“I had a phenomenal experience visiting The Barnacle in Bar Harbor! If you are looking for a cozy, authentic oyster bar with a welcoming maritime vibe, this is absolutely the spot to go. The intimate, rustic atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy fresh seafood after a day of exploring.
The oysters were exceptionally fresh, cold, and expertly shucked, pairing beautifully with their fantastic selection of unique craft cocktails and local draft beers. Every bite and sip was top-notch. However, what really elevated the visit was the stellar team working behind the bar. They were incredibly friendly, fast, and provided great recommendations on the different oyster varieties.
A huge thank you to the awesome staff for their wonderful hospitality and great energy! You made us feel right at home, and your exceptional service is a massive reason why this place stands out. We will definitely be back for more oysters and drinks on our next trip to the area!“

“We had the best time and best food here! My sister and I and our families and my two pups all ate dinner here on August 16th, 2024. Our service was excellent and the food was SO good. My pups were greeted and given a bowl of water and enjoyed the smoked turkey off dog menu too! Solid selection of local beers and nice variety of cocktails to choose from too. I would highly recommend checking this place out. There’s also an ice cream shop right next door, if you happen to not be too stuffed after your meal!“
“We were here on vacation from Indiana and loved the atmosphere! Happy hour oysters and drinks were awesome (the gin blueberry special drink is great). Staff was very nice, Skylar and Amy (Aimee) were very friendly and knowledgeable.“

“Stopped in to grab something before a tour and they were quick! I really liked the blueberry latte but giving 4 stars since the other pumpkin spice latte we got was pretty bland even after trying to stir it up as much as we could. Definitely get something with blueberry in it if you like flavoring in your coffee!“

“Real Ale is the best Red I think I have ever had. Left with a case!! Smashburger is amazing! Staff was so welcoming, we sat at the Bar, I dont know the bartenders name , from Mass i think but she was the best! All in, We loved it.“

“I was hesitant about taking my young family here, but the loft did not disappoint! It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! We can't wait to go back! The staff and food was amazing, and they even catered to my two children (1yr and 4yrs old).“

“July 2026. We stopped in for two cocktails and lunch. Cocktails were very good and not short on alcohol. Sat outside along sidewalk, and the view was great. Service was professional, right down to uniformed wait staff, commensurate with a five star joint. We shared the corned beef Ruben which was excellent. Shaved thin, fat attached, with an excellent horseradish mustard dressing. Excellent spiced, but not spicy, fries.“

“Slice of Eden made our wedding cupcakes last year and they were fantastic! We had half of them made as chocolate with Swiss buttercream icing and half blueberry lemon cupcakes with whipped cream icing. They were a huge hit and gone so fast! We decided to have them make us a small blueberry lemon cake with whipped cream icing for our anniversary this year since we did not have one to save from our wedding. They knocked it out of the park! I can’t say enough good things about this place!“

We’ve lived in the area for over a decade, but just tried Ironbound for the first time on Labor Day weekend, and we will definitely be back!“
