“We came across the water in mid-April so the dark rum and hot coffee was well needed and quickly served. The server was wonderful with our almost five year old grandson and equally charming and efficient with us adults. They made all the accommodations this celiac needed on the menu and the haddock, scallops and shrimp were wonderfully prepared and totally delicious. This place never disappoints.“

While it may in fact come off as a tourist trap, the food is decent and the service is excellent. Biggest surprise of the night -- one of best espresso martini's on the East coast (I know!). Gave it an extra star for that one.“

“Super cute restaurant right on the bay. You go up and order and they bring it to you. I recommend going early if you are having breakfast as many of these smaller places get busy fast. Food was excellent. Our party of 4 had mostly omelets and one had Maine blueberry pancakes. Everyone ate everything on their plate. Nothing better than a small business where you can see the cook and know they are passionate about what they do. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they were extremely accommodating. Highly recommend!“

“I had dinner at this restaurant while visiting Wiscasset over the weekend on a recommendation from family who lives locally, we actually went twice!! So safe to say we were fans! The decor and surroundings themselves were so homey and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, I am dreaming about the Haddock sandwich still! Truly the only complaint was the size of the salads which a few members of our party ordered was slightly disappointing. But they said that the flavor was fantastic and the shrimp they added was big and delicious! We also had the crème brûlée for dessert which I am also still dreaming of and probably will be for a while!! The service was fantastic, we absolutely loved our waitress! The whole atmosphere was wonderful; and I am sure we will be back next time we are in town visiting!!“

“We just had a wonderful lunch at The Osprey. One of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time… and the gluten free bun tasted like a normal bun. “A must visit spot for dinner & a drink.I don’t even know where to start. We arrived a little later in the day and the kitchen had already closed for the night but that didn’t stop the owner Michael from going back into the kitchen and whipping us up a platter on the house. When I say he came out with a tray full of food I mean, damn. Two bowls of Mac & cheese, a half rack of ribs, a basket of wings and a basket of poppers which he insisted were free of charge.The food was magnificent (the best ribs I have ever f%#king had), the beer was awesome & Michael and the bartender were and absolute treat to talk with.I can’t recommend this place enough & I will make sure to always stop at this place if I’m ever in the area of boothbay again.“

Great food at great prices.. can be hard to get in to at peak times and the booths are tight but it's worth the squeeze and take note if your a phone nerd like me make darn sure you set up front by the windows if you want to get phone signal..lol service is always great!!“

It was right across the street from our bnb and was one of the few places in the area open in early April (harder to find than you think!) so was all in all very convenient. We tried the grilled Caesar, crab cakes, lazy lobster and baked haddock with crab stuffing, and the blueberry pie. Grilled Caesar: yum, all good things, no complaints Crab cakes: pretty good, but would have preferred a few more lumps to change up the texture a bit Lazy lobster: my partner really enjoyed this, especially the fettuccine Baked haddock: a bit bland overall and the crab stuffing was the same as the crab cake, so same thoughts there Blueberry pie: filling was delicious but crust was a bit salty for our taste. Servers were very kind and attentive, always filling our waters and checking in on us which was appreciated!“

I wandered through Booth Bay in search of an authentic Maine musical and gastronomic adventure and so I stumbled on the news in an online site , called, and found out that open mic Wednesday with Dave Gagne was about to begin. A great intimate group of pretty darn good musicians were a treat to all. Dave is a talented and generous host who makes all us singer/songwriters feel welcome. and appreciated . And with Jersey Man behind the bar and great food ( I had haddock tacos) Whale’s Tale checks every box!!!“

“So, on the road, we were hungry for breakfast and saw this little quaint place. Market Cafe is a big hit for those on the road, and wanna stop for breakfast. Fantastic customer service. Real down home cooking. The pancakes were very tasty. The Keilbasa, 2 eggs, toast, and cubed potatoes at $11.95 were very reasonable. Great New England coffee. Great customer service. Great talk with the locals.“

“Stopped in Booth Bay specifically for a soft shell lobster dinner. I was not disappointed! The lobster was a full pound and a half and full of meat! Mo tools were required to separate the shell from the meat. My wife ordered the scallop dinner and she was not disappointed. We will be back!“

“Yes, it is not on the 'main strip' in Boothbay... however worth the short walk. We met the chef the night before at Pier 1 Pizza so, yeah - we had to go! “A couple of weeks ago I rated Spinneys a 2 that was because they were closed OFF SEASON and we had dipped in the ocean out front. Let me say that I eat at Spinneys during the summer. I have eaten there as long as I can remember and it has always been great place to go.“
