I’ll be honest, I was a little confused at first because it was something totally new, but once we settled in, it turned into a really fun and memorable experience.

The atmosphere was cozy, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious from start to finish. As a local Realtor, I’m always telling people that it’s places like this that make living and spending time in Kennebunkport so special — especially in the winter.

Definitely a unique experience and one I’d recommend if you’re looking for something a little different.

“We stopped at Mikes for Breakfast as we met up with some friends. It was a buzy place and the waiter was great. Our Meal had some issues with delivery of what we ordered is not what we got. We were told that they had some new staff training in the kitchen and should of had someone overseeing them before the food left the kitchen. For the price that they charge should of been delivered a little different than what we got.“

“Kennebunk is not exactly known for creative dishes. Its catering to an older crowd that doesn't do much seasoning and typically wants seafood in the summer. So...it might be hard to believe, but some of the most interesting, creative and delicious food in Kennebunk (and Kennebunkport for that matter) is to be had at the local bowling alley, Garden Bowl and its restaurant, Crotux.

Their menu on its surface is simple american- appetizers, sandwiches, fries, poutine, flatbreads, some mains, but on closer inspection all these dishes are a dial different. Pork belly and fried feta on the appetizer menu. Sides like hot honey kimchi, sandwiches like spanokopita melt (absolutely delicous), spiced chopped cheese with ground lamb, pulled pork with creative, ethnically influenced toppings. And a set of mains that would please many foodies with unique items like Hunters Veggie pie and miso glazed Hangar Stake.

I'm not a fan of flatbreads but there are a few things on the menu I return to: the burgers are the best in the area, the sherried mushroom risotto is ridiculously delicious, and the Hunters Pile is probably my favorite veggie dish in the world. I don't eat chorizo but my hubby loves the roasted delicata squash. We simply haven't had a bad meal here.

The only bummer is the fact that it is in a bowling alley and the area is completely open to it means it is really difficult to have a conversation. People talk loud to get over the noise, so that just exacerbates things. You get to hear conversations you never really wanted to.

But all in all, its some of my favorite food in the area that makes it worth dealing with the sound of strikes and spares.“

“Food came out quickly. Waitress was efficient. The nachos were really good and the Key Lime Pie dessert martini was delicious. Bathrooms needed cleaning, both men and women's were kind of gross. Women's was super sticky floors and I saw a few bugs on the floor in both bathroom and main dining area.“

“OMG the waitress was incredible! We had a beer flight and she was out of one beer so she gave us a pumpkin spice with sugar and cinnamon on the rim, it was delicious. I had the Maine sampler (lobster roll, clam chowder, fries and blueberry cobbler)and hubby had the fish and chips. Both were delicious and we enjoyed the view of the boats docked while we ate. The waitress never forgot us, she checked to see if we needed anything and told us about local must sees. Well worth the trip.“

“My first time here. See pic of receipt. Cheap price !! I got general tso lunch special. Container weighed about 5 pounds. Lol. I got ant 12 big nugs, broccoli rice. Was hot, not too spicy, right amount of flavor i like, and fast service !! I traveled 25 minutes to try it out, and it was worth the trip. I'm exploring the area as well.“

“Food tasted and smelled great. My buffalo chicken calzone was good but a little too much hot sauce. The kids loved their pizza. My wife had no complaints about her canzone. Biggest down fall to this restaurant is the parking. There are 3 spots out front on the road, maybe one in the back, and whatever else you can find across the street.“
