combined $26 INCLUDING tax and a tip, we got a basic breakfast plate each including some combination of eggs/potatoes/toast/bacon/coffee along with a single slice of French toast to share, and it was plenty of food for the price. Service was good, it appears that there are just two women working there— one cooking, one serving, and while it certainly wasn’t busy when we went they handled everything very quickly and pleasantly. The place itself is super dated and could use some sprucing up, but honestly that’s part of the charm in my opinion. Breakfast here was like a pleasant trip in a time machine back to my childhood, and I would definitely go again for a quick bite or an affordable outing with some friends.”

“Best Haddock basket by far. I hate fish. My husband is from England and only eats fish and chips, it looked so good I asked for a bite and I can't wait to go back and get my own. The fish is moist, flaky, buttery, Melts in your mouth. The husband says it's the best around in our area. Friendly staff and clean environment.”

“I ordered an energy cold brew ice coffee, over $6, which is cold brew coffee and a fresh brew espresso shot why was this lady saying they were trained to put fake Imitation espresso shot. If your going to change the way it is made should change the price to. This dunkin is nasty everytime.”

“The Iraqi Kebab Market is where I go when I'm craving flavor. Prices are very reasonable, especially for portion size, and the food is consistently great. We got a friend their Iraqi pickles and baklava set from the grocery side of the store and he loved them. It's fun to try a little drink whenever we go: my boyfriend is a big fan of the yogurt drink and I am partial to a mango juice.Dietary restrictions: Everything is halal and there is no alcohol served.”

“They have some of the best coffee and it's really nice to have a cafe in the area where you can sit and sip for a while. Their pastries are good, but nothing too spectacular and you never know which ones will be in stock. I find their cakes to be a little dry and overly sweet, although the lemon cake frosting tends to even that out. It's not somewhere I go regularly, but it's good for special occasions; the pastry boxes and tea time sets are very nice.”

“I'm almost afraid to post this as I don't want to let the secret out. First time in, we stopped in for brunch. Had THE BEST sausage gravy I've ever had, and it's something I try everywhere I go. The wife even liked it, and she is normally not a fan. It was served over the most delicious, crunchy sourdough toast. Amazing! She had the steak bomb breakfast burrito and we both loved it. They didn't have hot coffee, but their iced coffee was a pretty good substitute. Waitstaff was pleasant, helpful, and very friendly. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner. Love the historic theme. It showcases an important part of the state's history in a really classy and tasteful way.Kid-friendliness: Strong pub vibes, so not really aimed at kids. No kids menu for brunch. That being said. We brought our 5 year old grandson. They were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. He had their French toast and bacon with chocolate milk(in a glass, but we made it work) He really enjoyed the river jack theme and we spent our meal looking at the photos and log Amp on the walls and talking about log drives”

“First time eating here was a first rate dinner. Are a lunch meal here, fantastic. Staff went out of there way to keep you happy. Servings were more than I could eat. Yes, take exit 133 turn towards Skowhehan less than a mile on the right. It's worth a stop. Locals said there breakfasts are wonderful.”

“This place had an interesting atmosphere. The food was good and presented well. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating.Parking: They screwed with the parking situation downtown in an attempt at gentrification to appeal to the college crowd's families. This resulted in far worse traffic and fewer parking spots. You may have to park in the Goodwill parking lot and walk, if there is room there.”

“Sunrise has the best bagels in central Maine. Their sandwiches are awesome, too. The Hathaway and Sherwin are personal favorites. The Kennebec is the best pork roll you’ll find north of Jersey.”

“Who knew having beers while watching chickens roaming outdoors could be so therapeutic?If you're around the area and want a great pour, you have to visit Sidereal Farm Brewery. Set on a farm, this brewery was just fantastic. Their beers were really fun (and delicious), and according to the staff, they release new beers every week. They had light beers, dark beers, fruity ones, and honestly, everything else in between. There is plenty of indoor seating in a cozy atmosphere with a few outdoor tables (where they let you be with your pup as long as they're leashed). They have many chickens outdoors, just roaming around. It's just a great spot. We didn't get to try the food, unfortunately, so we'll have to go back for that.”

“The food here was excellent! Fabulous grilled eggplant, scallops, dolmas, etc. Menu options are marked vegetarian, vegan and gluten free with many gluten free items to choose from. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and all the staff made us feel welcome. “I truly enjoy dining at the Two Cent! I typically only go on trivia nights to kill two birds with one stone, and I'm never disappointed. The owner is amazing and a heck of a hard worker, but she will always take time to thank you - or even chat for a sec if things aren't too busy. Food is great. The servers are always kind and attentive. The atmosphere is a fun pub vibe. And they have events most days they are open. “Ordered takeout online and food was ready when it said it would be. Everything was still nice and warm by the time we got it home. Fries were crispy (I could have had more), no complaints on the steak bombs, and the wings were good too (didn't see an option online to get a side of ranch or anything, that would be nice). “The Jewel of India is a locally owned non chain restaurant. They do a great job with friendly service and serving really amazing food. The staff does a great job of describing the menu and making sure your not getting a hot dish if your palette can't take it, buuut they will also kick up the heat if that's what u like. If your in waterville check this place out. It's well worth the stop.Dietary restrictions: Even though the menu doesn't say it they have lots of gluten free options. So ask your server about that.”

“A very caring owner - cares deeply about the quality of his food and the quality of service of the customers. We have been loyal fans of his food, for decades, when he ran his Beale St. BBQ restaurant in Bath, which sadly no longer exists. He has a a FB page with information about pop up openings - Follow them closely and try to arrive at the beginning of his opening, he sells out FAST! It's a take out spot in Fairfield with plenty of parking given the fact people are picking up their food and leaving. We love everything he serves! literally everything on the menu! St. Louis Ribs, Brisket, Pork Shoulder, Mac and Cheese, Cabbage/Carrot side, Cornbread. So comforting and so delicious. We highly recommend stopping by when he is open.”
