They sent us a gift card in the mail so we can give them another chance. The customer service is greatly appreciated!! Really disappointed in our experience at the Monstweag this afternoon on Mother’s Day. We made a reservation for 3pm. We left at 4:38 and our appetizer hadn’t even been started yet. We spoke to the waitress and after learning our app hadn’t been started, we requested the bill and left. We were told it would still be an hour before we got our appetizer and we had three very young extremely hungry children. The server was apologetic but we were not offered a concession, discount or anything (we had ordered 6 drinks at this point) for the extraordinarily long wait and lack of communication about it. I don’t normally expect anything like this but I was frankly blown away at the lack of communication or accommodation considering the circumstances - on Mother’s Day nonetheless! We’ve been to Monstweag several times in the past and always had a good experience. This was out of character for this restaurant and really disappointing. We left deciding where to try to get a pizza to try to get some food in the kids, knowing it would be too late to get a reservation anywhere else on Mother’s Day. I debated whether to write a review but I do think after an experience like this management should receive honest constructive feedback. It was a disappointing experience to say the least.“

“Spectacular doesn’t begin to describe our experience at Grey Havens Inn! From the moment we arrived, the magnificent harbor view beckoned us to sit in a big ol’ rocking chair on the Inn’s lovely porch, cocktail in hand & relax completely into the moment. Oh & sunsets? Outstanding! Our first moments at Grey Havens were so warm & welcoming. Actually even before arriving, calls with innkeepers, Ali & Carlos, had us beyond excited for our initial stay. I say initial because of course we definitely will return & soon I hope! I could list endlessly all the delightful elements that the Grey Havens team have combined to create a place in which one can truly & gloriously unwind. From the lovely & cozy guest rooms to the gorgeous bay-windowed common room (with its stunning actual bay-view) the vibe is marvelous. Grey Havens feels quintessentially seaside Maine with just the barest but perfect touch of some lovingly placed & demure whimsy to intrigue a curious eye. Our initial stay dates did not overlap with Blue’s calendar, sadly. However the many tales we heard of Chef Esau’s creations have us drooling in anticipation. We will ensure we enjoy a dinner at Blue upon our return to Grey Havens.“

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.“

“Honestly, your visit highly depends on your server. If they don't write down while taking your order, lean on the side of caution and take it as a red flag. I've had to refuse my food before due to several things being wrong because a server didn't write it down (while not particularly busy either.)

Food is great, though. Just wish the general server experience was consistent when it comes to basics like taking orders.“
