“Spectacular doesn’t begin to describe our experience at Grey Havens Inn! From the moment we arrived, the magnificent harbor view beckoned us to sit in a big ol’ rocking chair on the Inn’s lovely porch, cocktail in hand & relax completely into the moment. Oh & sunsets? Outstanding! Our first moments at Grey Havens were so warm & welcoming. Actually even before arriving, calls with innkeepers, Ali & Carlos, had us beyond excited for our initial stay. I say initial because of course we definitely will return & soon I hope! I could list endlessly all the delightful elements that the Grey Havens team have combined to create a place in which one can truly & gloriously unwind. From the lovely & cozy guest rooms to the gorgeous bay-windowed common room (with its stunning actual bay-view) the vibe is marvelous. Grey Havens feels quintessentially seaside Maine with just the barest but perfect touch of some lovingly placed & demure whimsy to intrigue a curious eye. Our initial stay dates did not overlap with Blue’s calendar, sadly. However the many tales we heard of Chef Esau’s creations have us drooling in anticipation. We will ensure we enjoy a dinner at Blue upon our return to Grey Havens.“

Upon entering, I experienced some initial confusion regarding where to sit and how to be greeted. Clearer signage or direction at the entrance could help create a smoother first impression and improve the overall customer experience.

One of the restaurant’s biggest strengths is its combination of competitive pricing and generous portion sizes. The availability of homemade desserts is also a great touch and adds to the appeal.

The food itself was compelling enough to make me want to return. The flavors exceeded my expectations, particularly considering the restaurant’s target demographic and price point.

Amanda, a front-of-house team member, deserves special recognition for providing exceptional service. She was attentive, proactive in addressing customer needs, and consistently engaged with patrons throughout the meal. Her customer-service approach made a noticeable difference in the overall experience.

The main reasons I would not give the restaurant a full five stars were the high noise level in the dining area and some inconsistency with the food specials. For example, the tuna was somewhat dry, which may have been the result of cooking it too quickly at a higher temperature. The Blueberry pie and the cheesecake were great, the chicken marcela was a bit oily.

Despite these minor issues, the combination of good value, generous portions, enjoyable flavors, homemade desserts, and excellent service makes this a restaurant I would gladly visit again.“

“Beautiful historic store with a lovely new owner. Liza had curated an assortment of Maine goods, vintage objects, craft beer and wine. The ice cream is especially delicious and there is a very unique sundae menu if you want something even more fabulous. The blueberry float is hands down one of the most delicious creations on the planet and I always drink too many when I'm in the area. Please support this local gem!! Tiny stores like this are disappearing, please appreciate the service and care that Liza is bringing to the area.“

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.“
