“We randomly found the Black Bear cafe when we were driving from Naples back to Windham while on vacation. It was the perfect spot to bring our 16 month old! First all the staff we met were extremely nice and helpful! The food was excellent and highly recommend the fish and chips!! The best part was the musician they had that night. We were sitting at table right next to the set up. He talked to us the whole time and even sang our son his favorite song... Old Macdonald. It was one of our favorite parts of our Maine vacation!“
“The homemade iced tea and lemonade were delicious. The lobster popovers and the lobster stew were divine. Even my side salad was excellent. Only thing to steer clear of are the mozzarella sticks. Also wish they had dessert. The staff were simply lovely. New fave.“
“Dropped in bc it was the only thing open. They stayed open later for us and even told us we had less than 5 min to order pizza. Ryan was a great bartender! Don't knock the mashed potato pizza. Sounded awful but MAN!! Delicious!!! Also got pepperoni/sausage pizza. Ryan's sausage was AMAZING! (you see what I did there?) Great little local bar with yummy food, lots of of drink choices and kick ass conversations. Hope to go back during our quick trip to Maine!“
“Alyssa was amazing tonight. She is incredible and our food was outstanding. It was the best chicken I have ever had. The view is gorgeous and I can't recommend this place enough. Try and ask for Alyssa to be your waitress because she was out of this world.“
“Stopped in with my sister and my nephew last night for dinner. Very unassuming, but pleasant looking place. Imagine our surprise to find they some of the best prime rib I have ever had. They also now have a full bar and the drinks are killer!! The staff was super nice and truly friendly. All the food was delicious, portions extraordinary, and the atmosphere is very family friendly. Definitely will be going back....some how!!“
“It's kind of rustic in here . We usually sit at the bar . Service is great and food is always delicious. We had the sweet chili smoked wings and pulled pork on top of French fries . Both dishes were very flavorful . The beans and ribs are also good here . Acoustic music on Saturday nights is fun to listen to . The bartenders are very attentive and friendly.“
“Loved the sweet potato mash and mashed potato’s. The pastrami sandwich was really good and my husband loved his fish and chips. The kids’ steak tips meal was awesome! The macaroni was a miss for us, but otherwise everything was great, food and the service!“
“What a great meal. We got there before 5pm on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. We ordered fried zucchini for an appetizer. Another round of drinks. We got the pot roast, steak tips and ribs for dinner. I had brussel sprouts as my vegetable. By the time dinner was fun, we were all completely stuffed. Headed back to the house in time to enjoy the rest of the evening.“
“Beautiful, elegantly retro designed theater hearkening back to an earlier time. Experience was unique.Staff was most helpful and accommodating.Truly a grande experience. We are fortunate to have this venue here in the lakes region. You won't be disappointed!“
“During our last visit to Maine, friends suggested that we all go to the "Top of the Hill Grille" for breakfast. Good pick, the food was flavorful, I had scrambled eggs with cheese, peppers, and onions and a fresh fruit cup. Hubby had a Greek Omelette that he said was delicious. Service was excellent!“
“We shared a large Caeser Salad and both had the haddock sandwich with onion rings instead of fries. The food was all very good and we were both satisfied with the portion size. We had opted for the sandwich instead of the haddock dinner and saved $9 per person. We were both stuffed, so good decision. The ladies working seemed fairly new and a bit nervous, but they were all working hard and overall the service was good. Seemed a little chaotic with a lot of excessive back and forth running around. A bit more teamwork and they will be more efficient.Great dinner and will definitely go back.“
“Great spot! Last weekend six of us visited for a late breakfast. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly & attentive. I had the Greek omelette (delicious) which was packed with veggies and feta. It is my go to breakfast dish and this was the best I've ever had! The decor is fun and imaginative and reflects the summer and winter fun to be had in the region. Looking forward to my next visit and will definitely use their catering service for my next event!!Parking: Plenty of off street parking“
“Server McKenna was attentive..friendly..and quick...nice choices for beer and liquor..including local Ipa's..ski season slowing down so not crowded..interesting appetizers...fish and chips where good with a generous helping of fish...I recommend that you give the Queen's Head a try..“
“Tried this place out to "celebrate" St. Patrick's day. The place was rocking. They had live music but we were able to grab seats at the bar. They offered many fun drinks and a very large selection of draft beers. The service was very good considering the number of people in the place. They offered many GF options! We had jalapeno poppers and their brussels sprouts. They were good portions and tasted great. We will be back!“
